Vulnerability of Windows 7

Hi I was wondering if anyone of the Microsoft Community help me to answer a few questions I have about a vulnerability of Windows 7, I've found.

The Bug - being able to access the local disk to read all files without needing a password if if the system has one in place

Questions. -Microsoft still support and patch main vulnerabilities within the operating system Windows 8.1?

They offer bonuses for such a find or have a wall of Fame to be placed on?

Would be happy if someone could respond to the above

Could you shorten [developed?] what do you mean by "Windows Down". Is it when you access the hard drive physically?

Several options:

  • Accessing the drive on another machine.
  • For access to the WRE (repair environment Windows) after you have started the computer with an ERD.
  • Boot the machine with one of several alternative operating systems.

He then asked me to restart my computer for the software could take effect. Well, after that I did the error message, it's in the title, came on the screen and now my computer will not pass this error.

  • vulnerability in cursors animated after upgrade to vista

    Hello

recently I have been upgraded from vista to windows 7 and I read about a "cursor animated remote vulnerability of windows runtime code" that affect users of vista.

(vista users already enjoy a http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=D8B0E65C-5B41-46EB-92DF-0B062CFCDEEC&displaylang=en patch) - but in case where someone updated level vista to windows 7 without previous install this hotfix security, is the system vulnerable to this kid of attack?

If so, is there a patch for windows 7? (rename these sliders will solve the problem?)

    Please advice

When you upgrade Vista to Windows 7, all the Vista files are replaced with files from Windows 7.  So no, you're not still vulnerable to attacks of Vista Basic.

  • Backup Windows disabled by Acronis True Image 2011

I discovered that the uninstallation of Acronis True Image 2011 will disable the Windows 7 backup program. The link is displayed on the Control Panel, but clicking on it does nothing. I've read elsewhere that the problem may be that Acronis mess up the registry of Windows, but I don't know how to fix this and hesitate to try. Acronis seems indifferent to the fixing of the problem - their proposed solution is that I just keep using Acronis and forget to backup Windows. I would appreciate the help.

I would also say that this exposes a vulnerability in Windows 7. It should prevent the modification of the behavior of the windows installed programs or at least ask for permission until it is granted.

This does not have the problem, I've identified, which is that the UNINSTALL Acronis True Image Home leaves disabled Windows backup. Fixing the problem requires the user to modify the Windows registry. Changes have now been contributed by a user and Acronis continues to refuse to address the problem. • Update of the warning of the Acrobat

I have just reset Firefox in the hope of resolving his inability to load reliably since its last update. (Unsolved problem.) As I work with the settings and Add-ons, I naturally looked as well as plug-ins.

Now, I see a warning that Acrobat is known to be vulnerable and must be updated. (I have v10.1.4.38). I click 'update now', and I get redirected to a page saying that v9.5.1 and lower have been blocked. He suggested she go to 'check' plugin page to update. I click to go there, and lo and behold: he pointed out that Acrobat is to date (since it's obviously). This warning must be turned off somehow?

Feel free to vote for the report to keep track of progress, but please do not post comments unless you have technical information to add. See the Bugzilla etiquette page for more details.

    Hello

I have a 'master' XP SP2 build that I adapt to the Toshiba Portege R200 laptop. It's the first Tosh, I have worked with (normally HP). I installed all the Tosh and tools software and downloaded/installed the latest drivers on the tosh site.

Whoa there 'UHF '! I'm sure there are many people who can sympathize with your frustration, but you're not going to get someone to help you by yelling at them. This isn't Microsoft Support so that no one is required to help you. This is a community forum sponsored Microsoft. Participation is entirely voluntary.

It is my understanding that there is an update of the lot 10 Feb caused problems with some systems (but not all). This update has been KB977165. I saw nothing but that identifies the cause of the BSOD experienced by some people.

    You have three options:

1 install the patch and see if it affects your system. Be prepared with an installation CD, you can implement the instructions provided in responses to "SCREEN BLUE, IMPOSSIBLE TO BOOT AFTER WINDOWS XP update today ".

    2. use Windows Update or any method you prefer to manually select to install everything except KB977165 and just leave it uninstalled until a fix is released.

    3. use Windows Update or any method you prefer to manually select to install all except KB977165 and install the "Fixit" patch provided by Microsoft to protect against the vulnerability without installing the problematic update.

Click on the "Fixit" button that says "Enable this fix" (fix 50364) on this page: Microsoft Security Advisory: vulnerability in Windows kernel could allow elevation of privilege

I chose option #3 on networks that I manage.

    Hello dad2,.

Thank you for visiting the Microsoft answers community.

Running sfc/scannow is a good starting point. Include other posibilities your antivirus interferes with him, in which case starting in safe mode would allow him to run. You could test this by disabling your antivirus software, try to restore as well.
