Volume OSD boring

While watching a video and when you want to get the volume upward or down, it shows as a boring graph of grand and screens-occupation.
It would be better to change this smaller OSD and push its position on a smaller area of the screen.

  • Qosmio F50 - Volume OSD Bar missing

    Hello all,.

Although I searched and found some information on this particular issue, I couldn't find any solution yet.

As far as I remember, immediately after I turned on the F-50 for the first time, I could see on the screen display (OSD) indication of the "volume bar", as I turned the volume knob.

Running Vista 32 on a F50-10 q (Spanish model), updated to the latest version of the BIOS, etc, but the Volume OSD ONLY works on Media Center, which is really strange to me.

So the question is simple, what driver do I need to reinstall in order to have the Volume Bar OSD whithin the Office?

    Hello Jose

Of course, it is not easy to say why you don't see more. The fact is that this kind of thing is controlled by Toshiba specific tools and utilities. I don't really know which is responsible for this, but you should try remove and reinstall the package of added value.

This package contains several different applications and I hope that one of them is responsible for this function. Check it out and please let us know if the problem is resolved.

  • Satellite C660 - 23 M: Volume OSD works not under Fn Key + 2 or 3 using Win7

I have a satellite C660 - 23 M and have recently reinstalled Windows 7 to get a clean install without bloatware.

I installed the utility Support Flash Cards and value-added products and, on the whole, the functionality of the keys Fn + F OK work and give an OSD appropriate, so that we can see what happens when you use key controls.

Unfortunately however, Fn + 3 (the volume) and Fn + 4 (increase the volume) everything works properly with regard to actually proceed with a reduction or increase the volume control, do not show a suitable simultaneous OSD that allow to confirm the effect and adjust the level of the volume actually set.

Can anyone help with a fix/solution please?

Maybe stupid question now, but worked it as you wisch with Win7 preinstalled original?
I ask this because on my NB520, I use the same combination of keys, but volume OSB is not displayed on the screen.

  • Volume buttons not working not properly

The volume buttons on my keyboard do not seem to work right. When I adjust the volume, it is assumed to be a blue bar on the bottom screen to show how much the volume increased/decreased. For some reason, it does not show. That's all just annoying because I don't know how strong my volume is without clicking on the "speaker" icon.

The volume buttons still work. He can always put on mute, raise or lower the volume. It just does not display it on the screen when I press the buttons.

Try these 2 links and install, then reboot the pc.

  • HP Pavilion dv7-3170ez: volume indicator not showing when the volume control

    Hello

I own a Pavilion dv7-3170ez and when I change the volume using the slider button in the volume on top of the keyboard, the volume is adjusted accordingly, but no volume indicator appears on the display.

Previously, when you adjust the volume, a speaker icon with a cursor jumped in the middle of the screen showing the current volume level.

I use Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows Update and HP update shows that I have the latest version of the software. Also, I have the latest version of the BIOS installed.

Note: the touch buttons on top (volume, speaker and enable wireless, etc) stopped working a few days after the disappearance of the sound meter, I have fixed that by connecting battery power and disconnectiong for awhile. However, the indicator is still not displayed. Don't know if this is related (I guess not).

    Thank you

  • On the Volume/Treble & Bass error display screen

    Model: DV8t 1200

    Product #: WF681AV

    Window 7 64 bit

First of all, let me explain my problem. The volume of the screen and triple & low display is not showing / work. The volume real/treble & base material touch buttons functions correctly. To clarify what is the display, I found a picture online to make sure that we are on the same page.

(Ignore the Green volume bar. Apparently, the guy who posted this image was trying to get rid of it and thought that it was due to a keyboard software)

The block appears quite acute & low while poster all messed up. It would have blue and white lines where the blue solid is suppose to show.

Let me return path. This problem occurs after I install a new copy of Windows 7 Ultimate. After you have installed Windows 7 Ultimate, I'd install the latest drivers directly from HP using the link:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=4063&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&sw_lang=&product=4186...

When he was just a Home Premium to HP, it displays and works correctly.

So, like many others guess that there must be something wrong with the installation of drivers or operating system. I used two different copies of Windows 7 Ultimate, which would exclude more unlikely that it will be the fault of the OS. Using two different OS, I installed the drivers several times by ensuring that they were not corrupt. I reformatted the laptop several times (about 5 or 6) before sending it. All HP made was to reformat my laptop to the standard family Premium. After that I got my laptop back, the display of volume/treble & bass would work. After installing Window 7 Ultimate, it still would not work.

I'm at an impasse as to what I should do. I have some other ideas on how I can fix this.

This is to get your order volume and eject to work.

Download this file to the desktop, install and reboot. Who should get your eject to work, but no volume no OSD.

