W530 vs Dell M4700

The Dell Precision M4700 came out. There so eSATAp and USB 3.0. The prices are comparable.

What is the thinking of Lenovo? Reduce the set of features for customer loyalty?

Dell Precision M4700

On top of that, 3 years, on the spot, guaranteed next-business day is standard.

No dock and I never actually tried to drive more than one external monitor, since I own more than one. I think I can drive three + screen laptop w/o dock.

Correct on the berries.

I had a W510 which was fine until I fried the mobo try to Flash the BIOS. Then Lenovo replaced mobo four times and finally agreed to send me a replacement W520. First W520 had some electric problem where he'd jump then off, second has not been configured right, third has not been configured right, fourth W520, they sent me was one of the first W520s they never did, very strange. I finally gave up and bought a M4600 and retired the last W520 they sent me for parts. Stupid Lenovo.

So, I want to upgrade my EliteBook 8570w.  It was a school issued laptop that I have the opportunity to keep or "modernization" of the year next to the Zbook.  The Zbook we saw, and frankly it's a slope down what I have now.  That being said I'll opt to keep my laptop current, which means that it is in me to do what I want with.

Because my laptop is a basic model, he has 4 GB of RAM, i5 3320 M Dual Core and AMD M4000 GPU.

The dual core i7 you will save some money and will always be a strong enough upgrade.

I assume that you already have a SSD but if not to invest your savings in that or the upgrade to 8 GB of RAM at least.

  • U2515H, custom 2560 x 1440 resolution HDMI is blurred

I use two computers with my U2515H purchased from Dell, a month ago.  My laptop Dell M4700 (NVIDIA Quadro K200M) with a Display Port output displays a clear text to the native resolution of 2560 x 1440, but my office with a new (bought for this monitor) card video Asus GEFORCE ASUS GT610-2GD3-CSM displays blurry text in the resolution of 2560 x 1440 customized to its HDMI port (card has VGA, DVI and HDMI ports).  M4700 Dell also displays blurry text with its HDMI port to the resolution of 2560 x 1440 custom.

I traded a few very useful emails with a NVIDIA support, and we both came to the conclusion only Dell can provide a solution.  Here's what we tried:

    • The most recent NVIDIA (347.88) video driver update.
    • I have not found a HDMI 2.0 cable in the city, but replaced my existing cable with a certified cable 4Kx2K.  Two Web sites indicate HDMI is an improvement of the material and does not new new cables or connectors. This seems to be a solution to the impasse, and an excuse for cable manufactures to keep the premium high-priced HDMI cables. See: http://www.hdmi.org/manufacturer/hdmi_2_0/, http://www.cnet.com/news/hdmi-2-0-what-you-need-to-know/
    • Downloaded the utility monitor Asset Manager of the web page to:
http://www.entechtaiwan.com/util/moninfo.shtm.  Tested HDMI port and as everyone on the internet, the U2515H indeed says is the highest HDMI resolution like 2048 x 1152.  I wasn't able to test the RFP, given that my Dell laptop has security restrictions used by my office.

In addition to working with NIVIDIA, while creating a custom HDMI of 2560 x 1440, I found the stable car timeline, but has blurred text.  All other options timing (GTF, DMT, CVT and CVT-reduced) provide a much sharper text, but become unstable when I disconnect and then try to log on. To me, this suggests that a non-standard custom calendar can clean the blurry text.  Here's where Dell might be useful.  Here are the options of resolution custom manual HDMI resolution 2560 x 1440:

    • Refresh rate (Hz): set at 60, but is adjustable in steps of 1 Hz
    • Depth (bpp) color: set at 32, 16 and 8 other options are
    • Scan type: set to Progressive, another option is interlaced
    • Active Pixels: adjustable in increments of 1 pixel for H and V
    • Perron (pixels): adjustable in increments of 1 pixel for H and V
    • Synchronize the width (pixels): adjustable in increments of 1 pixel for H and V
    • Total number of pixels: adjustable in increments of 1 pixel for H and V
    • Polarity: Positive or negative for H and V
    • Refresh rate: horizontal seems fixed to 72.00 KHz, Vertical appears adjustable in 1,000 Hz. - with an apparent range of 59,000 to 61,000.
    • Pixel Clock: looks fixed to 162,0000 MHz

I don't know where start by experimenting with different options, so your advice is welcome. I can experiment with my Dell M4700, but I prefer to experiment with my desktop built house (my main computer to this monitor).  The video card has been described above.  I am running Win 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64-bit.  I have reset the monitor and tested as suggested in the "read this first before posting."

