  • OfficeJet Pro 6830: Installed new ink cartridges on 6830, but they were not full

I've been using this printer for about two years now, been through "Print head problem" for both, they exchanged once and replace only the part once.

My ink colour C, M and there were emptied at the same time, so I ordered all three in an online store. I installed a few minutes ago and check the ink level via the touch screen of the printer. It turns out that they are not quite complete. They are almost full, C and are close to full, but M is less complete.

I wonder why this happens? I never checked the ink level in the past, but it surprises me. The printer makes some kind of calibration and printhead cleaning to get ready installed ink? (So consumed little ink)

I scanned the QR code on the side of boxes of ink and checked the hologram stickers and pretty sure that they are genuine. The printer also said that they are authentic.

Here is the picture of my ink level. Shot after installation of the cartridge and nothing printed.

Another strange thing is the date of installation. Now it is April 4 in my country but the web printer configuration page shows cartridge installation date is April 1! I checked the date and the printer and everything is OK.

If the cartridges have been used before, the printer screen would show a message that cartridges have been used on another front printer. I saw only me because I kept the old ink before trading in the past as I said up there.

    Please see a screenshot below

Everyone knows what happened? Or it's normal? (The packaging and seal in plastic cartridges seemed fine, nothing suspected weird)

    Thank you.

    Welcome to the HP Forums

    @BlackMiracle,

I came across your post about the concerns that you have with the help of your new ink cartridges and I wanted to share my own suggestions. The date being out for a few days is a bit strange, but the rest seems normal. Yes, when you install the cartridges, they are calibrated and alignment and clean, that uses a bit of ink. The levels that you see are also "estimated" levels If there are print quality problems or error messages, let me know and I'll do my best to help.

    I hope this helps!

  • 6525 adapter black ink cartridge

I have a printer HP 6525.  I bought a pack of new ink cartridges and fits very well except black.  The black cartridge for installation is about twice the width of one supplied with the pack.  Y at - it an adapter for the smaller cartridges?  If yes where can I get one?  ramroc

    Hey @ramroc ,

Thank you for taking the time to post on the HP Forums today! Hope you enjoy the experience.

You use the HP Photosmart 6525 and you are having problems with the new ink bought because you have a black man who is smaller, then the slot in the transport.

What happened here most likely bought the HP 564 cartridges with the 5th black cartridge is a black picture for the Photosmart HP 7520. The black cartridge you want to use is the one with a Pentagon on the top, not a bow tie.

    Should resemble what your transport;

    Looks like that the transport of HP Photosmart 7520;

You want to make sure that you use the cartridge with the Pentagon not the bow tie.

Hope this makes things easier for you. Have a good!

  • HP Deskjet F4400 series: Hp Deskjet F4400 series on the ink cartridge issue

I have a black color cartridge in my printerand printing all black and now I'm almost our black ink.  How can I use colored ink that remains in my cartridge I want to throw.

Welcome to the HP community @Taybey,

I read on how you want to use your color ink cartridge, and I wanted to tender hand with my suggestions. Maybe you can check the print on your computer settings and make sure that the option "print in black ink only" is disabled, which will allow the color cartridge to use ink.

Follow these steps to change the default for all print jobs print settings.

  • HP Office Jet Pro 8720: Problem set up and launch the new printer & ink cartridge installation

    Two questions:
First... it takes a LONG time for the computer to open itself.
Then, when he did initiate... I opened the section of ink cartridge
to install the ink & transport of ink would not come to the Center.
SO... I stopped the printer to start again... and now, the
screen has a spinning wheel indicating "cartridges controls."
It lasts for more than half an hour.
HELP... This is a new printer & I can't open.
    Thank you kindly.

    Hi @paulallah,

Thanks for joining the Forums of HP Support for a solution to your printer problem.

I understand that you have a printer of HP all-in-one OfficeJet Pro 8720 which took a long time to initialize and is now stuck in a mode 'check' cartridges after the reboot it because transport would not move to the Center. I would like to help with that.

I would start by doing a Reset of the power on the printer.

If that fails to solve the problem, you might want to speak with HP Technical Support as there may be a hardware problem.

You mentioned that you are using a Mac running OS X 10.5 Leopard or more. The HP all-in-one OfficeJet Pro 8720 printer is only compatible with Mac OS X 10.7 Lion or later.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

Indeed, if this help you to achieve a solution please click the 'accept as Solution' and the 'thumbs up' buttons down below in this message.

    Thank you!

  • Photosmart HP 7510: Change what black ink cartridge is used.

Our 7510 HP ink slots for small and XL cartridges, however it will not use the small cartridge ink. How to change the parameters to pass to the thin cartridge XL, small is running out of ink and I can't find the black ink cartridge (Photo) in stores now. I bought two 'small', one was a XL, not labelled as such and we ordered cartridges from HP on the web and they were too big too. I need to be able to use the XL Black ink cartridge that is installed.

    Thank you..

    Hello

First, XL ink cartridges are physically the same size with normal cartridges (same number). The difference is more inks XL cartridges.

Your printer has 2 black ink cartridges, one narrower called Photo ink cartridge and one large/more bigger called black ink cartridge. When printing in grayscale, the printer will mix all the colors to give B & W. If you want to print black ink only, you must indicate to your printer. Please try

    (a) double-click the desktop printer icon.
    (b) click on set preferences.
    (c) click on advanced.
d select "Black ink" only for printing in grayscale
    (e) click Ok/apply.

Note: printer must still all color inks and it will consume a very small amount of ink over the warmng of trial.

    Kind regards.

  • printer says to replace the ink cartridge, even though it is new

    Hello!

Could really use some help with my printer. I recently bought new ink cartridges and I replaced the "old", but then my printer started to show on the compensation carriage jam error messages, even though it was clear and since then, he has constantly shown this error message on ink. He wants me to replace an empty ink cartridge to continue printing, it won't work otherwise.

Ink, that I placed in the printer is totally new and authentic, but there is no answer, he displays the same message to two ink cartridges, which makes me realize that it of not really discern who is new or empty.

If I remove them both, it tells me that there is an empty ink or damaged.

I tried the reset of the printer, stop it down and turn, but the same message is displayed immediately. The light next to the screen flashes all the time.

When I replaced the old cartridges I did not process the printer, I replaced them all first and then let him treat. Maybe it was wrong to do so?

    Any help is appreciated!

It seems to be a problem with either the hardware of the printer or the replacement cartridge. If it is the cartridge, it should be covered by warranty (if it's authentic HP) given that you bought at just. Now, I think that your best shot would be to contact HP Technical Support to see all the other possibilities for you.

The only other option would be to try an another new cartridge replacement for rule in or out the cartridge at fault.
