volume on-screen bar rest in the Middle, how can I get rid of it

I use a laptop with XP, and there is a window in the middle of the screen with the volume on the subject bar.  I can't understand how get rid of it.  All of the suggestions.  Please help, it's very annoying.

·         This is the controller Volume of Windows you see?

·         Have you restarted the computer?

Try to activate and deactivate the volume icon in the notification area and see if it helps.

To do this, follow these steps.

a. click Startand then click Control Panel.

b. double-click on sounds and Audio devices.

c. Uncheck view control the volume on the taskbar.

d. click OK. Restart the computer.

e. turn it back on by checking the Show on the taskbar volume control back.