    Thanks for your help.

Well, not quite perfect answer, but almost.

Update: after a few exchanges of useful e-mail with Nvidia and assistance from Dell, I was able to get a clear with HDMI as I always have with Display Port of entry.  I used Control Panel for Nvidia to set a custom resolution.  NVIDIA suggested I start with a refresh rate of 30 Hz and work my way up.  I could get my card ASUS GT610-2GD3-CSM 'entry level' chart to produce output HDMI 2560 x 1440 stable at 45 Hz refresh rate using GTF timing.  However, by following the instructions at www.notebookcheck.net/2560x1440-or-2560x1600-via-HDMI.92840.0.html , I was able to get an HDMI output stable at 55 Hz with CVT-reduced the black moment (I used the suggestion of"graphics Nvidia GeForce without Optimus').  It's probably best that I hope with my entry card, although I might try a shorter cable (instead of 6 ' 3 ') to see if I can get the extra 5 Hz.  The video card must be HDMI 1.4 compatible (that Asus says that it is after I asked), and I also bought an inexpensive HDMI 1.4 cable from Amazon (AmazonBasics high-speed HDMI Cable), although I'm not sure that cable really helped.

  • Windows 7 - access to the file permission problems

I have a new laptop of Dell M4700 with Windows 7 64-bit, and file access permissions are create chaos.

When I open a file for editing, the computer only wants to save - under a different file name, not simply to save the existing file.  This occurs in Notepad and several other programs.  It's the same thing that hit the button "save under" instead of simply register.

Several times at the opening of files, in particular on external drives, the file will only open read-only.  I can copy the file to the local hard drive, and it works normally.

So far, I tried the following:

    • I have administrator rights.
    • I went through and all the property of the files changed for me.
    • Make the read-only attributes of course removed
    • Run programs as an administrator
Any help to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like you don't have permission in writing to these files.

To resolve or explain it, you look at the permissions on the file/folder and they are explicitly defined or inherited from the parent folder (or higher).  When it comes to permissions, administrators are users like everyone else.  Directors may be refused or permissons to files or folders like any other user.  Even the file owner can change permissions such as he is denied access to its own folder.  The only advantage that owners and managers have is permission to change permissions.

You need view the permissions currently in effect for that file.  Usually, this is done:

Right click on the file / folder-> properties-> tab 'security '.

At the top will be list users and groups with permissions and if you click on it, the bottom window displays their permissions.   Learn more about this everything is there:

"Together, see, change, or remove permissions on an object.

This will lead to other links which provides information on how to set permissions.

  • Impossible to export or print to pdf

I recently got a new laptop from Dell M4700. After I installed my suite design CS5 including Acrobat 9 Pro, I lost my ability to print or export to PDF. It will take me through all the motions, as if it will work, and I can see a PDF pop up where he was saved, but she disappears after just 1 second or more. This is not the case in the Adobe software, but also of Microsoft software. I tried to run the repair install, but it still doesn't work. I don't know what to do.

You can open Acrobat? What operating system are you using and it is 64-bit? Have you updated AA9, now to 9.5.4? My guess is that the updates will do the job.

  • Several external screens with Dell Precision M4700

I just got a M4700 of precision with 8 64-bit Windows and graphics of AMD over-pants M4000. According to the Dell site and other articles I read, in addition to the built-in screen of the laptop, I should be able to connect to two other screens without the docking station or five other screens with a docking station. However, until now I couldn't get an external display to work even if I use the docking station. If I use certain ports, I can get two external displays to work, but only if I disable the built-in screen.

Without the base, the laptop has a HDMI, a VGA, and a DisplayPort. I tried to connect my two external monitors to these ports in all possible combinations. Whenever I connect the external second monitor it is detected in the 'Screen Resolution' windows dialog but default to disabled. If I try to turn on the display, then click 'Apply' then I get this message:

"The display settings could not be saved. Please try another combination of display settings. »

After that first of all, I got this problem with the default drivers preinstalled by Dell, I tried updating to the latest driver available on the AMD website and I always get the same question.

