Voluntary placement of photos

As usual, all is confused as all hockeysticks. I am 66 years old and do not have that many years left. All I want to do is take pictures and transfer them to my computer laptop in folders that I can recognize and open when I want. All you younguns on the photo, I'm interested in this is easy. But me, huh.

I know how to connect my camera and import them into the computer. The photos go anywhere Windows want let them. Then I end up with all sorts of photos involved in albums (?) or something. I want to put pictures of a dog in a folder named dogs. I want to put pictures of cats in folders named cats. Get it? That is my question.

I'm sure that anyone responding to this will need more information, but I know nothing that I can add at this time. I have Windows 7 and a Toshiba Satellite L755 computer. I'm working with Windows Media Center.  I will never understand why the geeks of the world don't just make things easy and make clear that it is susposed to be and don't use any fancy words and... oh, never mind.

Thank you.

==============================================
People are happy to just connect the camera
VIA USB and allowing the computer to do all the
work.  Like you, I prefer to have control over which
is downloaded and where it is saved.

OK... something to try...

Connect the camera to the computer via a USB cable and
Turn on the camera. If open windows... Close them.

Reach... Start / computer / removable devices
Storage...

Look at the drive letters and see if one of them
represent the camera. He can say removable disk

If the camera is recognized... right click on the drive letter
and from the menu choose... Open or explore.

The directory of the memory card in the camera must
poster and if you browse through the various
files, you must find the photo files.

Once found, you can copy and paste pictures to all
folder on your hard drive.

Just a select group of photos do a right-click and choose...
Copy... then navigate to the folder you want in and
Right-click on the folder and choose Paste.

Simple and the best solution IMHO is to use an internal
or external USB memory card reader.

It will not drain your camera batteries and can be faster.
FWIW... download from the camera when batteries
can be low after a long photo shoot could result
corrupted photos.

  • When I place my photos in InDesign my pictures become adjusted...

I don't know why this is happening, but when I place a photo (.psd or .png) in my documents, scale becomes very wobbly. (i.e., he becomes very long and skinny or it widens just the image) The proportions of my photos just became very weird. So, I wonder as to why this is happening? Would it be because of a problem of style guide? If Yes, where can I change this? I added a picture which should erase I hope that my explanation. Thank you! PS I would put their scale everything manually, but I work for a magazine, and I don't want to do this with each item I'm affected...

  • Delete the people & places of Photo Albums

It was sometimes a little boring, but how do you remove the people and places of your Photo Albums?

    Hello calicharles,

Welcome to the communities of Apple Support!

I see you're wondering if you can remove the sections people & places album in the Photos app. I understand only eager to have albums you want. I can help you with this.

In the Photos of 10 iOS app, the albums of people and places are designed to help you better organize and view your Photos. You cannot delete these albums.

    Best regards.

  • How can I disable People and Places in Photos.app@iOS10?

I frequently get photos under NDA contract, not allowing any electronic assessment content photo due to the protection of data. Thus our admin has stopped any update of iOS10, because the new Photos.app of iOS10 seems to have no switch to disable extraction faces to the 'People' file or folder locations "places".

How can I disable these processes demons or can be sure no processing happens on photos?

Thanks for your help maintain our aircraft delivered by Apple and avoid spending somewhere else!

Analysis of face detection is automatic and cannot be disabled.

    http://help.Apple.com/iPhone/10/#/iph9c7ee918c

Photos scans your library of photos for the faces of the people and adds faces more frequently found in the album of the people. You can assign names to the discoveries of Photos of people, add people appear less frequently, people mark as Favorites and discovers memories that contain specific people. The more photos you have, more the first scan takes.

You can only hide the detected people and refrain from naming people.

The album places creates collections of photos and videos based on the place where they were taken.

This example uses the photos embedded GPS tags. You would have to strip the EXIF in the photos tbefore tags you import them to avoid this problem.

  • Place a photo on the same page of a photo book?

So I did a lot of photo books in the past with iPhoto, I'm working on my first with Photos. I can't for the life of understand me how to move a photo from one spot to another on the same page without removing it completely, and then placing the photo once again in place I want.

It is a HUGE pain when I don't want chronological photos on the same page. My normal process is to add photos to the page, by increasing the number of photos on the page until I have everything I want, then I move them until. This allows me to just go through the photos unplaced until I get what I want. In iPhoto, it wasn't a problem, but with pictures, it seems that once you have placed a picture, you cannot move. So whenever I want to add a new photo to the page and increase photos by the Photos of say 3-4, page move around randomly and I have to start all over again with the placement. Would not a big deal, except that Photos sorts photos unplaced by date, so when I took a picture to place in a new spot, now I need to go hunting for him again in the list.

Any help would be great, I hope my question is clear.

You can drag a photo to a different location on the page:

    • Place the pointer over the photo, click on hold until the photo is displayed outside, and then drag the photo to the Photos area or another location on the page.

If you drop the photo on a different box of photos with a photo the two photos swap places.

  • Place the photos high resolution in InDesign - look terrible when I resize down! Does not work why!

I'm a beginner with InDesign, so I'm looking for very clear instructions. I work with CS6 on a ballot. When I place very large, high resolution photos in and then try to resize the terrible resolution looks down.  I use the tool place during the import. At first I thought it was because I use the 'content to the chassis Fit' tool and who had settled the proportions. So I tried to "Adjust the frame proportionally" and who did not, any more than "automatic adjustment". I have tried to place photos and then making a control + drag to resize down - it did not work. I looked at preferences - file handling - preserve Image Dimensions (I deselected that option). Also, did not work. I wonder if the resizing affects pixels, but I don't know where to find it in InDesign. I found the instructions for Photoshop on the choice of Image - resize the Image, but not in InDesign. The other thing, on what I am wondering is that I put these pictures in a text box - which could cause problems with the resolution? Should I be placing them another way?

