VSAN HPE Smart Array P440ar driver

Hello

is there someone who has the HP DL360/DL380 with P440ar and vSAN 6.1?

I have install custom HPE ISO 6.0 U1 (build 307316) and there is the driver version hpsa 6.0.0.144 - 1 BUT on the vSAN compatibility matrix is pilot hpsa.5.5.0.106 - 1. vSAN healthcheck put watch cautioned against HCL, but it works very well.

Thank you very much for your answers.

Joseph Zach

Hello, I think, it is recommended not to use the OEM images.  VSAN and OEM ESXi ISO - CormacHogan.com images

Support can't help you if it is not on the HCL, but in my experience, they usually do.  If it is not broken, do not fix it?  Thank you, Zach.

    Nice day

I am trying to install drivers for HP Smart Array 642 controller. I have installed Win2008r2. I tried the drivers for Win2008x64-> I get BSoD every time when I try to apply the driver.

Non-miniport driver for Win2008r2 does not work.

  • Smart Array P440ar: ProLiant DL380 g9 & controller Smart Array boot order

Work on a server of gen9 ProLiant DL380 (SFF) with an of P440ar (version 3.00) at location 0 (embedded RAID) and a controller (version 2.52) P840 to location 1. I have the P440ar connected to the risers on the front of the system, and I'm starting off the P840 6.5 RHEL. If no hard drive is attached to the P440ar, it works, but if all the disks are connected to the P440ar, the boot device is not found. I tried to change the order of boot in RSBU controller, but the P440ar was the ONLY listed controller. I didn't even have an option to change the P840.

Am I allowed to configure the system in this way?

After fighting with it for several days, I deleted the system P840 and started with just the P440ar. Then I added the P840 in the system and restarting, the system automatically added the P840 to startup controller command list. Works fine now.

  • HP Smart Array P410i - logical drive not visible in 'add a storage '.

I'm running a server small laboratory with the following configuration:

    DL 360 g7

Storage controller "Smart Array P410i" with 512 MB BBWC

    6 x SAS 600 GB of disk

ESXi hypervisor 4.1 - U1 (currently configured directly from the customer)

    Problem:

    1. If I configure the Raid 10 logical unit, everything works fine. A datatore about 1.7 TB can be used.

    2. If I have configure Raid 5 or Raid 0 or Raid 50 then I see the drive in the config and start-up (1 logical drive configured...) tool, but in the storage option Add, there is no disk/lun to select.

I refreshed everything etc, but only if I use the option usable raid 10 storage "appears.

    Any advice/help welcome.

Make sure your logical drive is less than 2 TB. VMFS limitation is specifically 2 TB-512bytes.

  • Re Looking for HP Smart Array P410 profile low media

    Hello

I recently bought 2 HP Smart Array P410 flea market cards unfortunately profile low media are not come with them which I think is the case when buying nine.

I had trouble finding that just grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.

    Thank you

    Donald

    Hello

HP is not in stock profile low support for this particular card.

This metal low profileoffered on eBay can work.  A measure on your existing maps and see if it fits.  There are other media of your choice, but I would lean towards those with perforated air holes.

Look over your RAID cards.  Are they manufactured by Adaptec for HP?  If Yes, then maybe Adaptec has the part.

There is a link at the bottom of http://www.blackberry.com/developers/docs/4.7.0api/net/rim/device/api/smartcard/package-summary.html to this resource page, but it seems to be dead.

Is it possible to get it also?

Thank you for this comment.  I'll get the fixed link.

For now, you can see the JavaDocs included with the BlackBerry JDE 4.7.0 release, which includes this missing page.

  • HP Smart Array P822/P840 does support VAAI?

HP Smart Array P822/P840 does support VAAI?

Controller RAID P822 is considered to be an I/O device and therefore would not be candidate to support VAAI.

  • Smart Array p400 problem

    Hello

    I have a job entirely HP Smart Array P400/512 SAS controller (sata/sas pci-e x 8).

The controller works well on some PCs, but I have problems with my setup:

    Core i7 920

    ATI HD 4870 1 GB

    Gigabyte ga - x 58 - ud5 (core i7, ich10R chipset)

the bios can not find the card (the card does not start and it is not listed in the list of irq).

I tried to update the p400 and tried all the version available, also contacted from bios gigabyte but they told me to contact hp support.

I also tried to disable all options in the bios, remove all cards and use a PCI (pci 32 bit) but nothing has changed!