    Any ideas are much appreciated.

I solved the problem. AMD Eyefinity cards require that you are using DisplayPort but it supports up to two "legacy" displays (DVI, VGA, etc.). The built-in computer screen is considered a single existing screen, it allows only to another non - DP monitor. I was using DisplayPort but I connect to a DVI monitor using a PASSIVE adapter. If the adapter is passive then the video card output still a DVI signal and causing count her among the existing views. I had two ACTIVE DP to DVI converters and now I have three monitors + built-in screen and it works fine.

  • Dell Precision M4700 (Windows 7 pro) starts not once configured with UEFI and Secure Boot

To all those who can help you:

I got a Dell Precision M4700 and I update bios A05. I was intending to move to Windows 8. Everything was fine and the bios update was successful. I started the new bios under Windows 7 Professional (base OS) factory-installed and was very good.

However, I can't get into the bios (not even see the POST from Dell or Logo) after I activate the UEFI and Secure Boot. This before I update to Windows 8 Pro. Now I'm stuck with a blank screen (same LCD not lit) and nothing to start. It's like a dead PC.

Help, please. Is that what I can do or should I contact Dell Support for repair?

    Thank you

I fixed it!  Just removed the CMOS battery, the BIOS got reset back to factory default.  So I did:

    (1) remove the battery

    (2) press the power button to the case of ground

    (3) remove the lower panel

    (4) disconnect the CMOS battery (it's tedious)

    (5) I hit the power button for some time (30 s) to clear the capacitors or something else, it was my theory, but I doubt it's necessary

    (6) use it to all back to the start

When I turned it on it turns on and turns off several times before finally stay standing and I was then able to enter the BIOS and all the settings have been restored to factory default.  I am new to Windows 7 on my machine so I'll repeat the process, this time without disabling the legacy option roms!

  • Win 7 or 8 with a new W530?

    Hidy ho.

I realize that no one can make that decision for me, but I would greatly appreciate feedback from users than me.

I've been running Win XP on an old Dell these past seven years, and it's time for a new laptop. Am on the Lenovo site now, customize a W530 before buying.

Win 7 or Win 8? That is the question. Lenovo offers Win 7 free of charge, and I have read and heard that the OS is stable and mature.

Or should I take the plunge of Nestea and go with Win 8? Outside the intuitive learning curve, are there other reasons for delaying the inevitable?

I should add that I'm not big on upgrading the operating system during the life of the machine. Everything that comes with this laptop, it's what I'll probably use for the next six or seven years.

Thank you very much for your thoughts!

    Brooks

Windows 7 will be an easier transition, so I recommend that. At the time where you should update the W530, Microsoft will have its model OS subscription full swing and at least most of the questions that people currently have with Windows 8 will have been worked.

  • trying to support a 3-screen desktop via hdmi and vga on the w530

Hello. Can I extend my W530 Win8.1 display to a monitor Dell via HDMI or a HP via VGA monitor, but not both simultaneously. If I plug both monitors at the same time, then the HP goes to sleep and the Dell takes over the screen of the computer, without the possibility to extend.

The w530 is able to extend to two monitors? If Yes, do I need to get different cables or something?

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. No dock. I tried to use the port for the dell mini-HDMI and VGA port for the HP monitor. Try to use a 3-monitor configuration.

  • Dual boot Win7 disk external eSata M4700 accurately

Because virtualization does not support some devices of HW, I need, I want to dual boot win7 Pro/64 at a (removable) disk external connected to my accuracy M4700 eSATA port.

eSata means better performance, but the start menu will be happy with a removable disk, i.e. wrong be connected permanently (obviously I does not start the operating system on the disk hard if it is not connected)?

And legal, is it possible to use the OEM license of operating system provided with the system for that?

As a question, are the BONES in a Win7 start menu linked to a physical drive on a specific Sata port? IOW, what happens if I move a HARD disk with a bootable partition / volume of the internal Bay (port 0) to an eSATA external enclosure connected to eSATA (port 5) port? The eSATA port is transparent to the Win7 boot loader? Volumes and drive letters remain unchanged and appear perfectly to the operating system on it?

