Want DV7-7230us: HP Envy DV7-7230us dual band wireless compatibility

Hi all -

I have a DV7-7230us that I've updated massively since the purchase at a great price about 3 years - new display, 500 GB SDD, Win10-Pro, memory maxed out, etc..

This laptop has all the abilities and raw power I need a laptop, but one thing that bothers me is the minimap original wireless in - it's single-channel video, 2.4 GHz a/b/g.

I would like to replace it with the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 2 x 2 Networok/Bluetooth adapter (7260.HMWWB. (R), but I just want to ensure compatibility before you start down this path here - anyone had success and/or advice I should on this? If not compatible, does anyone know card dual band wireless compatible AC that works?

Thank you!

Hello

Your machine was built long before mid-2014, so the chance to upgrade the wifi card is slim to zero. There is a list on page 7 of the following document:

http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c03591253.PDF

Option: AC USB wireless card is the way to go.

Kind regards.

  • Intel dual band wireless-ac 7260 Compatability

I just bought a new HP Pavilion and want to upgrade the wireless LAN card. It of a great PC and has an i7 Intel Core 4 Gen and so far works fine when connected to my LAN via Cat6. I'm having issues pulling large CAD files and in looking over the repair, the only option listed for a duel card band is an old N Intel 3160 (1 X 1), from 2013. I contacted Intel and was informed that the card should work, but that HP tends to Whitelist BIOS here to prevent customers of workstations being upgraded there. The question that I have is the the 7260 Intel does not appear in my service manual, BUT is currently available for download driver on the support listed as a driver Intel 7260/3160 site. Anyone know if this product is in the white list on the BIOS? I have listed the part I'll order below for reference.

    INTEL DUAL BAND WIRELESS AC 7260 - (NETWORK CARD 2 X 2

HALF OF MINI - PCI EXPRESS CARD

    802. 11B, 802. 11A, 802. 11 G, 802.11N,
    802.11AC, BLUETOOTH 4.0

    Model number 7260.HMWWB. R

    TigerDirect part number: IE2-102594433

    List price $29.99

As you can see the value of spending $29.99 and the return on investment of this offer that it is obvious, from the 'stocks' Realtek Wireless Card that comes standard on this computer.

Would also like to point out that this computer was only $479.99 at Best Buy and came with and i7 4Gen and was too good to pass up.  No idea why HP would be but as lower wifi card in the same workstation with an i7.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this post and I can't wait to read your response.

    Hello:

Several posts, I read on the forum that you should have no problem installing any wireless card you want in your laptop, as it appears that HP has done away the white list of wireless cards BIOS.

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

Info upgrade memory are in Chapter 1.

Now, I have bad news for you...

You will cancel the warranty if you install a wireless card or memory yourself.

Unfortunately, you have to pretty much disassemble the laptop everything to the hard drive, memory, and the wireless card.  You can refer to chapters 5 and 6 of the repair for the removal and replacement procedures.

  • Satellite P850 - 12 X - update Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260

    Hello

I'm writing this information for those who want to upgrade their wirelss adapter inside the Intel 7260AC card dual band.

This card functions perfectly on my Satellite P850-12 X, but you will need to cover the pin 20 with a piece of tape so that it works correctly. I installed this card in my laptop, installed the drivers etc, everything went well past shown in dev Manager without problems, but them was always a red x across wireless networks connections and nothing would show. After spending several days trying to figure out what the problem was, I came across this information I share now. I will not go, why you need to cover the pin20 which would take a whole new thread.

The intel 7260 dual band wireless card works with incredibly fast speeds and has a capacity of Widi and bluetooth and is well recommended but iff after the installation of the card that you have similar problems, as I had then you now have the soloution I saved days of reasearch. All donations most wecome :)

    Hi Sam

    Thanks for sharing your experience.
I just want to add that these updates is not supported by Toshiba and these updates probably will void warranty valid. This should know any owner of the laptop and do these updates on his own risk.
With other words each of us must know this and make own decision how to handle this situation.

In any case, I m happy to know that everything went well with your upgrade. :)

    Good luck.

  • Spectrum 360 x: Intel (R) Dual Band Wireless problem - unable to connect to WiFi

Hi, I have problems connecting my laptop to the Internet. The laptop even can't detect wireless networks (despite other devices being able to do), even if it wasn't a problem beforehand. I have troubleshooted and received the message "card Intel (r) Dual Band Wireless-N 7265 problem driver - or related to the material." so I tried to search through the forums. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a solution other than to go to the Device Manager. Under "Network adapters", the Intel (r) Dual Band Wireless AC7265 reports a problem (he has a!). It indicates the status of the device is "this device cannot start. (Code 10). {Operation failed.} The requested operation failed. "Before that, I remember it to be 45 Code, something about the material being not connected.

