W530 Display FRU

Hello

Anyone know where to find the number of RUF of the screen

of a W530? I can't find.

Thanks for your help

mitch1995

Good day and welcome to the community.

You can see the FRU (last page) parts list:

http://download.Lenovo.com/parts/ThinkPad/w530_fru_list_20131007.PDF

to see the range of parts which have been set up in the W530.

You may be able to tell what part was in your machine factory construction by visiting the page of parts search:

http://support.Lenovo.com/en_US/product-and-parts/partsLookup.page

I hope this helps a little.

Kind regards.

  • W530 and Mini Docking Station - monitor not displaying at boot time

I have a W530 (2441A 53) and I just the mini docking station for it (433835U). We are using PGP Desktop, then when I start my laptop, it prompts me for a PGP password. The monitor does not display it for me at all. I have to go to the laptop, open it and enter the password (well, actually, I think I can probably get on the keyboard that I use with the monitor, but I don't see what is happening, and the docking station is in an uncomfortable situation). Once I get the password, and the machine gets more in the boot process, and then the screen finally shows what happens, and it's very well after this point (well, not exactly - it is not about taking advantage of the resolution of my screen - but I am not concerned about it right now).

Is there a setting I should do in the BIOS, Control Panel, etc., so that the monitor can function during startup?

In the BIOS, set the graphic display to the detection of Optimus discreet and set to 'disabled '.

  • W530 - question 4 display

Going through the Lenovo Web site, I see that it is announced that the W530 can drive 4 screens. The announcement of cradle says he can manage two views. It's my guess that only 2 displays can be driven from the dock and two for the W530 himself.

Is this correct? I would like to know for sure before I buy.

According to the docking station you have. You can drive 3 external monitors from the dock, linking two of the LCD display to DVI/DP ports and one vga port.

Your 4 th monitor should run from the internal LCD display or the display port on the laptop itself.

  • Problem display and brightness on the W530

How do I change the brightness on my W530? Unable to find all the settings for that. It always starts with the highest brightness (15) and I'm not able to reduce it.

I suspect that something is wrong with the monitor of the clam. I use a lot my laptop for photo and image editing. I noticed that he has often square visible pixel on a lot of paintings. Even on high resolution images. I also see this squares or boxes when you watch HD videos.

Is it possible because the brightness is maximum?

If I could only figure out how to change the brightness, I'd see if this problem is solved also.

Those are artifacts of compression and a video property or the image itself. You would need higher-bitrate video to compensate.

Advanced algorithms release may be able to compensate well. Here's a quick overview:

In terms of brightness, have you installed Lenovo Power Manager?

  • W530 first steps

    Hi all

I'm new to Lenovo family and have recently bought W530, i7, 1 TB HDand 8 GB of RAM. The machine was delivered, but there is no user guide or no matter what warranty guide. I have completely no idea where to find all the required information. While this subject stated as "first step". Please, guide and let me know what to do next.

    Already installed Windows 7 OS.

I also have ideas family of dual-boot LINUX OS installation. So please let me know what family of Linux is good because I'm not cmpletely one GUI I want to see some terminals too :-)

Hello and congratulations for your W530.

    The user guide is here:

    T530/W530 user guide

Any Linux distribution works very well on the W520/W530, I use Fedora myself, but I know others

using Ubuntu/Mint and other institutions. The only problem is that the Optimus double display

installation of the adapter is not working properly under linux, last I checked. But you can set it just be

the integrated (Intel HD) or discrete graphics (nVidia) only in the BIOS, that one you need.

  • W530 Radio wireless light

When you use the Fn + F5 to open the app to wireless radios, and then disable you only the wireless radio (alt - R) the display of the wireless radio (bottom of the screen) does not turn off. I know on my W500 for this. Is this a software bug?

On my W530, antenna-LED is shared for the wireless and Bluetooth. I need to disable both of them, then the light is off. If I activate one of them or both, the light is on.

  • Replacement of the joint for W530

    Hi all

A few months ago, in this forum, I asking me for information about the compatibility of signs for the wince my Panel W530, AUO B156HTN01, is a less powerful Panel. I get the contrast ratio is less than 400: 1 (average 330:1) and color cast I get is too blue. While I have a laugh X i1 Display Pro to correct the pitches with the LUT of the graphics card, I still have problems with the angles of vision (very bad) and a bit of a magenta cast and the low level of contrast as well as the screen door effect which is annoying in white or near white surfaces.

I'm a photographer and I would approve this computer for work on the field and color delicate work, but the difference between this and my NEC monitor is too big to ignore. So, in the hope that the v4 or v7 will improve things compared to the Panel that gave me, I feel as if I had nothing much to lose.

So, I investigated a bit trying to get their hands on a v4 B156HW01 panel or a v7 (brilliant with better contrast than v4) and increasingly used those cannibalized from other systems, I was never able to get a good replacement.