Any advice would be appreciated with gratitude!

You should always use one of the options adjustment proportional to avoid distortion. This may mean that you need to change the shape of the image frame allows you to adapt the shape of the image, or crop the image to take into account the shape of the frame. It is a reality.

I'm starting to think that some or all the original problem may be in the jpeg compression, and I doubt that Pixillion Image Convertor is a good choice for downsampling (which isn't the same thing as compression). You can post one of these pictures somewhere for us to watch?

  • Newbie: Place the Photo

I'm about 1 day to come to grips with InDesign, after using Photoshop for my projects of basic design for years. I'm having trouble with the photo I want to use as a background for my image, it's a huge, commercial quality TIFF image, but he pixillates like a mobile phone of snapshot when I place in my InDesign format A4 document. Clearly, I'm doing something wrong, but I can't understand it - I wonder if it's something to do with the process of scaling (the photo is too large for the workspace, so I scale down just using the brake handles). Any help would be appreciated!

(Tabitha Spottybottom is my cat, incidentally!)

What you see is just the preview screen. Go to object > display performance and choose high quality display.

The same can be done for the entire document under view > display performance.

  • Unable to get the move tool to place a photo at the top of the page another

    Hello people,

I am aware that I'm really a newbie to Photoshop (but methodically working my way through Kelby Photoshop 6 for photographers tackle this CS), and I also know that I am a fool at the same time. However, it is time to put my hand up and admit that even the simplest of tasks is beyond me.

Use the CC version, I have two pictures open in a document. Actually I'm following one of the lessons of Kelbys of Chapter 9. The two images have the same group of three folk poses, same etc, the only difference is that one picture, the guy is looking for the camera in the other, he seeks right to it. The lesson is to place the other photo on top and using a brush and a layer mask to reveal the image where he looks at the camera.

Seriously, I have tried for 3 days to use the move tool (V) click and drag one photo to the other, but it won't happen just for me. I also tried with my own images, still no difference. This work will be if I use Select-Select All, then copy and paste a picture on top of another, so all was not lost and I can finish the lesson, but my inability to get the move tool to drag and drop gives me major pain.

I'll be very grateful if anyone can put me out of my misery - like I said I can be a good fool sometimes. A virtual beer to the person who can help you!

    Best wishes

    David

OK, I assume here that you have opened both images that everyone is in its own document. By clicking on the tabs on the top screen between the two documents and the two images switches have only a single locked background layer.

You are right in saying: select all, copy, and then paste. It's a way.

However with the active object (lowercase v on the keyboard) tool, you can place the cursor on the image, hold down the mouse button and drag this image into another tab. While the cursor is on that tab (you're still now on the button of the mouse) documents will pass. At this point, you can now drag toward the center of the document and finally let go of the mouse button.

If this isn't the case, please post a screenshot of your screen so that we can see how you have photoshop set up. As can the tabs are not visible for example.

  • Place the photo with gradient transparency

I'm trying to place a picture in a packaging design in Illustrator.  The photo has a mask degraded around the edges that fade to transparency.  When I place it on the package with a rich black flood design in illustrator and print on my printer laser, I can see a noticeable difference in the shade of black in a square around the photo area.

What can I do to avoid this?

This show up in the offset printing?

Thank you! This is my first post.

What can I do to avoid this?

Nothing, except if the printer driver supports a workflow completely managed to apply the specific pixelation. If the printer supports it or e.g. Acrobat printing and playing with flattening options, however, you can try color profiles replacing...

This show up in the offset printing?

No, if you prepare your separations ink properly...

  • Place the Photos in the text

    Hello

For some reason that I have difficulty making the text around a picture, I have place in a new document. I am able to send text forward or backward, but unable to make the text wrap nicely around the photo. I recently updated my InDesign program; This is perhaps why I can't find the appropriate command.

    Your help is appreciated.

    Thank you

You apply the text wrapping by using the text wrapping Panel. Window > text wrapping

  • "Place the Photos" InDesign CS3

    Hi people!

New on the forum - and InDesign.

When I print my 16-bit TIFF is strong and all the proportions in check. Who printed and put it next to my impression of InDesign.

When I have 'place' in InDesign, even with my page dimensions exact same as photo, it will tend in some places (especially noticeable when printing) and I tried all forms of connection.

I want to use my photos the whole portfolio in my 8.5 x 11 page extends, but cannot have the loss of quality.

of course, Miss something very basic.  Can anyone help?   Thanks in advance.

    now, how change that

Set it to 100% and leave it like that. That said, 200 dpi should not be significantly wrong. There is no re - sample up to Photoshop, do you? If you "resolution added" in Photoshop and then he exploded in Indesign, you would have gotten this big enough to begin to see the limits of the original resolution.

What was the original photo, and what was the ppi? How wide do you now at 200 dpi?

  • Photo books has changed recently?  I used to be able to place 12 photos per page, and now I can only make 4.

I made the photo books on my Mac for years by I have Photo app. I now use the new Ap Photos. In the past when I would create a book and went to the page layout, I had the opportunity to take up to 12 photos on a page.  Tonight when I went to create a book, I received only the possibility of up to 4 photos on a page.  I called Apple to find out if there is a change or if I have a problem with my application but three phone calls and no response.  If anyone else has experienced this?
