W500 recovery methods

I have covered all the questions and answers listed and I'm still confused, my W500 never gave me any problems so far, but I would be prepared, so I got my recovery discs and instructions on how to use their nestled safely, then some light fingers person caught their and instructions and I am unable today to find online on sites the instructions I had before.  I contacted the support by e-mail who have told me that they can provide me the discs for £ 60, which was also confused that saying they send order make shortly, but to let them know if I want the discs, waiting for the order form to send to me, if she does not come before Monday I will call them. My questions are:

1. can I use the keyboard to help with the installation, if necessary. I have small hands and find it difficult to reach all the buttons at the same time.

2. can someone please tell me step by step how to do this with the keyboard.

3. in the meantime if I would need to recover the System Image will, I saved when I got the GET tablet out me of trouble, I do regular back ups, but kept the first IF on a usb key, I need to transfer it SO on a disk or it will run from the usb key.

Sorry for hiking, my laptop comes with a recovery function that makes it easy to retrieve the thing, press the B button and outside to go, that said I love my W500 and am ready to jump through hoops to make it work.

I hope someone out there can help,

Thank you.

  • Portege Z30T - Confused on partitions and recovery methods

A few weeks ago, I bought a new PORTEGE Z30T-A PT24CE and upgraded to Microsoft Windows OS Version 8.1 Pro 6.3.9600 with its CDs. (it came with Windows 7 pre-installed)

I have two questions that confuse me:

1-) first of all, I got the laptop I upgraded to 8.1 win by a DVD burner. And I remember this time, he made a picture to copy at the end of the Windows installation. And then another reason I reset phone option "DELETE EVERYTHING AND REINSTALL WINDOWS. But SSD partition recovery recovery (since I don't use any DVD).

My first question is: does make a difference to reset the PC from DVD of the TOSHIBA (which takes longer) than the reset of the image on the hard drive. I ask because if there is difference, I'll try new DVD reset.

2-) when I check 256 GB SSD disk management I see the following disk partition (check the image below):
    [partition|postimg.org/image/57i99hsgr/]

Here, there are the OEM partition and the recovery Partition. What is the difference between these two? Should I have them both? They occupy too much space each more than 8 GB.

    In regard to point 1)

What software did you use to create the image after the update 8.1 Win?

The fact is that the Toshiba recovery image was preinstalled on the laptop and recover the laptop using the recovery media (disk or USB key) or by using the procedure of recovery Toshiba HDD would reset the computer laptop back to the factory settings; on the same State as at the first day of the purchase.

If you want to use another method of recovery or image, you reset draw the laptop to the State when the image was created.

    In regard to point 2)
Unfortunately, somehow the link to the screenshot does not work
However, as I said above: the Toshiba HDD recovery procedure redefines the laptop to factory settings and the recovery of image files is placed on a separate partition.
This partition is very important to perform HARD drive recovery and create additional recovery media.
This was the case for pre-installed Win 7 OS!

The other partition may be created by Windows system after Win 8.1 install.
I'm also a little confused about the image created...
It would also be possible that this OEM partition is related to the image that you created after the installation of Win 8.1.

In any case... it would be useful to know all the steps you did the upgrade...

by the way: I also recommend you read some threads/posts on the topic of recovery here in the forum... This should help you understand the whole process

  • Please help, Lightroom Catalog recovery methods.

    I currently use:

    -Macbook Pro

    -Lightroom 5

A week ago my Mac operating system crashed. I was able to recover data from my hard drive, including saved the 5 Lightroom catalog files. However, when I try to "import an another catalog" on the file menu of Lightroom, I get an error that says: "Lightroom cannot import of this catalogue the catalogue does not seem to be a valid Lightroom Catalog." The catalog has 346 MB of data, so I know there is data on the .lrcat file, but Lightroom does not allow me to open it. This is also the case when I try to import files from a previous backup .lrcat file that has only 96 MB. I set the admin, user, staff and all the privileges in reading & Wright, but I still cannot access any data in Lightroom. The .lrcat file is the only file in the backup folder. This is the case for each previous backup file and the Lightroom folder in the backup drive (I put these files for read & Wright so privileges).

Can someone please help me or give advice as to where I can find a service that will help me to get these settings to photo editing? I lost more than 7000 + pictures I need for work (I am a professional photographer).