So far. I managed to get an old stock seller through a contact in Asia and will get a v7 v4s being really out of stock everywhere wherever I can find. Those who try to sell you v4s you will likely receive a "compatible" part... but not the same panel.

I know that brilliant is not everyone and it's certainly not mine, but I have colleagues who work with happiness on their macs very bright and while they dislike screens nice masts, chandelier did not prevent any of them to work. The difference of color in the B156HTN01 permanently prevents me from working so I'll give that a go. Better precision on glossy paper is better that a shit mate.

I will post differences on a before and after the State of the computer. To make it fair, I'm going to re - install everything (windows and batch) to ensure that any previous color calibration is left on this computer to change the perception of the signs.

If anyone in the United Kingdom or HAD is interested, I'd be happy to get another, and we can divide the total. The panels would come to England so if you are in the European Union you need cover shipping from me to you.

    Final part.

For anyone in England, be aware that your package may take about 10 days to pass customs and an extra 48 hours to Parcelforce to deliver the parcel.

So, after this long wait, I received the new v7 Panel and began to make the Exchange.

Before that, however, to give the Panel a B156HTN01 fair to prove himself, I took some pictures with the Lenovo default color management profile. See the first launch of two images, blue, from two angles.

Now to my point of view, I ran a quick profile with the largest range of i1 Profiler (Yes, I know it has its drawbacks, but for a quickie profile is not horribly wrong and the contrast ratio is persistent)

    This is the result.

See here the contrast ratio is 247: 1... very bad.

I followed the video of this gentleman to do the Exchange.

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=Igk0MiqZ_ck

To take the bezel out, however, I used a lens clening Microfiber cloth to place my fingers between the screen and the bezel and he jumped in an easier way than shown in this video. So if you go by with the spirit which.

Tests after replacement to see if it works.

    Glossy screen W530

Profile color management on the new vs NEC PA241w v7 for reference monitor (the NEC screen is calibrated to 6500 k, range of the aRGB and gamma 2.2) by default

Now, with DispcalGUI takes some time, but, since we want to measure the success or failure of the new Panel v7, I ran it. The following screenshot shows the almost corresponding screens with the v7 and NEC monitor AFTER profliing with DispcalGUI.

I was a little tired so I missed the horizontal framing for these two pictures. It is the report of DiscalpGUI.

Mind the 632:1 now and the black luminance contrast ratio is not too bad to 0.2 cd/m2. It is not a contrast ratio impressive many screens of 1000 +: 1 of today, but it's very good for a 2 year Panel, able to display most of the Adobe RGB color range as seen in this comparison with the NEC Spectraview graph. DispcalGUI for v7 on the left and for NEC PA241w Spectraview on the right.

On DispcaGUI, the dotted line represents the spectrum AdobeRGB and Spectraview is the yellow line.

    Not bad, huh?

  • New options of Board of Directors system for w530

Hi all - I've got w530 2436-CTO that probably needs a new main Board. He post, and when the memory is removed it gives a beep code manual says is the module DIMM or system board. I believe that my card system FRU is 04 x 1505, but I can't find anywhere to buy this part. How can I understand that other replaceable units on site are compatible? For example, I see lots of places selling 04 x 1547.

    A Lenovo doc describes 04 x 1505 as PLN Q1 AMTC-y y - TPM and the 04 x 1547 as PL Q3 W8 nAMTyTPM.

    Any thoughts? Thank you guys.

  • trying to support a 3-screen desktop via hdmi and vga on the w530

Hello. Can I extend my W530 Win8.1 display to a monitor Dell via HDMI or a HP via VGA monitor, but not both simultaneously. If I plug both monitors at the same time, then the HP goes to sleep and the Dell takes over the screen of the computer, without the possibility to extend.

The w530 is able to extend to two monitors? If Yes, do I need to get different cables or something?

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. No dock. I tried to use the port for the dell mini-HDMI and VGA port for the HP monitor. Try to use a 3-monitor configuration.

How to check the graphics features on windows 8.1?

  • Questions about the W530

    Hey everybody,

I am a student who is looking to buy a new laptop in the next few weeks and made the W530 my first choice. At the moment I intend to use it for daily tasks and entertainment, but eventually I'll use it for coding with matlab as Microsoft visual studio and possibly some print 3D programs. I am planning get options Basic that it comes with, but I'm unable to pronounce on the screen. I had planned on 1600 x 900 screen, but I would like to know how it differs from the screen FHD 1920 x 1080. The difference is noticeable or I'd be fine with just the 1600 X 900 screen? If I get the screen FHD is possible to install a player blu - ray subsequently, or which is out of the question, given that Lenovo does not offer that as an option. And last question, what is the reliability of the recent W530 I've seen a lot of posts on the problems in the W530 that seem only those beginning 2012 effect?

Any help on these questions would be extremely appreciated

    1. the screen 1600 x 900 HD + on W530 is of good quality. The display of 1920 x 1080 FHD W530 is of excellent quality. The choice is really a matter of personal preference and needs, even if it is obvious that the FHD provides a larger work surface.

