W510 restarts erratically

After sorting on the bad memory modules causing sporadic restarts my system is always showing behavior strange but much more less than before...

Sometimes the laptop restarts when I work with her without warning, this happens maybe once every 3 days so it is very rarely, it happens but annoys the hell out of me, because the system is not reliable.

Everyone has experienced these problems?

My wife has a touch screen of HP under Vista Home Premium.  The machine has a wireless internet connection, and often it does not recognize the connection on a cold, start although it will usually recognize on a subsequent reboot.  In addition, these past few weeks (since she loaded Explorer 9) we get a blue screen with the message BUGCODE USB DRIVER.  The only USB devices she has are his keyboard and wireless mouse.  In Device Manager, they are marked by the little exclamation point indicating a driver issue, but when you try to download the current driver, Windows says that the driver is fine.  And when you stop the machine and bring it up, the problem often - disappears until the next crash.  What gives?

  • My Apple Magic Mouse 2 is erratic, its moving very slowly or not at all.

My Magic Mouse 2 is erratic, it sometimes does not move or moves very slowly.  I tried to log on to Apple Support without success as accessories do not seem to be supported.  Does anyone have a suggestion?  I have changed the speed of follow-up, recharging the mouse via bluetooth, rebooted, not everything works.  Scrolling works fine, but when I move the mouse it move step or move slowly.  I use a pad, just to make sure this isn't a surface issue.

I'm curious to know if your problem persists on the mouse pad? I also use a mouse pad. Mine is a black steelseries all mats. I bought it when I bought my MM2 nearly two months. Before this week, I had when the mouse pointer is frozen on the screen or moved very slowly for a period of time. The problem solved always himself, after a brief period. Starting this week I twice when the pointer is locked horizontally. He moves laterally, but not vertically. I moved it out of the mouse pad, and it worked perfectly. Back on the shelf, it is still stuck horizontally. By turning the MM2/turn off had no effect. I rebooted and everything worked again. Spend a day or two, and it does again. I was not in a place to do a restart and continued to work on the mouse pad. After a few moments I am back on the mouse pad and it works again. It has been working fine since then. I have reviewed the MM2 lens, but it seems normal. He had been recently charged then the power should not be a problem. With the exception of those troubles it works much better that my original Messrs. Pour memory, I use a Mac mini (end 2012) OS X 10.11.2 with updates that have been offered. I did a general search of this issue and your description seems close, I could find to issue messages so far.

  • New W510, update the BIOS - black screen on startup - guaranteed?

    Hi all!

I got a new W510 and decided to update the BIOS via the executable Windows 7 provided by Lenovo for their support-web. The program is run properly (all green checkmarks), the machine has been restarted and then stopped and started again - but she never stopped showing the "ThinkPad" screen POST. The machine started throwing his fans after some time and the machine felt hot enough it is up to the right. I waited a bit (say 4-5 minutes) if there was some additional BIOS update which took place, but nothing happened after a while, I decided to stop it. Now when I boot, the screen is all black.

This will cover in the included warranty? It must be, right?

Sorry for my late reply. As I think it is clear from my earlier post, there was still no way to load default BIOS that the screen went black as soon as I started the machine.

Two days later from my first message I sent it in for repair. Almost 4 weeks after and TWO motheboards (first one was apparently DOA) later, the machine works now. As it seems, Lenovo had some problems for spare parts quickly enough because it took almost 2-3 weeks just to get the first map of mother (DOA).

Anyway, even if it took some time, I can now enjoy my new machine

  • W510s question, docking station and the blue screen

I have 4 W510s that works perfectly when undocked, but when it is docked, that they either a blue screen when you use them, or hang after loading windows page (just has a display empty afte RL loading page), or after the page load they restart Windows.

I've updated the bios, updated graphics drivers,.

Please I need help on this

I would be really appreciated it

    Thank you

they have all their own separate docks.

But anyway, I found the answer, I downloaded the updated nvidia driver since

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook-Win7-WinVista-64bit-275.33-WHQL-driver.html

and they all work very well now.

I always thin it's weird that they all had this problem at the same time, I guess it's a windows update that has been deployed which triggered it.

but thanks for your concern, duly appreciated.

Whithout touching anything, it start moving on screen, pressing applications, menus, and the keys on the keyboard. • Synaptics touchpad - erratic cursor behavior

On my Compaq Presario CQ56 (Win7 64 bit) sometimes, the cursor jumps around erratically, usually to the top of the screen that I try to move the cursor down. An external mouse, it works very well. I have the latest version of the driver (15.1.6.64), and I fiddled with the settings of control without result Panel. Sometimes it works fine and I tried to correlate the time that it is wrong with everything I do when this happens (for example if it happens after the laptop has been for a long time) but no luck so far (and in particular, it may happen now, I open the lid or after 10 hours of use). It makes no difference how hard or soft as I press, whose fingers are used, if the rest of my hand is far...

