    Hello

I am the owner of a toshiba satellite U200-162 (core solo T1300).
I buyed it two weeks before the release of U200 163 :-(
I would like to know if the motherboard will accept change by a processor T2300E or T2400 processor (then, dual core)?
I think it's possible because U200-162 and 163 U200 have exactly the same hardware config/BIOS. But it would be nice to have your opinion ;)

  • Change processor, 1801 - Microcode Patch error.

    Hello world

I changed the processor on my HP SFF 4000 (decommissioning the core 2 duo E7500 to a core 2 duo E6300, I need the E7500 in another computer) and I get this nasty 1801 - Microcode Patch error.

I can't get into the bios, or do anything.

I can press F1 to jump, then computers goes to windows but switches off the power in an emergency a minute later.

I guess I can have Flash my bios, but if someone can lead me to detailed instructions and a download link to a bios that supports the E6300 for my SFF 4000, I would be really grateful!

    Thanks in advance!

  • Satellite M65-S809: change in CPU Question

I have toshiba satellite M65-S809 CPU pentium M740. I would like to change processor pentium M770. Can I do this? What is the highest quality of CUT, I can go to?

    Hello

THEORETICAL, it s possible. If you are a technician who is familiar with these machines, which has the appropriate tools (a few special screwdriver, the right stick, cooling...) and the know-how to disassemble and reassemble the machine, the software that is necessary to reconfigure the Bios (because of the new processor) and if you don t mind not you won´t have a performance huge gain then feel free to do so.

In practice, it s is not possible, since you really won´t benefit from the upgrade to next available processor, which in your case, already one of the top-of-the-cream...

So, if I were you I do so wouldn.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite Pro S500-115 - recovery media

    Hello

We bought a toshiba satellite pro S500-115, and we are very disappointed!
In the first two months, I brought to service three times, because it was freezing up to a few hours.
Finally, they changed processor and motherboard.

    Then, the major problem appeared.
I could not do before recovery media, because of the freezing, but now the official service has also removed the hard drive - just in case...
So, I have media recovey, may not be downloaded, or other media of Win7 do not accept the number of bellows.

I send mail for help several times at the headquarters of toshiba, but they just don't care! I discovered that I have to pay extra to get the media - but I already bought system! It's really shiiit, and I do not suggest my clients to buy anything from Toshiba.

I don't really like their atitude. they just want to sell, but then they just don't care, * are!

Mate of the really sad story
I think you should get in touch with a local ASP in your country.
As far as I know in many (perhaps all) European countries you will find subsidiary of Toshiba and I think EPA should be able to transmit to the Toshiba in your country.

    Good luck man

PS: I got some problems with my laptop and my PSA has been very helpful. I was very satisfied, how the issue has been addressed

  • How does the Activation of Windows XP?

I want to know how activation works because

I want to reinstall Windows XP in my system.

I have the Original XP SP2 CD
I use the Core 2 Duo system.
Now I change processor Quad Core and also 1 TB hard drive
If I do a new installation from the CD will once again, it will activate, or there will be no problem.

It is the key that is most important.

In your current installation, click Start

    Right click on my computer

    Select Properties.

Look at the display product ID

If the second group is - OEM character - then it is an OEM license and key, which can not be moved.

just about anything else can be moved.

If you want confirmation, according to a report of MGADiag...

To analyze and solve problems for Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag (download and save to the desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 ) tool
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the button continue, which will produce the report.
To copy the report in your response, click the button copy in the tool (ignore the error at this stage), and then paste (using r-click and paste or Ctrl + V) in your response.
-* in your own thread *, please

Please also state the Version and edition of Windows cited on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case with your machine, but do NOT quote the key on the sticker!

  • Windows want to activate... once again...

    Hi all!

A few days ago I had to replace my card mother, also changed processor and graphics card.

Anyway, what happends is. Now my windows want to activate again, and I can't use my key. He says he only wants another. You now have 3 days or it will be impossible to certain windows features. I tried to turn it on several times.

    So no solution?

    Tounsiiaa

BTW if this can help. I have Windows Vista Ultimate 64.