    Hi Benoitm,

Assuming the M4700 can boot from an external eSATA port, this should be possible. And it should be possible to install on a HARD drive, then put this drive in an external enclosure and start it. Your preferences and your drive letters must be maintained. You can check that your system can boot from a first external HARD disk.

The Dell license covers only the version of the operating system that is provided with the system. In theory, the dualboot requires two licenses.

  • Precision M4700 and IDT Audio Driver (Windows 8 x 64)

    Hello

I have a problem with my new Dell Precision M4700 with Windows 8 x 64.

I can not install audio driver IDT high definition. During the installation, I get the error message 'the hardware found is not supported by this package IDT', or if I try to use the manual installation, I get the message "unable to install the driver. A device is not active ".»

I think that the audio device is disabled, but don't know where to check.

    Thanks for any help.

    OK, I found the problem.

    Now Audio work perfectly.

The problem was related to the pilot HDAudBus (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SYSTEM-CurrentControlSet-Services------HDAudBus) which was fixed with the start (REG_DWORD) 0 x 4 (disabled). Set to 0 x 3 and rebooting, everything has been implemented.

    Thank you all.

  • I will never buy another Dell as long as I live

I hate Dell with every fiber of my being. I got 2 computers, a M4700 and a M4800 and none of them worked and I run an online business and have not been able to work while they keep breaking. Brand new, works does not in the delivery. I'm trying to get a refund now on the 2rd broken one in 5 months, and I went through the usual India bounce around and have been waiting for 45 minutes again. Last week, I was logged out 15 times. I told my story at least 20 different representatives who never write it down and then disconnect me. I don't understand how they have clients, running a business like that. I'm a Web Designer and computer consultant so that people ask me what to buy all the time. I'm going to write my story and leave it on the net. I've never jerked around this property. If I asked them to loss of activity and all the hours I spent waiting and trying to get this problem fixed, it would be 20 k more. No lie. This is my hourly rate more business lost because I have not had my computer for 5-6 weeks on / off power in 5 months. I've been waiting for more than 60 minutes after being transferred from the India. I listen to this music on hold lively again. Since I bought the computer of origin in December, it never worked right. He was dead out of the box. They send a tech guy who has replaced most of the parts and it never worked right, then they send me the M4800 3 weeks and he broke completely two weeks after I got it. I want a refund. I don't want a 3rd computer. Also, I have no computer. I can't work. Of course Dell tells me that they can't pay back me, because the original order went from 30 days. Which is ridiculous. How can they do that when I have a computer that has worked since the first day. I gave them a chance to solve this problem, and it is not fixed. I'm not waiting 90 minutes and they refuse to refund my money. I have to wait another 3 to 4 weeks to get a new computer. I can't believe they do. Now, I entered my code of service 7 times and it is not recognize all the numbers that you enter. It's like a loop with them. I can't get help. It is a nightmare.

I'm blogging on my site, but the story is not yet done yet! I still have it in draft form.
I never thought that he would go so long... in 8 months. Here's my nightmare to date.

This is a true story as incredible as it sounds when you read it. What I find the most amazing, is how Dell is still in business running it like that. After about four months of Dell, I realized that I need the entire document. And the story is not yet finished and it's been 8 months and 4 computers later.

9/2013- My Acer is overheated and cannot manage the level of video processing that I need for my business.
I start shopping for a computer that will last me for years and be durable and reliable. Read criticism of M4700 for PC Magazine and think it's a good deal and good computer for my needs.

Buy 9/13 this deal includes Pro support which is very important for me because of my bad history with Dell and terrible customer. I'm charged and the clock of the guarantee starts even if it's another two months before I was able to use the computer. Takes a full 6 weeks to get it. They ran out of somewhere.

Oct 2013- Is not a DVD/R in writing, somehow, I missed it on the prescription. Send it back. Takes still 4 weeks

    Nov 2013
happens - I knowledge now, I did not Support Pro, and they will not give to me because it my mistake when I don't have for the accessible reader into writing. Too busy to put in place, leave it for a few weeks.

