VPN connection but can't map shared drive on the Client.
Hello
I have configure RRAS by using PPTP to serve as a VPN in Windows Server 2008 Server. I can connect VPN on my Windows 7 laptop.
Internet works fine, I can ping the IP address of the server. But I can't see the shared folders on the client.
Things I already checked.
-Network discovery is running.
-J' tried to access the server using the intellectual property and to appoint the two.
Any help would be appreciated.

L2TP VPN connects but won't see network drives
Hi all
I just got a MacBook Pro with El Capitan. I joined it to my area of work and I have implemented SonicWall VPN Client Mobile and I tested it on and it works - only if my network, I am connected to and the VPN will not have the same IP range.
I would like to use the integrated VPN L2TP client, but I have questions here. I have configurted on my Dell SonicWall and connect this VPN from a remote location, it will connect and show the data transfer (sending / reception are green) but I can not access my network drives.
Once I have switch back to Mobile Client VPN SonicWall, everything works well.
Any idea?
Routing on L2TP or PPTP will probably work or at all, if both ends of the VPN tunnel terminate on the same CIDR network block. Which is why people never give a one VPN server address local 192.168.1.0/24. the network block is much too common. Please use something in 10.x.x.x.

VPN connects but can't access internal devices
Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided.
I use AnyConnect to create a VPN with an ASA 5505. Once connected, the client needs to access a device behind a router in 1941.
Internally, (without using VPN), all my itinerary runs correctly. My VPN client can connect and when I put a route on my router from 1941, I am able to ping this particular device. But my VPN client cannot appear ping all the remaining devices on the same internal range as the ASA 5505 or whatever happened on 1941.
Device far router VPN Client ASA 5505 1941 Workstation
192.168.201.20---> outside IP x.x.x.x / / internal 192.168.101.1 192.168.101.56 192.168.101.2 / / 192.168.8.1 192.168.8.150
Client connects and get the IP address of the ASA
Cannot ping it cannot ping
Can ping the internal IP address of 1941

Split tunneling: the ACL must include all the networks you want to join via the VPN:
tunneling split list of permitted access standard 192.168.101.0 255.255.255.0
tunneling split list of permitted access standard 192.168.8.0 255.255.255.0
NAT: Do not use 'everything' in the nat exemption, but specify all the traffic that should not be natted:
IP 192.168.101.0 allow Access-list extended sheep 255.255.255.0 192.168.201.0 255.255.255.0

Cisco vpn client to connect but can not access to the internal network
Hi all
I have a VPN configured on cisco 5540. My vpn was working fine, but suddenly there is a question that the cisco vpn client to connect but can not access to the internal network
Any help would be much appreciated.
Hi Samir,
I suggest that you go to the ASA and check the configuration to make sure that it complies with the requirements according to the reference below link:
http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/ps6120/products_configuration_example09186a00805734ae.shtml
(The link above includes split tunneling, but this is just an option.
Please paste the output of "sh cry ipsec his" here so that we can check if phase 2 is properly trained. I would say as you go to IPSEC vpn client on your PC and check increment in packets sent and received in the window 'status '.
Let me know if this can help,
See you soon,.

I can see other computers on a network of peer to peer windows XP but cannot access their shared files and the shared printer. The computers are connected by a switch, fixed IP addresses that are correctly configured and point to a DNS server outside the network. When I try to open the icon for one of the computers, he asked for credentials. I try to type the user name for the computer that is sharing the resource and the password. It is the user account whose computer is loged on and belongs to the Administrators group. for example: user name (Computer1\username) password (password). It does not work. The Windows Firewall is disabled on all computers. It worked well there 2 days. I can't find anything wrong with the network settings. Does anyone have a solution? Thank you.
If the portion of the machine has activated - Simple file sharing (i.e. it is XP Home or it is XP Pro with Simple (default) file sharing) - while all file sharing connections authenticate as user 'guest '. It will not matter what username / password you provide, it will attempt to authenticate as 'guest '. If the guest user has received a password or the guest account is not active, you will experience the symptoms you describe.
If the serving machine running XP Pro and Simple file sharing is disabled, then you should be able to connect by specifying the user as computer\user and the password to connect. To turn off Simple file sharing:

Remote VPN connected but do not go anywhere.
within the network - ASA5505 = internet = remote VPN client.
The ASA has a public IP address on the external interface and using PAT to the internet. He has only two interfaces, both inside and outside using the vlan. I created an IPSec VPN through CLI. My goal is for the remote client through the tunnel to through the Internet.
Q1: Is it possible?
Q2: the remote side is connected and has the IP address of the pool, with fact part of the network. But he can do nothing, including the gateway, which is inside the ping interface. I debug him, it shows the ASA receives the ping packets, but it is not send anything to the client. All recommend would be appreciated.
Thank you
