W500 Power Manager crash

I have reinstalled on my 32 bit Vista Ultimate Edition W500. Then I installed the ThinkVantage System update. It made me all the other tools of lenovo. All the tools now work except the power manager. As soon as he tries to run, a pop-up window indicates that the power manager has stopped working and Windows will close the program.

Does anyone know whats going on here?

Hello

I would say uninstall, reboot, and reinstall powermanager.

May be that there is an update on your support page.

  • Latest version of the Power Manager

    Hello

I have problems with the management of feeding on VISTA SP1 RC Refresh and would like to know if v8.03 is the latest driver.

Specifically, the latest version of SP1 crashes when you have Toshiba Power Management and Wireless Lan to operate. Deactivation of the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG driver in Device Manager solves the problem.

    Hello

As far as I know at this time SP1 for Vista is still beta and now Toshiba offers not preinstalled Vista SP1. I guess that after installation of SP1 problems may occur but before Toshiba offer recovery with SP1 image implemented all problems must be fixed.

It also means that all drivers of most recent, tools or utilities will be available on the support page. This was the case in the past and I'm sure that the same thing will happen in the future. Because of that I really don't think that someone can give you instructions specific how to handle problems after the installation of SP1.

In any case, it will be interesting to know exactly what is happening, and if you have time please let us know if there is a problem.

    Bye and good luck!

  • Satellite A135-SP4088: need drivers XP for power management and Hotkey utility

    Hello
I could not find the drivers for the toshiba A135-SP4088, we bought 3 of them to the office and it is almost impossible to use with vista, so we go to XP SP2 and manage to get almost all pilots of the other models, but I can't find 2 utilities that work with this machine, they are:
Toshiba power management (remember the bulb in the taskbar) :D

Hotkey Utility (so I can change the brightness of the screen and go to hibernation (Fn + F4)

I have al the rest works very well, but these two are a real problem, none of the ones I tested worked, some same crash XP and must return to a previous restore point.

also, I did not install ACPI drivers, are they necessary?, what are those that show I'm looking for? given that the model does not exist in the csd.toshiba.com site.

Now, how one of the largest manufacturers of laptops in the world can build a such nice computer without drivers for the most common operating system?, can someone explain me this because I sincerely do not understand.

    Thank you very much!.

  • BUG: Power Manager 3.64 stops working and won't uninstall

    Gravity; High

This has now happened twice in the past days.

The first time it corrupted my system to the point that I had to reinstall Windows.

The second time I have used the Startup Repair to return to a Point of recent restoration successfully.

I then removed and reinstalled Power Manager 3.64, which seems to be OK now (knock wood).

Nevertheless, it's a serious problem that must be quickly addressed and corrected!

It happened twice, it is that I got an error message that 'Power Manager has stopped working".

He offered to check if a new version is available to solve the problem, but it was not.

Both times the Power Manager on the taskbar battery indicator was an empty white outline.

Both times I tried to uninstall the power manager, but the Uninstall suspended indefinitely to 94%.

The only way that I could regain control of the system was with forced stop,

but which leads to corruption of Windows where crash bluescreen when starting.

Windows and Lenovo Patch logs events the most recent crash are attached.

    Hope that helps.

UPDATE: just crushed ("stopped working") new! This time I just rebooted, and it works again,

but this problem still needs to be fixed as soon as POSSIBLE!

  • Power Manager is suspended.

    Hello

There is a ThinkPad Edge 15, which I've updated the BIOS system 1.21.

I installed Power Manager for him and he hung around 5 times. Then I uninstalled it, and it does not crash again.

I thought that maybe the problem is with the battery firmware, so I downloaded the firmware (and also the wrapper) and they both said: "There is no battery attached to the system in need of update of the firmware." or something like that.

I thought perhaps that he needs, a battery meter, so I installed Power Manager again and the hanging started.

I think the time it works on battery is too low, even for a battery 4 cells. He first said about 1 hour 45 minuets when it is loaded to 100%, then after 45 minutes (with the same low use, as in the beginning), it is said remainging of 45 minutes (of which a quarter is absent here.) and in the final minutes, it seems like running more than the estimate, he does now (every 2 minutes minute is decreesed of the estimate).

    Thanks in advance.

    @truth_believer,.

Power Manager is 3.52 now. You can download it below.

  • Satellite A300-1NO - Power Saver crashes

    Hello

I get a fatal error when starting electric saver application, code 0 x 2

I have a Satellite A300 1NO with Windows XP. When the energy saver tries to start it gives this error code and accidents. This happens with the installer to start too.

Assuming that the cause is the lack of files required by power saver. What can we then these files?
ProgFiles/Toshiba and its subfolders are intact. I deleted some files from windows dir, who seemed unused, and needles. for example. directories and temporary files. And I think, that it is possible that some useful files have been deleted accidentally.

So, it is possible that the cause is missing some files in windows? Otherwise, I have no idea of what was happening here exactly...

    Hello

I ve page no idea why your Power Saver crashes but before install you any what Toshiba you tools should updated Win XP to the current state, and then you need to install the common Modules of the European of Toshiba.

Common modules is an essential component of Windows systems.
He will perform the other original programming from TOSHIBA to work properly.

So uninstall the old Power Saver, clean the registry and operating system with a free tool (i.e. CCleaner), install common Modules, and Power Saver.

  • Canvio Connect II power management

I have a Canvio Connect II 3 TB drive and I'm annoyed by the fact he's going into a deep sleep after a few minutes of inactivity, and it takes a lot to wake up to the top. This is my first Toshiba, all my other WD drives drive (Toshiba was the first to release a 3 TB portable 2.5 in car at a decent price), and I have never such a a problem with them, they all last much longer long to fall asleep and wake up much more quickly.

Is it possible to change the settings of this player power management? Preferably something Toshiba itself? Everything I could find on the web are unacceptable "corrections" that writing something on the disc every 4 minutes so he wants to stay or things like that. I would like to have a proper fix. And nothing ever Toshiba, not even an acknowledgement of the problem, which they seem to continue for at least 5 years already.

If this isn't the case, someone knows how can I contact Toshiba support by email? The only option I found on the Web from Toshiba sites is to contact by phone, there is no other methods (such as email or a contact form), which looks very suspicious. I have only seen this sort of behavior with fake Asian companies ' selling ' good products at half price, but actually take your money and disappear. All serious manufacturers should offer several contact options. Although I bought my drive from UK, I do not live in the United Kingdom, and I don't want to spend money on international calls with support from Toshiba to only be thrown from one person to another and probably never received real support.

I am very unhappy with this situation, and if it is is not resolved, it will be the only player Toshiba I'll never own, I'll stick to what I know, works very well in the future.

Hi, same problem here with my two hard Toshiba USB drives (Stor.e Canvio 3.5 "Desktop, 2 TB + 4 to). I searched all over the internet, came to exactly the same conclusion as you: many 'solutions' with third party software which works only during the session or on the same system, so the same problem could reappear as soon as you connect your HD to a different device, re-install the operating system or whatever. Here is a quote from another thread in this forum that says it all:

Thus, it seems that Toshiba support won't help. I doubt that the problem is really "because of the way it was built', i.e.: caused by the material itself. or at least, I doubt that, even if that's the case, it can't be fixed by providing a new firmware. I guess that Toshiba DOES simply not invest time and money to solve the problem. Accordingly, like you, I never by a hard Toshiba will lead again if they don't change this attitude. Good luck anyway!