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp46501-47000/sp46762.exe

Install this version on top of the one that you just installed. (Download this a second on the desktop as well)

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp45001-45500/sp45140.exe

Now that you have in "Programs and features" uninstall and then reinstall 45140, the other still and will give you the volume OSD and your eject button.  Restart your machine.

Note: You must have at least one Media Smart program installed. I chose DVD Smart Media and Media Smart Web Cam.

  • upgrade to windows 7 (grime)

I recently did the program of upgrading hp for windows 7 64 bit on my hp dv7 - 2173cl. Although the Visual upgrade went well on the screen, feature does not imply so much. Now, I try to do a clean install of windows 7.

Will I need to go back to vista from the recovery partition and create some restore disks, or can I leave the partition as is and still have the opportunity to go back to vista in the future (F11 at startup)?

Win7 disc will find vista on partition recovery for authentication?

So, I stumbled upon the recommendation of copy of file SWSetup, to migrate to windows without that upgrade hp disk, can I use the disk hp on a clean install of windows 7 to keep some of the software? What would be the difference and how to settle the SWSetup folder programs?

The first thing to worry about is the Device Manager. If there are no signs warning of the lack of drivers, you are finished.

I found this on Google to erase some of those annoying abbreviated terms in SwSetup.

Most is left more stuff of Vista and HP lint ware. At the same time, I used to know exactly what that all that glittered with having to look it up, but it has been awhile. Read the thread and there is some stuff in there to know exactly what they are if your curiosity Gets the better of you. Some time just a right click then properties will tell you.

MSDVD: don't know what it is

MSMenu: do not know what it is

MSMVP: don't know what it is

MSTV: don't know what it is

All this are Smart Media (SM) not Microsoft.  DVD is obvious, MVP Movie Video Player, TV - if you have a TV tuner to your laptop. MSMenu - if the Media Smart software is installed, then when the Media Smart access key is affected so it's menu coming up. In my view, it is also responsible for displaying the volume OSD.

You can install the Menu If you want for the volume of the OSD, but depending on what version is that you will need to install one or more of the Media Smart programs. If you can live with it, then don't bother.

If you want the OSD volume slider her you have to install the Smart Menu with one or more of the Media Smart programs. If you want the OSD to resemble that of W7, then you need to install one on the HP site.

Here's another link for PROTshd to explain what it is and how to install it in W7. It is important, if you drop your laptop.

  • Hi all, I have the drivers for my computer laptop dv4-2170us, but I can not intall them.

So, I recently formatted my laptop just because I had to change my hard drive. I installed BACK Windows 7 Home Premium and downloaded all the drivers on the HP website. Some of them have been installed correctly, but some, like the webcam, dvd software were not. For now, my remote does not work correctly and some features like when I raise the volume I can't see the bar on the screen. When I try to install them, they extract the files and then stops. Please I hope you undeerstand and help.

    Italo.

Install 7zip and restart, you will need to extract the Media Smart software to do a manual install.

    http://www.7-zip.org/download.html

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-89804-1&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en&OS=4063&product=4125885&sw_lang=

Record Media Smart DVD on the desktop and right click to use 7zip to extract the files. Click this folder and open src.

In the src folder find the Setup program, a sixth from the bottom to install Media Smart DVD.

Do the same for your Menu of Smart Smart Media and reboot, you should get volume OSD to work. In some cases, you need 3 Media Smart Applications to work with the Menu for the volume OSD.

Do the same for your webcam as well.

  • Solid State drive in dv8-1110eb

I can install a Solid State drive in my dv8-1110eb, done it really accelerates my Win 7, 64 bit system, and what SSD would you recomment?

    Greetings,

    Onni.be

    Hello Jürgen.

Here are some tips during the reinstallation of the operating system and all your applications. You can use the tools of W7 to see the mirror your hard drive image and create a system repair disc. These two applications work to restore the operating system at the time of the creation. If the new SSD is smaller in size, this method will not work. You can use your HP recovery DVD in this case, or you can install a retail version of W7 and use your key to product from the underside of the laptop. To do this there must be the same exact version and it must be installed as a trial. When it's time for you to enter the OEM key, go to the properties of the computer and at the bottom of this page you will find 'change product key '. This is where you enter your OEM key.

    Download secure for W7.

http://www.mydigitallife.info/Download-Windows-7-ISO-official-32-bit-and-64-bit-direct-download-links/  Do not use rewritable and make sure it is a good brand. If you choose this method, I can show you exactly where everything that get you the drivers and even get the access keys work. You "eject" Volume OSD Bass and treble etc, everything will disappear with the commercial version of W7.

I'm using Adobe CS4 and you will be surprised to know how fast your CS5 will run!
