volume control stuck on screen - not work - not adjustable, Inspiron 13 7000 series 2-in-1

I have just bought a new laptop Inspiron 13 7000 series 2-1. It comes with Windows 8.1. It happened (don't know why) that the volume control is frozen on the screen at the top left with the volume level of 0% so I can not adjust the volume of all on both the keyboard and the touchscreen.

What I've tried is less than

-In the Control Panel, sounds, communications: when Windows detects communications activity

Select "do nothing".

-uninstalled the audio driver and leave it is reinstalled automatically after reboot

-uninstalled the audio driver and install the audio driver downloaded from dell support

-clean the boot and uninstall - reinstall the driver

It was solved once when I tried the pull-off and push the usb for the logitech wireless mouse. When the volume control is stuck on the screen again, I tried this again, but it does not help.

Any suggestion please. Thank you.

Thank you!  Has exactly the same problem today.  Here is a picture of the cable and screw in question.

    Hello Wanda.

Thanks for writing back and providing the information required as well as the screenshot.

According to the information provided and the screenshot, the volume icon that appears on the screen is the result after pressing the Volume button on the keyboard. First, open the charm of settings , click on "change settings of the PC", then accessibility > Other Settingsand change the length of time to display the notifications to in the drop-down list box. This will reduce the amount of time that remains the notification on the screen. If this does not resolve the issue, go further.

To remove the icon of volume you can press the volume button on the keyboard again. This work of keyboard keys based on the drivers provided by the manufacturer, I beg of you download and install the latest version of the drivers for the keyboard to solve this problem.

  • Dell order | Configure not applying is not the settings of the BIOS for Inspiron 13 7000 series

I tried to define a system and/or a password via the command line and a package .exe or CCTK file via the export of GUI and none of these work for me.

The following text appears in the log:

I tried this on a Windows 8.1 system and for S & G, on a Windows 10 system with the same result.  I even tried to create the 2.2 CCTK config and have the same result.

    What is the cause?

    Hi CAPP3R,

DCC (CCTK) deals with the BIOS settings only for Dell commercial client systems. CDC is not yet supported on all Inspiron models.

  • Graphics of defective screen with keyboard volume control

I have the HP TouchSmart 610-1030y and when I press the buttons volume control on keyboard, instead of the graphic showing the volume control on the screen, all I get is a blank white box. The volume control does not work, it's just the screen icon that is faulty. Can what drivers or software I try reinstalling to resolve this problem? By pressing the buttons volume control on the side of the screen is the same thing. Using Windows 7 64 bit. Thank you.

Software keyboard, screen, is what generates volume graphics, if you head in this direction, you have to solve it.

  • HP dv6-2174tx screen touch volume control display missing

I just lost the volume control on the screen that appears when you turn the volume upwards or downwards. I can't find the software/driver to be installed to make it work. Anyone know what that/where I might find it? Thank you so much in advance for any help!

    Hello

To get visuals on the screen, you will need to download and install MediaSmart SmartMenu here (version 3.2.1.12 for 32/64-bit Win7).

Before you do that you must have installed at least one application of the MediaSmart software package. The best choice will be in my opinion:

MediaSmart DVD here (version 4.1.4328 for 32/64-bit Win7)

Above solution have one flaw. When you adjust volume for example while playing games or videos online then the current window will be inappropriate to display visual effects. If this can be annoying you then uninstall system MediaSmart software and use another product that is:

    3VRX here (version 2.5 for 32/64-bit Win7)

    Note:

Here is YouTube video that shows what can be done with the 3VRX software.

  • Volume and mute keyboard keys stop working

P7 - 1298c updated to Windows 8 Pro, everything worked but now the volume keys and mute have stop working. I know that there are related software, because if I boot a backup drive, they work again. The most obvious thing I did lately, it's remove the feature optional windows Hyper-V. Is there an obvious way to reactivate the buttons?

Another recent change, I've had, I think that Adobe Flash player has updated.

It seems to have solved the problem with the help of an old thread in the http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-PC-Sound-and-Audio-e-g-Windows-8/Volume-control-keys-on-keyboard-not-working/td-p/773049 area Notebook

I uninstalled the device IDT under sound, video and game controllers in the Device Manager with option enabled, rebooted and reinstalled driver remove the last available IDT device shown to my system model and win 8 64-bit. Oddly enough, I received a message that the update failed. But the sound and the buttons seem to work fine now.

  • The notification area: Volume control freezes

In the properties of the taskbar and Start Menu, the Volume/clock/network and power supply are checked to show in the notification area.  Sometimes, Windows Explorer stops responding and when it is restarted, the volume and network icons are missing from the notification area.  I can run a registry fix and sometimes retrieve the icons, other times I have to reboot to get them back (I can't get back them via the properties because they are gray).  Sometimes, only the volume control stops working.  Once again, I can sometimes get the volume control work by launching a registry fix.

Now, here is the solution I found.  If I go into the properties of the taskbar (notification area) and uncheck CLOCK, my volume control never a problem, not Windows Explorer stops working.  I can run for days without any problem of Volume or Windows Explorer.

But as soon as I'm back at the helm of the properties and turn the CLOCK on in the taskbar, my volume and Windows Explorer problems all over again.

I've renamed TIMEDATE. The CPL and the system re-create it.  The size is 698 kb (714 240 bytes).  It is identical to the one I've renamed.

Is this a known problem and is there a solution?  I'm just short without the date and time displayed in the notification area to avoid the problem, but VISTA should not have this problem.

I'm closing this.  I think I have a problem with Firefox.  Uninstalling Firefox results in days that I can run without any problem.  Firefox reinstallation the problem to reappear.  Especially, when I close Firefox, the process is still running and the parent.lock file is not deleted.  I have to restart (the icons disappear after reboot), delete the parent.lock and then restore the icons, but updating the registry (TRAYNOTIFY).  So I restart Firefox until the next shot.  I think I'll start fresh (this isn't my main PC)

  • SL500 volume control problem

    Hello

    I have an SL500 with vista sp2.
Mute the volume control and the buttons stopped working. I reinstalled the drivers from the shortcut key, but it does not solve the problem. What can I do?

    Thank you.

I don't know - I also have Vista SP2 but no problem with that... You have downloaded the latest drivers? If not, try to do it - I always install the latest drivers (I don't mean driver hotkey only, I mean all download them from impacting on others in many cases).

  • Pavilion dv6 volume controls

    Hello

For some reason that the Panel of volume control on my keyboard stopped working - it is located above the keyboard, next to the power button.  The button of the wireless adapter is in the same place and has also stopped working.  As far as I know, there is no button to disable this part of the keyboard as there are for the touchpad, and I tried to do a repair of the keyboard but I was told there is nothing wrong with it.  Someone at - it ideas on how to solve this problem?

    Thank you

    ABI

    Hello

This may be worth trying because the problem may be caused by an accumulation of static electricity upward in the bezel.  To see if this is the case, turn off the PC, remove the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Now, hold the power button down for a good 30 seconds.  Replace the battery, connect the power adapter and start the PC.

    Best wishes
