  You should be able to remove the key, but I would be careful to make sure it is removed correctly and not to damage anything. In addition, one of the pins under the "D" key maybe breaking which is making it difficult to press down key. My situation is that I do not expandad actuall my RDM from 500 MB to 1 TB for the file system, but Windows 2008. There are interesting feature in Win 2008 where you can shrink or expand the volume depending on the size of your hard drive.

  So my question is how do Windows to see the additional space without rebooting the file server that is running 24 x 7?