Apart from allowing authorizations and re - install an older version of Lightroom, I don't know what else to try.

If anyone has had this problem before / is there a Lightroom Catalog recovery service who can help me?

    Thank you

    Wade

    Lightroom Catalog.jpg

    Lightroom Cannot Import.jpg

Yes, the same thought as before.

I don't think there is a way to make this catalog work.

Furthermore, copies made after a crash are not what I call backups. You need to make regular and automated backups of your files and catalog using the built-in functionality of Lightroom, you also want to check the box that says "Test integrity before Backing Up.

  • Recovery of WAP54G - must .bin file in sync - or a .trx SEU command line method.

Any chance that someone has an answer to this?

I saw the same question and but never answered.

I can't find all the "brick recovery methods require .bin files but not the .trx file.»

What a great job if I get something like dd - wrt...

However, in order to restore to a linksys firmware using a tftp Send WAP, I need the .bin file to sync I well... which seem to no longer exists.

Quick, I found some old links that gave details on how to get it back (old linksys links) but the ftp server that hosted these files no longer exists.

Any suggestions on where to find the .bin files or a recovery method using the new trx files?

use the web interface, or replace the device is simply a lousy option.

/Shrug everything ive tried does not work.  (including a version 1.0 and version 3.1) Yes 2 different routers.

If it uses the bin files I can recover very well... including the warranty voind jtag method.

Simply not an image provide Linksys (cisco), the TRX files.

the Open source versions work fine...

While WAP is not dead.   I can't use an official /shrug 'image '.

What im reading there is a very very small differences in the .trx .bin files from...

Think im stuck using dd - wrt for now.

BAH - after a final test... rename the .trx file .bin for sync... Flash as usual.

    wait 3-5 minutes

    and then

the IP address for the wireless est.245.1 not as I used too... the old version is still bounced a.1...

So yes the .trx will work...

  • Equium A200-1V0: is it possible to create a new Toshiba Recovery CD

    Hello

I just wanted to know on Equium A200-1V0 I'm able to make the recovery CDs and DVDs?
I just found this link (http://209.167.114.38/support/TechSupport/TSBs/ALL/-TSB001019.htm) that if I choose option 3 does that mean you can make CDs recovery and recovery dvd. This recovery method apply to Equium A200-1V0?

Second thing, it is that someone can tell me what type of card mother Equium A200-1V0, if possible to his specifications.

Last thing. When this model was released?

Well, I have this laptop but will buy the first week of the new year. Just do a little research.

Help with this will be appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hello

Don t think you will be able to create an own Toshiba Recovery CD.
In the document of Toshiba, you can see this info:

Only templates that come with it "Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility" (ie: Tecra A2)

It seems that the Equium A200 was already delivered with the Toshiba Recovery CD and you have no need to create a new.
The procedure described above applies to the Toshiba laptop computer which were delivered without the recovery CD

Best regards and happy new year ;)

  • Satellite L670-143 how to get the language selection during recovery?

    Hello

I just started my L670 for the first time today, I'm Dutch speaking so I chose "Dutch" (Nederlands) as the language of the interface for my Win7 installation. Shortly after installation, I noticed that the usual folders that I have on my main PC (English) were not there,

    instead of the file * / Users / * we created a folder * / Gebruikers / *.

Because I like to copy a lot of files / preferences of applications from my main PC to the laptop and I'm not comfortable with the Dutch interface, I would like to also the English interface.
For this purpose, I decided to do the system restore to choose English as the main language just as it is on my main PC, taking * 0 * when starting, select F8, click the method of complete recovery from Toshiba, but now I can no longer choose between * Dutch/French/English * as the language of the main interface and it installs automatically with the Dutch language.

How can I do the complete factory restore then I have the choice of the language back, so I can install English please?

Please, if anyone knows how I can get back the language selection of interface with the Toshiba recovery method?

    Hello

As far as I know, you can choose the language of the system only once at the start of the laptop for the first time.

I think this laptop model was launched in three different countries and that's why you can choose your preferred language for the first time. After that, the selected language will still be available on the HARD disk, but other languages would be disabled.

Maybe you can order a disk recovery in English from here:

  • Incomplete recovery of 17 HP envy touchsmart

    I have a laptop HP Envy Touchsmart product model E1P14AV 17 t-j100 number 17.