DEC/2013, start moving files and put in place, but working on two computers for a month. Finally get all the programs installed, start using the start and I get a blue screen of death and multiple shut downs when you are doing something to do with videos, and then it becomes closed and blue just randomly screens downs for no apparent reason.

January 2014 - blue screen boot all the time, before it was once or twice a week.
Download Dell Remote help - middle of 3 hours of the night and can't fix. Reference Dell group still 2 hours and they can't fix it. Computer will not make any video work. The main reason I bought it. I'm starting to find a lot of other people on the Dell forum having the same problems. A lot of broken computers and blue screens that appear constantly.

May 2014- Dell finally give up and decide to send me a new computer. Will be 2-3 weeks to get to me.
A better that they say. I ask them to switch me to Support Pro because I had so many problems, they say no.

End June, 2014 New M4800 arrives - spend hours to move files, reactivate all of my graphics and design programs web, office suite and many many programs I use for my business. Two weeks later, I'm downloading some work online and the computer becomes black. Does not start, all the lights at the top of the fair Board flashing.

July 2014 Call Dell, hours later, looks like the motherboard is bad. I have no computer and now I have no access to my emails and my files of the company and everything else I need. Tech comes out two days later, change the motherboard, video card and more. Computer still does not. He has no idea what the problem is. Ordered another motherboard, just came back two days later, works again on this matter and considers "non repairable computer." I call Dell and they CS Rep tells me is not repairable does not mean it can't be solved. I talk to him, how can you say that? I need another computer replacement and before another 4 weeks. Now, I have no access to my work for the last 8 months and e-mails and they suggest I have borrow your desktop to someone if I can use the hard drive!

I have an external one put in place, but it is useless to this situation on a laptop. The guy told me that I have to take the computer share following its directions on the phone until they send me a replacement.
What the? Dell is going to force me to disassemble the computer to the phone until they send me a replacement? I already remove other two computers, and I'm getting sick of the present. All I wanted was a computer that worked. I have spent so many hours on it, and now they are forcing me to disassemble a computer? What kind of service is that?

I hang up and cry. So I'm on my work. I need to get the job done and I can't. I call Anthony, my guy tech who tried to repair the computer and he is shocked by what they want to me and told him and his boss will try to help me get a faster replacement computer. He will try to reopen the case and talk to someone at Dell. They are independent contractors, and I can see fighting for not to say anything negative. He feels really bad for me, but he has no power or on what they are doing.

I'm taking a break to talk to Dell, since I did not have another clock free hours for you can call, be disconnected and fight with them again. Whenever I call, I have to me shore mentally to deal with all the UPS crash and useful people and tell my story over and over again since the departments that I take care of not not talk to each other, and NONE of my problems are documented for the another dept to read. It's a nightmare. I realize there is good chance that I won't have a computer for weeks, then I begin to dig all the old computers that I and my Acer I bought the Dell to replace.

It's Friday and the Ministry of replacement is closed and no one can help me before Monday. I called my credit card and try to get a refund and the refund Dept. is closed for Citibank until Monday too.

My Acer must be at the top of the unit. I put a sweater and work standing on the air conditioner. I spend the weekend to transfer all files from 8 months ago at my dad's computer.
The transfer of 'easy' of windows is 9 and a half hours. I spent the next 3 hours reactivate and install programs that don't yield on and digging at the old licenses and codes, all of which are on a list on the broken computer.

July 29, 2014 Monday morning: first of all I call Citicard, a refund would solve all my problems. I desperately want to forget Dell forever and just buy another brand. Card bank Citibank refuses a refund. They say that Dell has a 3 year warranty, they cannot help me. I cried as I hang up. This is the first time I did not use my American Express card for a major purchase and I'm seriously regretting this choice right now. I called Citibank before I used the card to buy this computer and they told me that they had the same policy for refund/replacement such as American Express. Amex would be of me reimbursed. You can count on them regarding such things. I will never buy something big with my Citibank credit card again.

I decided to try again with a different CS Rep., I hope they won't have me disassemble the computer it's release-able before they order me my 3rd computer but I have my tools out and I ready to to do that if that's the only way I can get my replacement computer.