I also discovered something interesting. In the device settings page, the edge Motion option is disabled. However, under region Motion edge there is a diagram that shows where your finger on the touchpad. Under normal circumstances, the position of the finger is correctly reported, and the mouse cursor also moves that I have spend my finger. When the cursor is wrong, touch the top of the touch pad shows that he thinks that my finger is down. Left and right movements are traced with some degree of accuracy. Because I move my finger down, it suddenly jumps to show that my finger is on the top. Put it down, and yet once it pops up. Meanwhile the mouse hardly moves at all, which seems to indicate that the driver don't is not the operating system to generate messages of mouse movement.

    Any ideas?

In desperation I completely uninstalled the Synaptics driver, and I now have a touchpad that follows actually just my finger instead of developing its own ideas to dominate the world. It was a bit of a struggle to convince Windows 7 (which has also its own agenda to dominate the world) that I wanted to remove the driver completely, but now I'm using the mouse Microsoft PS - 2 vanilla driver has nothing fancy features which I never use and which seem only to lead to complications, Synaptics bug code and a lot of grief for their unwitting victims.

Before I uninstalled the Synaptics driver, I continued my comments and noticed that the touchpad seems to work reliably after a restart, until I right click on it. I could imagine that, and I'm certainly not trying to confirm leaving a team of Synaptics software geniuses near my machine again for some time. Still, someone else could benefit from observation. You never know.

    Serve and enjoy, Synaptics.

  • Random blocking - W510, Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid

    Hello

I was faced with a problem in which case my W510 becomes inadmissible at the keyboard or mouse entry and must be restarted. This happens from 4 to 6 times a day.

I couldn't put my finger on what makes it, then post it here in case others have had similar symptoms.

I'm on 64-bit Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid). The symptom of the hang is as follows:

-always active mouse pointer can be moved across the screen]

-(sometimes) the mouse pointer shows the little hand grasping the hand such as the one displayed when you try to move a window (not the normal pointer)

-ctrl-alt-del doesn't do anything, or none of the keys alt - Fx, or ctrl-break etc.

-they have a USB key connected to ports USB LHS

    -Sometimes the subsequent startup crashes

-Sometimes the flight caps lock flashes on and outside, but not always

-There is nothing obvious in/var/log indicating a kernel panic or such other event

The fact that the problem is w.r.t. a bit sticky at the next boot gives to think it might be an overheating issue, but I don't currently have a way to measure this. Are there tools that monitor CPU temperature and the newspaper?

I would be interested to know if there is no diagnosis or I can activate traces that might give me a better understanding of what is happening.

The problem with the resolution that I've connected with has been set using configuration of the display resolution using the Ubuntu default display configuration tool, not the Nvidia tool.

    (BTW: the resolution is 1600 x 900, 1600 x 1200, as I have indicated by mistake).

  • Touchpad became erratic on laptop COMPAQ 2000.

The touchpad has become erratic during use - the cursor does not move exactly as you wish. As repair is expensive, I bought a mouse. But still, when you type, if the touchpad is hit by accident, then as everything can get it done - for example, highlighting a group of words, movement, arrow page, etc. So, I would like to know if there is a function or any other means on this laptop (Compaq 2000) key to toggle the touchpad. TouchFreeze was proposed, but it doesn't sove the problem.

    Hello

    ·          What version of the operating system is running on your computer?

You can go ahead and uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the touchpad in Device Manager.

    To uninstall the touchpad drivers,

    a. Click Start, type device manager in the search box of start and press ENTER.

    b. search for mice and other pointing devices and expand the same.

    c. right click on the driver of the touchpad and choose uninstall.

  • My W510 Iconia Tablet won't boot to the top.

I had my W510 Iconia for barely a year.  I use it for business travel because it is light and compact.  I am a very "basic" user - email, internet browsing, that's all.

One day, I went to start my Tablet and it never reached the homepage - the "twirling circle" (to show the wait time was necessary) just kept on twirling.  It never started again.

Does anyone have any ideas at all as to why that would be, or if there is anything I can do?

Can now try the power button for 20-30 seconds and force a shutdown. Then wait 10 seconds before trying to restart. Sometimes they just in an infinite loop on start.

  • W510: Can I move files on my SDHC card / Driver Booster 3 problems.

    Hello.

For $90, I bought an ACER W510. He is old for a few years, and not the fastest tablet on the planet, but what I do, it's good.