    2. installation of a drive Blu - ray (to replace the stock, DVD player) is separated from the FHD screen option and can be done by yourself. Check this box:
    http://www.primitivebuteffective.com/2011/05/Lenovo-W520-for-Sony-Vegas-Pro-10-and_23.html

    3. in general, the W530 is a large workstation (relatively portable).

    Welcome to the forum!

    Beware of LCDS 'compatible '...

If I were to look for the sign you are interested in, I would like to make certain that it is a piece issued by Lenovo with a FRU # 42 T 0623.

Anything and everything else may or may not be the real deal.

    Good luck.

  • Advice needed centenarians and hi-res W520 or new and low resolution W530?

    Hello people!

I'd appreciate your advice and your experience to help me with my contemplation.

Im a CAD (solidworks, autocad, revit) and graphics (adobe, sony vegas) user, I need a new machine because my x200t do not support the load more...

I have a limited budget, and I have two options with the same price (of Lenovo in any case):

    A demo version of W520:

    Machine type/model: 42844 MG

    Intel Core i7-2860QM - 2.5 GHz

    2 x 4 GB 500 GB 7200 RPM

    15.6 inches (1920 x 1080 nVidia 2000M 2 GB)

    DVD - Rec

    WiF, cornflower, WWAN

RPF 9elements color sensor Cam card reader

    Windows 7 Pro 64

    New W530:

    Intel Core i7-3720QM - 4 c - 2.6 GHz

    8GB 500 GB 7200 RPM + 32 GB mSATA

    15.6 inch (1600 x 900 nVidia Quadro 1100 M)

DVD - Rec WiFi color sensor of fingerprint 4-in-1 card reader

    Backlit keyboard 9 cell cam

    Windows 7 Pro 64

I would buy something and forget the upgrade for the next 3 years...

    I'd appreciate advice.

    Kind regards

    Gili

    • Do not spend money for the color sensor. Buy a sensor of external color that you can use the laptop monitor and your internal display.
    • Why do you have 32 GB on the W530 mSATA? Go with an SSD as a single disc, or go with an SSD in the main Bay and the HARD drive in an adapter ultra bay. I don't think that the 32 GB mSATA is logical from the financial point of view as a disk cache only.
    • Do you need the cam on the on the W530, which should save money as well.

    2000M (W520) vs... K1000M (W530)

Both have 192 cores, 2 GB of Ram, bandwidth, same memory, same version of OpenGL, shader model directX version PCI-E generation FP32 and Optimus.

Differences: K1000M gives you DisplayPort 1.2 and the 2000M is only DisplayPort 1.1. TDP is less than 10W on the K1000M.

See this pdf to more details.

For graphics cards will perform more or less the same (W530 could be able to turbo graphics or more processor because of less PDT). You will benefit from the additional performance of the 3720? If so, then I'd go with the W530.

I normally recommend Win 7 Home Premium and not Pro, since they both will come with a $14.99 to Win 8 Pro upgrade. I guess you want to stay on Win 7, at least until the 8 is on SP1, if not for the life of the machine. So Win7 Pro might be good for you, if you need functionality.

You what you need to consider is: the processor in the W530 will benefit you more than the screen on the W520 and you prefer one keyboard on the other.

  • X 220 models with IPS display

    I have a laptop of LU7-4290.

Is there an official journal of the portable x 220 specific models that have a display IPS (or 'Premium')?

IM surfing site sold almost worldwide and all I've found is this description:

    and this page: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product-and-parts/detail.page?DocID=PD012914.

I don't understand how can I know if my laptop that IPS displays.

Please, tell me a link where I can find it.

    Thank you.

Hi BuGfix, welcome to the forum,

You can enter your series and model number, (4290), parts search site; This will tell you the number FRU display which has been mounted at the factory.  You could then compare the FRU number with those appearing on the lists of parts, or, after the RUF here number and I am sure that members will be able to tell you which screen.

  • Reminders do not display or stick to the lock screen in iOS10

IOS10 (10.0.1 and 10.0.2), on an iPhone (I use an iPhone 6), reminders are no longer reliable. I had several cases where the callback doesn't show even on the screen lock and many more times when the recall won't 'glue' to screen lock for more than a short period. Before iOS10, when you said to remind you at a certain time or place, the recall would display on the reliable lock screen until she has been marked as "completed".

It is a major issue for people who depend on the application for the important tasks and calendar. There is a thread of any discussion on this point, for some reason, has been marked as "solved" even if a large number of people continues to post telling him that there is a problem for them too (as the thread located here). I wanted to start this new discussion which we hope will remain open until it is effectively resolved.

Thank you!!! This is a HUGE problem!

Since the update I had to reboot my phone EVERY day.

Is the stick of reminders... or they do not. Lately they don't yet show upward. Then other things stick to the lock screen can't get rid of.

Currently this feature on the phone is USELESS