Dell phone service is the worst and after that I finally find the right dept I ask for a refund and they say no way, but when they put me on hold, I learned to be queued means that you will be disconnected with Dell. I think that 'hold' is the code for hang up on this person. I added to the top how time may that I was hooked to the top/disconnected upward by them and it now more than 30 times. The total number of real. Can you imagine if I was a boss or an employee for Dell? This is not the case for me.

I connect everything and everyone that I get, I ask their name, and ask them to call me if we get disconnected. In two hours I'm trying to get help this morning I eventually call Dell more than 8 times. One of them told me before it disconnects / places awaiting me, "our software is.". Two of the 8 people who pulled swear me they help me and promise to call me if we're disconnected but never call back me. Another said to me earlier in the day, "we had problems with some of the parts of these machines. I have names for everyone, but they are not real half the time and you can never talk to them or even to find them. Two hours later, 8 disconnects and 5 times my story and enter all my information on the phone and listen to their music on hold, I now hate with a passion.  I get a CS Rep named Eric who says he will take my case and take responsibility for it.  He will order me a replacement. Erik assures me that he will be in charge of my case and I don't have to continue to talk to different people. I get the confirmation email saying he'll come within 10 working days.

Usually 2-3 weeks of not having a working machine. Another day of shooting. I can't do any work for my clients and work piling up. Children begging me to buy a computer from anyone but Dell and just sell the following that they send me on Ebay. I feel that how can I do this to someone else? I don't know how the guarantee would transfer more and honestly, I feel like it would be dishonest to stick to a person with this problem.

7/30 Computer replacement number 3. I try to remove the hard disk from broken replacement machine number 2, but one of the 5 screws to remove to get out the hard disk is stripped. A screw away from my life back. I call Dell.
Customer Service-says his name is "Alex", I ask to be sent to a tech person to remove the screw. Waiting and the phone for an hour. Refused. I told me they don't do that. I need to go somewhere and pay me or mail back into the computer and they will then send me the back of the hard drive.
Within 10 working days. I've now had my computer for more than 5 weeks. I pray you, they refuse. I take the hardware to the computer store and they use their tools extractor and may not leave the screw. They are trying. I love my local hardware store. Thank you True Value Hardware in Castro Valley, you guys are the best. They are like your time old corner store. They are actually in the middle of a neighborhood. They seem to have a bit of everything and generous in offering to help you when you have these weird problems. I'm going home and email Eric, my rep cs who promised that he would take responsibility for my case, and I ask him to help me please. Here's what he sent back 24 hours later.
"I'm sorry, Madam, but I must inform you that I no longer work in the Department of the workstation. I have moved to another Department and no longer have my old cases, including yours. Your case will be given to a new owner if. I trust that they will be able to solve your problem. ».
I just laugh at it. I'm at the point now where the only thing that will make me feel better is to publish my story and leave my honest comments everywhere on the internet. Dell will spend millions to get new customers and then they treat them like that. What is the problem with this company? I will become the person walking anti-dell in my personal life.
A dark reminder of what can happen with Dell if you have any kind of problems. I have send an email 'Mary', who told me her name was Alex yesterday, but my follow-up e-mail is Mary. Now I ask a confirmation email whenever I talk to someone, but I only get these about 1 5 times. I learned to try to force them to send me an e-mail while I'm still on the phone. I beg you to help me. No response... never.
I now know to call, nobody will help twice. Just wait for that if you buy a Dell computer. You never have a person who will help you in fact. They are all fired the ball and you can't get real names, extensions or anything like that.

7/31 call CS Rep name is Karla. 1 hour. I make sure Karla is going to call me at the time where I'm getting hung up. She is wise and never put me on hold for the whole time we're talking about. She puts just the phone down instead. Seriously, I think that it is the ONLY way that Dell will not cut you. I feel hope, it may be actually trying to help me. I request this be dealt with in order to return the computer and recover the hard disk. I'm ready to box it upward, and then return to the UPS Store for the 4th time to regain a Dell computer. I ask him if they can speed up it somehow since I am now 5 weeks without a working computer.
At this point, I do not expect anything. I kept telling them how I run an online business and can't do my job and have the year last of my life on this hard drive. Why bother? They don't care. No one took in charge the world this month as any other 8 that my CS Rep John 1, whose email I can't access even more and they wouldn't give it to me once again when I asked. Karla talking to several departments different and after a lot of time to hold (but not actually put on hold, thank God), she tells me that they will send a technician home to remove the screw. Seriously? Can you even believe this? I begged Mary/Alex yesterday and she was cold and unyielding, there is no way that would happen. I expressed my disbelief to Karla, who said only: I am pleased that help you, it will be 3-4 days for the service call? Much better than the 10 days that looks more like 3 weeks.