You must enable maually.  By changing the motherboard, it is a zone of gray or not the OEM license is still valid (it is fine if you bought a copy of Vista retail), but it's worth a try.

To activate manually, go to start, search, and type in slui 4 enter.  Enter your country and press Next.  You will be on a screen with a phone number and a bunch of codes below.  Dial the number and browse automatic guests until you get to a human being.  Have your handy product code because it will be asked.  Explain the situation, but it's the same PC and only installed on this PC.  They should give you a code to enter on this screen to activate Vista.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • OptiPlex 760 minitower QuadCore

    Hello

I have an Optiplex 760 minitower.

I discovered that I have a 0G214D motherboard. Unfortunately I still don't know if it means I can go to a Quad core. Can you please tell me if this is the case and who is the most powerful Quad Core I can use? And if not the Dual cores wich I should use. BTW, I use a Nvidia GTX750ti using 60W.

    Thanks and good luck

    http://www.Dell.com/downloads/AP/products/Optix/optix_760_tech_guide.PDF

Q9650 is max.  The BIOS update should be done before attempting to change processor.

750 TI only fits into the TOWER, and only after cutting off support and with ONLY a few cards with 1 fan max aka 8.4 inches.

There are very few simple cards slot.   If one has been in they hacked the support in half or deleted support entirely.  If you remove the bracket on the EVGA models you can use a shears tinsmith to CUT OFF half of the support.  The ventilation openings are blocked, so you may need to drill holes in the case of clear air.  Maps of long with 2 fans DON'T FIT and WILL NEVER FIT in the tower or any other size.

Only a few cards with a few fans to adapt.

  • Why it is more possible to cutomise Dell computers?

Over the years, I bought 7 different computers from Dell, and the reasons for the man to have chosen Dell were:

    1. the fact that you can create a customized version - e.g. change processor or adding memnory to get exactly the required configuration.

2 Dell seemed still more advantageous to office for money than other providers.

I am now looking for another couple of computers and am disappointed to discover that rof neithe that above seem to be true.

The price is still reasonable, but is better than its competitors, but the biggest problem is that ease of construction custom seems to have disappeared to be replaced by the same set of pre-configured models which can be picked up in a computer store.  Pretty much the only option that is available is the color of the case (which, with any sense, cares about the color of a computer) and to add a set of expensive devices.

The base installation of custom build which has always been strongest selling point of Dell is spent.

    Why?

Wow, this is very useful.  So what you're saying, is that Dell is placed in the path of the 1980s, ordering things over the phone.  They already had their online Configurator available in the end of the 1990s.  It was part of the interest of their business model.  Easy to use, no relative to the menus of the phone and hold the button once.  No dealing with a sales person who doesn't even understand the basic techniques.  I don't want to lose 30-45 minutes on the phone trying to see if someone might be able to customize something.

I fear that the current state of their online system is probably the result of an attempt to limit the types of transactions, people can get.  What used to be coupons that have been good on any custom system is now valid on a single preconfigured machine.  So if you want a better processor or a different amount of memory, you're out of luck.  If you want to downgrade a component to save even more money, not a deal for you.

Almost all links to "Customize" a model on their Web site now allows you to do little more than change the warranty terms or add accessories.  At least for desktop computers and laptops.  The servers seem a little more configurable.

I miss the way things were about 6 years ago.

  • Update of PC with Win 7 boot

I'm making a general modernisation on a desktop PC (MB, CPU, memory) but retaining the hard existing (already updated). I change processor brand so I am advised to perform a boot from the drive Win7 when I start if the system does not start properly. Y at - it something I need to do to ensure the restart works outside of the disc - it is a single license purchase pukka CD used to upgrade the XP machine when the HD has been changed.

Once you change the motherboard its very unlikely the PC will start using the existing Windows 7 hard disk. You are better off making the new Windows installation and then install new chipset drivers and the device of the motherboard.

As long as what you buy is 'no' an OEM version, you should be able to reactivate Windows. OEM versions are related to the 1st motherboard they are installed and can not be moved to another motherboard.
