  Computer desktop and personalization. My sister recently used my PC(XP Professional) and all the files on my deskstop dissaperead, I tried the system restore, paste the new shortcuts but it does not appear on my desk instead it is apparent on the deskstop access you MY computer in the 2nd highest scroll bar, but still I can't put all the shortcuts on my deskstop.

  Have you seen a message while connected with a temporary profile? If so, then they are always in your original profile, but it has been corrupted. You will need to create a new copy of the old files before deleting.

  Hi, someone started to play with my lap top prog running vista and now I can't have my original startup icon back, I tried everything I know by clicking on properties of the start menu and try Classic view but im still left with a white bar and a very small start of old style icon help!

  Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

  Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

  Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

  Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

  If you still want to open the sites that you opened before, in the Options dialog box, go to the general Panel and make sure that the parameter 'When Firefox starts' is set to ' show my windows and tabs from last time '. You will not be asked to save the tabs because they are automatically registered.

  If it is set to one, but sites do not open when you start Firefox, open your profile folder and delete sessionstore.js and if there are sessionstore.bak. For more information on how to find your profile folder, see the article of profiles - where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data . Who can help if the file that stores the details of the session is corrupt.

  Claes has pretty much nailed. You will do well to spend time to learn how Lightroom works. He is not like most software that you've used before, and if you don't understand what it does and how it does, you stand a good chance of losing your images.

  Try googling 'Lightroom tutorials' or 'get started in Lightroom. It's not rocket science, but it's different.