Independent contractor for Dell Anthony released two days later and can't get out the screw.
Now he almost 05:00 for Dell and I will not be able to get any aid again until Monday, this guy Brian tells me that I'm out of warranty before it bothers even to read my file. I tell him I'm on my replacement computer 3rd of them so I'm certainly not out of warranty. And to find my service ticket, he put me on hold and... Click, disconnected. Every time. Like clockwork.

I call back review this brand-new and the rep, Josephine said I have to put you on hold... I Scream no, until it can do (and disconnect me again), and I beg him to put just the phone down.  She does and I have heard all the people on the phone, wow, who are strong and then after 5 minutes it goes silent... oh no, please please do not disconnect me once again... I have to just sit here and wait for the operator turns on and says: ' If you want to make a call, please hang up and try again. Wow, I truly memorized by high hanging on so many times by Dell and hear the interrupt message. Josephine, he said now the warranty is not displayed. Honestly at this point, I think I should write off the 2000.00 for this machine and forget it. I easily lost 10 times x billable hours and work during this period of not being able to do my job and on the phone trying to correct problems with Dell. Josephine treated the return of order, and I ask him how can I be sure that I will come back this hard drive? I don't trust them at all. I do not hang up until I get the email of its confirming everything. Also sincere to someone of you other sufferers as it there, don't let them put you on hold! Tell them to put just the phone down. It's the only way you will not be disconnected.

Since I bought the first Dell Sept 2013, I do not have the use of my computer for 4 months. Up to half of the time since I placed the original order. As of today, I am looking at another 2 weeks until they send me back my hard drive. I do not have a usable computer to return to my work online.
I was forced to recreate jobs and combine work better as I can for my clients. My email is an obsolete year now and I have no access to the programs and files on the hard drive that has a stripped screw.

    TO BE CONFIRMED...

  • Take off a laptop M4700 Win 7 of trend and put Microsoft Security Essentials on the results in a freeze during startup

I have a laptop Dell Precision M4700 which came with Win 7 x 64 final. He also provided Trend AV software. When I try to remove the trend, it seems to have problems, but after a reboot, it seems to be off the system. Then, I try to install MSE which seems fine and can even update and run a scan. However, the first time that I reboot after installation, the system hangs on "Starting Windows" screen I reinstalled but unfortunately the recorded windows also includes the trend s/w and it shows the same problem.

I still have an old Latitude D830 that I have upgraded to Win 7 x 64 Ultimate. It works fine MSE. He had no preloaded trend and drivers are a little different due to different materials,

    Any ideas?

    Hi hajk,.

It could be a possibility that the Trend antivirus software has not been uninstalled completely. We can use the uninstall tools provided by the manufacturer of Trend antivirus software to uninstall the software and then install Microsoft Security Essentials. Use the following link to download the uninstall utility based on the version of the antivirus installed on the computer Trend software:

Trend Micro Worry - Free Business Security Services: http://bit.ly/112g0A7

Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security: http://bit.ly/172zNU5

After you download the uninstall utility, run the file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstall. Restart the computer and use the following link to download Microsoft Security Essentials: http://bit.ly/14pG1fw

    Please post the results.

  • Video M4700 upgrade option?

I bought a Dell Precision M4700 for very cheap of the plug and I'm unfortunately not entirely satisfied with the AMD video card that comes with it (an over-pants M4000).

My research indicated that these laptops use MXM 3.0 maps one to the dedicated graphics card. Is it possible for me to buy a Quadro K2000M or some other nVidia MXM A map to make it more compatible with the operating systems, I mainly use? (Linux and BSD).

    Thank you!

It seems that the model has been delivered with this option, so it shouldn't cause problems.