I've been to events where it says that the device has been installed but also that "Driver Management concluded the process to install the driver... (..) with the following status: 0x0. »

I think that this problem was caused yesterday when I closed my laptop - I think it was set up the device / through a kind of update when I forced stop it (the screen was black and I didn't know at the time it was the configuration) and that's when I had problems connecting to the Internet. When I went into Device Manager, it says just something on the device requiring an additional installation, but after reviewing all possible solutions on the forums, it has become a Code 10. I tried to update the driver software, but it says ' window has determined the software driver for your device is up to date ", restart the Internet modem, reboot the laptop, the laptop everything, ranging from recovery reset - all with no avail. Sorry for the very long and detailed post, but if someone could please help, I would appreciate (this is the only laptop I currently and about a week). Thank you!

    Hello:

    Please provide detailed information.

    Here's what I recommend.

Download the latest wlan driver Intel 7265 AC.  The 2nd driver on the left side of the page is what you want.

Transfer the driver on your PC with a usb flash drive.  Do not run the file again.

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/download/25603/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-software-for-Windows-10

Go to Device Manager and right-click on the problem Intel wireless network adapter.

Select uninstall and check the box uninstall driver.

Restart the computer and install the latest driver, you just downloaded and see if that solves the problem.

  • Conflict of Bluetooth and WiDi: Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160

I have a HP Envy 17 laptop t-j100 with 4th generation CPU i7-4700mq as well as the NIC Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160.  The Wifi and Bluetooth worked well. However, Bluetooth has stopped working and has disappeared from the list of devices in Device Manager after you install Intel WiDi software.

Can Bluetooth and WiDi coexist on this map of 3160 AC? If so, how to make two of them work?

    I appreciate your kind help.

Hello gyshen, welcome to the Forums of HP.

I see that you have a problem with the Bluetooth works on your laptop after installing software WiDi. I will try to help you with this.

What do you mean, by installing software WiDi? Where have you installed this from?

Deepen the question for you and to answer your questions, both can "coexist" using the map Intel AC 3160. This is confirmed here: Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160.

The processor is also supported: Intel® Core™ processor i7-4700MQ.

I suggest try to update/install the two drivers (without wireless/bluetooth). They are here:
    Driver LAN wireless Intel 7260/3160
    Driver Bluetooth 4.0 Intel

I'll also give you this document: Using Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) of media to your TV display as it can be useful to you.

These are the most recent provided by HP to your laptop.

Let me know if those who help at all, please post on the Forums of HP.

Check your wireless card form factor.  Instantly, it shows the old style card, and on that, it shows the new style half mini-map.

You will have one or the other.  Only one of form factors will work.

In addition, HP has removed this restriction of starting BIOS about a year to 15 months.

I bought a HP 350 G1 in February, and I wanted to mirror screen my PC, but does not support the wlan card, he had.

I know that many members of the forum have been install some wireless cards they want lately in their Intel based PC without problems.

So I had an Intel 6230 HMC dual band wireless card (able WIDI) lying around and it worked without problem, and I can't my smart mirror TV screen with my PC.

Now that I know it works, I just ordered the Intel Dual band 7260 card that has BT 4.0 instead of BT 3.0 a 6230.

I paid only $19.50, so why not?  In addition, it is a new wireless model with WIDI adapter.

  • Network of abandonment (intermittent and consistent) - Dell Inspiron 7347, Win 8.1, Linksys BEFW11S4, adapter Intel dual band wireless AC 7265

History: I just bought a laptop / Tablet Dell Inspiron 7347 (exchanged for another unit, see below).   Problems to maintain a strong connection and when connected, it is very slow.   When it is connected to the wireless router, it maintains a (slow) connection for 3-5 minutes and then craps out (restrict the connection with the yellow "!" on the WiFi in the taskbar).  He then returned to the top of 1 3 minutes later.  It's a coherent continuous cycle.  I tried to reset the default router with no luck.

All the other devices on this router (office, phone, IPad) all hold the connection without problem at the same time, this device is not.

Notable: Before I bought this tablet/laptop I bought an Acer Aspire tablet / laptop which had exactly the same problem on my network.  I returned the unit for other reasons (quality of construction etc.), but he had the same OS (Win 8.1).  I don't know if she had the same network adapter.

What I tried: cycling the router - cycling the modem - router the default factory reset of small animals - U-APSD deactivation on the network card - slapping me hard - offering to the gods...

What I tried to try: tried to update the drivers for the Intel card using the Intel drivers update (adapter drivers for Win 8.1 and Intel PROset wireless), but he kept time during download because... THE NETWORK IS NOT STABLE! (ugh!)
