  I used method 2, because I had already tried method 1 earlier, but the "fix it" went wrong.   With respect to method 2, I bought the laptop with Windows 8 by-installed, so no DVD with the software.  I made contact with the distributor of the computer (Samsung), but the first reaction was to get a new version of Windows 8.1 and as they say, the unique language of Windows 8, which has been installed, although the real is a 'gift' and therefore they cannot provide the DVD.  I contacted both Microsoft and there response also had to buy a new license.  I can not fully used this problem as the update seems to be 'corrupted '.