I'm trying to restore to the factory via a USB port, but get incomplete restoration. I tried all the methods of the HP recovery method and all three gave the same answer. It runs through everything and reload the software but gives this answer. If I click on try again it tells me to insert the recovery media.

Try changing the date in the BIOS to 01/01/2012. Save & Exit. Boot from recovery and to run the process-, but on the first reboot, it initiates enter the BIOS to ensure the update is still. If so let recovery resume - if not change again, then restart.

  • Creation of recovery disks without the ability to boot - Satellite L300

    Hello!

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L300-139 (Vista, 160GG, 2 GB of memory).

Hard drive has been damaged (when Vista starts, the system won't start at all, and each time only a white screen with the mouse arrow is shown--> tried all the choice + start PE etc but there is no access to the Recovery Console) and it doesn't have the ability to run the CHKDSK command to resolve this problem.

No recovery disk was created when the computer was new.

I removed the hard drive laptop and plugged into my desktop computer, but 2 partitions on 3 were damaged, and I managed to recover data, including:

    c:\Program Toshiba
    d:\HDDRecovery

Data recovery was made using www.sysresccd.org and external USB hard drive.

I copied all the data on the USB drive and run program TRORDCLauncher (run as administrator). He didn't he removes my vista DVD player and it fails with the error (rough translation):
"Another process is using the drive or there is no available disks. Check the status of the drive. [OK] »

It seems that the recovery of the Images have been created with Windows PE 2.0 tools (Imagex), but that the data is spread around the files I was able to manually create the recovery disks.

Ideas and knowledge how to create diskettes of recovery with this data, what I have or what I need to order the DVD and wait a few weeks before sunrise to new system?

    Thank you!

    -L

    PS.
If anyone knows a nice solution for Microsoft CHKDSK running to my computer, I would be happy! Tried: PE starts (versions of Vista and xp) + all recovery methods that were available in my computer... a Simple boot with sata support and run CHKDSK ISO image would be nice!

Sorry but there is no chance that you can create recovery DVDs. Recovery DVDs can be created if you use creator only Toshiba Recovery tool and unfortunately there is no way to do it.

Using F8 HARD drive recovery procedure can work only if the HARD drive configuration is not modified (new operating system installed), the HARD drive recovery folder must be placed on the second partition.
So with short words, you can do this only if the laptop to factory settings. Now, you can't do anything other than the original new order DVD of recovery for this model of laptop.

If you want to do this you can order under https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

  • G62 bios recovery failed

I have a big problem with my laptop:

    HP g62-b04SL

    Series {removed privacy}

I deleted all partitions and I installed ubuntu. Due to a problem with the brightness keys, I read on the web that someone tried to upgrade the bios. But without windows (not), I'm updating the bios with the rescue procedure: WIN + B key to start and a new fat32 bios USB.

So now my pc is dead

I read this website of hp recovery method:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02723600

    (1) HP_TOOLS partition is erased.

    (2) I did not understand if the USB SHOULD be bootable.

    (3) where I can find the good bios?

Here, I found two bios version (no job):

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=4062&LC=it&CC=it&DLC=it&sw_lang=&product=4301...

    (4) this tool do not write on the "current" folder in the USB

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-92987-1&CC=it&DLC=it&LC=it&...

    (5) when I try WIN + B procedure I see the flashing on key usb but nothing appen.

The cost of care is probably greater than the value of the laptop. So I use it as a paperweight?

    Thanks, Nicola.

I solved my problem here (without any form of help HP):

    http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/35272-HP-Insyde-BIOS-recovery-steps/page5

The 01439.fd of the bios are encrypted by hp so that we can use to record our laptop.

Fortunately, someone has created a tool of Salvation: phoenixtool211

With this tool, you can decript the 01439.fd file and get our .bin and .sig files. Please see the link above.

  • Access to the OE 6 dbx file recovery

I just opened OE6 and noticed that over a third of my local files dbx are missing.  They appear in the box of identities, however.  This happened after OE my files compressed the previous night.  I also just learned that the OE has a 2G file size limit.  My total files 3.1 G, but this has never been a problem in the past.  OS is XP.  Can someone give me some gudance?  Thank you.  Mary

Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :
    http://www.insideoe.com/FAQs/why.htm#compact

    Recovery methods:

If you are running XP/SP3, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

Note: If you have new messages in the folder you are go restore, move them to a folder first created user, or they will be lost. They can be moved once the old posts have been restored.

Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:

DBXpress run in extract disc Mode is the best chance to recover messages:
    http://www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/default.aspx

A general warning to help avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently.

  • Recovery BIOS dv6 - 1247cl - Help update!

I am a professional person THERE who can not find a valid way of correcting a bad BIOS update.  I downloaded the latest BIOS online, only to have Flash my BIOS and in the end, freeze my laptop.  I left the laptop for an entire day, until that I had no choice but to unplug the unit turns off.  Now I have a laptop Bricked through Hewlett Packard.   The BIOS update is a package of Insyde.  I tried to put the BIOS file, I took out of the folder and tried to rename it to 3623.BIN and put on a USB Thum Drive AND even tried it on a CD - R.  Disconnected the battery and the power cord, then tried to turn on the laptop with the PEN drive installed, hold down the WINDOWS key + B key, as I read everywhere on the internet and also tried the method 4 ARROWS and even the ESC + FN and FN + B keys.  NOTHING HAS WORKED.  The laptop beeps SOUND repeat when lit and seems NEVER to play the CD or the USB key and close the CAP LOCK and NUM LOCK light just flashes after the approximately 10 beeps stop... anyone know how really solve this problem?  Believe me, I've read all over the Internet and everyone seems to have the USB STICK to boot on their DV6-XXXX models, but no one has confirmed this works on the model DV - 1247CL.   Seems like my last resort would be to send the laptop to someone who claims that they reprogram the BIOS in laptops for $100 + shipping... so it's $150 when I have a big feeling that they would do a recovery method that I can not make it work.  The HD has been deleted, so there's no EFI partition as a validation request he needs for the method WINDOWS + B works.  Any case, I have a laptop brick beep and I got mad HP is USELESS even responds to emails.   Maybe they'll wake up when someone sues them and it becomes a class action.   The FLASH worked, but then NEVER rebooted my laptop and has frozen, now it's a brick.  Any help would be appreciated because of all the methods I read did NOT work on mine.

THE FIXED!  * beep *... took forever.  To start, my keychain Thumbnail-Sized Patriot-brand USB 4 GB drive has not been recognized by the laptop, so I tried a normal size 8 GB Memorex and it worked.  I'm not sure what makes the work, but I've mostly renamed my file 3623.bin for EACH product listed in the original softpaq platform.ini file (3623-3629) and also had .fd and ROM renames on the USB drive too to 100%.  I also did the Hewlett-Packard\BIOS\current and Hewlett\BIOS\previous records and the record of SystemDiag made by the UEFI utility that I have listed.  My computer seemed a beep every 5 seconds for about 5 minutes, until finally it stops.  When I turned it back on, it says my CMOS was disabled and I back when asked, rebooted, and not, I get the BIOS screen!  Finally!

  • How can I recover my favorites from the previous version of Firefox?

I just loaded the new version of Firefox. My Favorites from the previous version have disappeared. How can I get back them? I went through the provided recovery method, nothing.

Do you still have backups of bookmark in the bookmarkbackups folder?

You have an "Old data Firefox" folder on the desktop in the case where you have refreshed Firefox and created a new profile?

You can retrieve the form of the data of the 'Old Firefox Data' folder, but be careful.

You can copy files like these in your current Firefox profile folder.

    • bookmarks/history: backups in the bookmarkbackups folder and perhaps places.sqlite, if you really need the history
    • other SQLite files cookies.sqlite (cookies) and formhistory.sqlite (saved form data)
    • logins. JSON and signons3.txt (decryption key) of the saved passwords in password manager
    • Permissions.SQLite and, possibly, content - prefs.sqlite permissions and Site preferences
    • cert8. DB for stored intermediate certificates (Certificate Manager)
    • sessionstore.js to open and pinned tabs and tab groups
    • Persdict.dat for the words that you added to the spelling dictionary

Note that "Reset/Refresh" creates a new default profile with a time stamp to identify it and trying to retrieve settings such as Favorites and history and history and cookies and passwords, data of automatic filling of the old profile, but you lose data such as the installed extensions and other customizations.
The current profile folder will be moved to the "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop.