I bought a Lexmark 16 GB SDHC card in the hopes that I could drag and drop files on it and free up space. Is this possible? If no, what is the point of having a?

Also, I installed Driver Booster 3. While it has installed the drivers, he started the stop. As I restart the Tablet, he got as far as the front login screen he began to close again.

After restoring to factory settings, it works again but what caused this?

    Thank you!

Of course, you can put most of the things on the SD card. Not the OS itself, but all your documents, music, etc., and the programs you install yourself. I would avoid moving files temporary systems, such as virtual memory, on the SD card, because it's going to be a little slower than the SSD. It is best to put things less often used on the map and leave what you use often on the main drive.

  • Touchpad Iconia W510 turns off when the battery dies

I know this isn't the best subject line, but he described a kind of my problem.

My W510 Iconia came with Win 8 when new and then the empty Tablet two batteries so that I could use the touchpad for as long as I could use the device. Drained the battery of the keyboard first of all, there's enough juice to keep the touchpad and keyboard work and then switched to the battery of the tablet. When I closed the lid it load the battery in the keyboard shelf. Neat.

When I upgraded to 8.1 win he has changed so that it now would drain the keyboard battery almost completely and thus stops the touchpad. Sill keyboard works, however. Is not treated, it is a step backward and very annoying.

This turns a laptop very versatile and ergonomic for a tablet with a keyboard for about 50% of his total time of battery, which is a long time for this device. The only way using the touchpad is to charge the battery of the keyboard more than x % (when it is unplugged the touchpad up 0% works). I haven't checked how I need to load the keyboard in order to get the touchpad working again. I write this as it Chargers and 15% is still not restarting the touchpad, I guess I have to restart.

The other week I upgraded to Windows 10 and Win 8.1 behavior continues.

Of course, all the drivers and updates from Windows Update are installed and uptodate.

Y at - it a fix, a driver that it cures, a power setting which prevents the tablet to completely drain the batteries in the keyboard?

    Thanks for your time!

Because I failed to locate the drivers for the touchpad and reinstall so I used the system restore feature.

Curiously enough the touchpad began immediately the work during the restore process while restoring the system itself ended with a message that it was unable to restore Windows to an earlier version of point as no changes have been identified.

Well, everything is working now, so, my lesson is that the system restore can restore drivers and relaunch devices Device Manager can not find.

  • Iconia W510 and Windows 8.1 RTM

Hi, I tried to install Windows RTM 8.1 x 86 US of the official ISO image of Microsoft on my W510 Iconia (created the bootable flash drive), the installation worked, but the problem is that a lot of missing drivers or not after the initial installation.

I tried to apply the latest pack of pilot of pilot site of Acer, which is designed for Windows 8, but after restarting that the Tablet is most likely stuck in infinity driver GPU reboot loop, all I see is black screen and start bar blinks every second.

So the question is how to do a clean install of Windows 8.1 GTR on Iconia W510? Or should I wait until the correct driver pack for Windows 8.1 is out?

    Thank you

I just want to jump in to clarify, Windows 8.1 is not released to the public and we don't post drivers or provide support for the operating system until it is officially released by Microsoft. Pilots and other media will be available on our support to http://www.acer.com site as soon as they are available after the launch.

  • ICONIA W510 error at startup

When I turn on my Tablet I get message that a reboot was done because of errors. Details gave the following list

    C:\Windows\Minidump\063013-12703-01.dmp
    C:\users\helja\appdata\local\temp\wer-31921-0.SysData.XML
    C:\Windows\MEMORY. DMP

(numeric codes in the first two files vary different starts)

The Tablet works normally after this error message.

Same kind of problem occurs when, for example after an update installation etc. a reboot is required. Tablet gives a message that he had some problems at the restart and now to resolve these errors. "Driver_Power_State_Failure" message. After that this tablet starts normally.

I tried to clean boot. I have disabled the Microsoft Services and in addition to that also the following items at startup

    Persistence module
    igfxTray Module
    Hkcmd Module
Adobe Reader and Acrobat Manager (2)
    Acer Backup Manager
    Intel DPTF LPM Service Helper

After that, I did the reboot all disabled people and no error message this time.

Then I enabled Services and retired the machine again. NO ERRORS. After that the error returned when starting.

I have installed drivers package version 2.12

    Any suggestions?

-Updated drivers, bios, and firmware (do with W510 taken on AC/DC).

-Uninstall unused programs one by one and restart every time for the test.

    -Disabled anti-virus.

-In the command line (admin), use chkdsk /r and chkdsk /f and sfc/scannow

-Use Memtest86 (or similar) to test your RAM (it's very long).