I think that it's an irq with the ich10 conflict because I've tried in a Council ich9 and I have the same problem, I tried on an ati chipset and it works well!

How can I solve this problem?
How can I change the irq? (I can't change the irq of the motherboard)

What use of the p400 IRQs?

Thank you to all the world tryes to help me!

    FINALLY, THIS MARKET!

Œuvres (beta bios) F8b well enough with the p400 (and speed up the loading of raid ich10 too), I'm very happy with the new bios.

I want to put the disks and the controller of table in a ML350, but want to know if it will lose its configuration or is it boot/run with these mobile?

It will depend on where the tables in table are kept with the card.  Be sure and back up all your data.

This map requires an older system motherboard for it to work.

  • ESXi 5.1 HP Smart Array Controller P420i alarm

    Hello

One of our hosts in VSphere Client VM shows an alarm in the condition of the equipment for the HP Smart Array P420i controller. I noticed that it was noted that this may be a false alarm and that's may be headed down to a problem of firmware version, but every example of which was accompanied by a screenshot of the error with the message firmware in the details. I don't have that or even nothing else in the details. This is the case, however, for control of the ILO for the host that he advises the controller is OK. I get a screenshot of the error below. Does anyone else have this problem?

  • HP Smart Array P400 and ESXi 5.1

    Hello

That's probably a discussion for the hardware section but I don't have the permission to publish in there, so I'm posting here.

I'll be back in 4 X HP Smart Array P400 complete with 512 MB battery Modules.

Anyone know or have experience with one of these Smart boards and it'll work in a whitebox build? I think I'll have to update the firmware to 7.08, but she mentions that ESX 4, yet it will work? Or that I would be better off the coast through the RAID controller in a server VM window and run it like this? I don't have a motherboard capable of Intel VT - d again, however. Just curious.

    Thank you very much

    Karl

According to http://www.vmware.com/go/hcl the P400 controller is supported with ESXi 5.1. What you need to keep in mind, is that there is always a problem with the drivers so that you're currently limited to logical volumes ~ 2 TB (see http://kb.vmware.com/kb/2006942 for more details)

  • Smart Array controller, required for VMware vSphere Hypervisor

I currently use VMware Server on Windows 7 for my test enviromnent.  I would like to set up a server using the VMware vSphere Hypervisor.  The server is an HP Proliant ML110 G7.  The server has 4 GB of memory, single core processor quad intel (E3-1240), Intel 82574 Gigabit NIC , and an integrated HP Smart Array B110i SATA RAID Controller.  This Smart Array B110i controller will work with the latest version of the hypervisor?  Version 4.1 documentation controller HP Smart Array under ESXi hardware required but then lists it list a Smart Array P400/256 controller under installation on supported and start of storage systems.

As far as I can see the server itself, the Integrated NIC (NC112i) or the RAID controller are supported with ESXi (not even on older versions). I really recommend you take a look at the VMware HCL (http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php) or matrix of Support from HP (http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/vmware/supportmatrix/hpvmware.html)

Regarding RAID controllers. Make sure that the controller is equipped with at least 512 MB BBWC/FBWC for a good disk performance. Addition of write cache, makes a HUGE difference.

  • DL120 G6 Proliant Smart Array RAID with ESXi (free)

    Hello

We have ESXi running on a DL120 G6 with 8 GB of RAM, installed via the website of VMWare Go.

The server has 4 disks configured in the BIOS of the server for RAID 1 (2 and 2 mirrors).

How can I tell the server to use the RAID configuration as at the moment we seem to use only a single disc of 4.  Currently, I am able to add one of the spare disks 3 as independent data stores.

Is there a BIOS setting that I need to configure to enable ESXi to use RAID?

    Thank you

    Daren

The default RAID controller DL120 G6 is a Smart Array B110i, who is not a hardware RAID controller supported (see http://www.vmware.com/go/hcl for the supported RAID controllers) you will be able to use this controller with ESXi RAID functionality.

  • No State of health for the Smart Array P400i controller

    Hello

I installed VMware ESXi 3.5 U3 with HP Management Agents on my HP Proliant DL360 G5 server with a Smart Array P400i controller.

When I look at the State of health of my material in the VMware Infrastructure Client, I can't control my storage controller.

The Smart Array P400i controller is compatible (checked with VMWare HCL) with ESXi 3.5 U3.

So why can I not follow it?

    Thanks in advance,

    Kristof

The implementation of ESX ICD (health) does not support HP Smart Array controllers. You can't, so not able to monitor volumes P400i RAID controller to health of ESX.
