  After I managed to remove the two "unknown device" - entered the W10 Device Manager clean install thanks to this forum, I tried to upgrade to the BIOSVersion F.2D Rev a dated August 26, 2014 and listed under Windows 8 (sp68425.exe) which, according to the note, HP recommends highly.

  As I was not sure if this update would work under W10, I first tried the method described (HP Notebook PC - updated BIOS) with the opening of the menu equipment Diagnostics UEFI immediately by pressing the ESC key several times, once per second, until the Boot Menu is displayed and then pressing the F2 key.   To answer your original question, usually, I advise to use HP recovery media to restore your PC to its original state. That would erase the entire disk, format the drive and install the operating system, drivers and utilities HP.   The 3840QM will give you a bosse.4 ghz, which is as 15%...barely is worth it when the processor itself costs less than $ 250 used. The video is in the motherboard. There is no place to install a gpu, so the answer to the second part is not.

  Your best global update is a solid state drive, but that won't do anything for video feed. If you have a laptop that will do video rendering, it is impossible financially smart that banging a up to the task. You could theoretically get a motherboard model sister who has switchable discrete graphics but the cost would be also diagrams and would end up being a disappointment.

  I made the mistake of buying a Windows 8 machine which does not reliably connect to the internet. I see connections and you connect to them but just have 'limited' connectivity and can't get online.

  First of all, thank you for the Nice fellow who took the time to answer.

  After several hours with HP support, we have reloaded windows as a last resort.

  This fixed the problem of wireless-N with the ralink wireless card.

  I have created the restore point, applied updates (windows update) via the hp support assistant.

  Eventially has all the recommended updates and ended with several update option.

  Make a restore point

  Load the update of Microsoft as an option for ralink (975 k no id #), he again DEFEATED Wireless-n.

  Open windows control panel, open Device Manager, expand keyboards, right-click on the "Standard PS/2 Keyboard" entry and select uninstall.

  Shut down the laptop - if you're running Windows 8/8.1, do it by holding down the button SHIFT left click Shutdown to temporarily prevent a hybrid boot.

  Then disconnect the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

  Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f9 to load the default values (sometimes it is f5, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

  There is no newer driver for Windows 10 fingerprint sensor. It seems that the old driver is not compatible with the Windows 10 either. So, if the fingerprint work in previous windows, it's a matter of software with Windows 10.
