Want to downgrade to genuine Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows Server 2003 on my HP Pavilion DV4t-1600

Hello

IM struggling to downgrade my factory installed windows 7 to windows server 2003 on my HP Pavilion DV4t-1600

Pls help me to do that and also provide me with changes to the BIOS (if any)

Hi Virginia,

If you have the full support for Windows Server 2003 (not an upgrade), your only option is to install clean (full). You can not downgrade Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows Server 2003. You must do a clean install. Back up your important files, start the Windows Server 2003 DVD and proceed with the installation as usual.

Don't forget to mark this reply as useful if it helped you, and let me know what happens.

No version of Acrobat is for the server... (except Terminal Server). It's technique and license number.

You can not downgrade retail licenses. Possibly of multi-user licenses.

    > When I insert the CD, the "install Windows Server 2003" is disabled
What do you mean by people with disabilities?

You are not able to boot from the CD?

In these cases, please press the C button immediately after switching on the laptop. This should allow booting from the CD/DVD drive.
Alternatively, you can try to press the F12 key instead of the C key. This should allow the start menu. Then you could choose the STRANGE as boot device and might try to boot from the CD-ROM Server Win.

  • Linux vs Windows Server 2003 as a guest

I'm building a new NAS for my home network. After doing extensive research on my OS options, I decided that Ubuntu 10.10 Server and Windows Server 2003 will be used. My question, which OS works better on top of the other, the performance and stability wise? Should I run VMware Server 2.0 on Ubuntu and virtualize Windows Server 2003, or vice versa?

Here's my hardware configuration. Remember, I use Ubuntu with 3 drives of 2 TB and 3 750 GB drives, software RAID5. Records of 2 to 3, will be attached to a Rosewill RC-218 SATA II controller.

If you want to either run a single Ubuntu VM on a host of 2003 or run a single VM 2003 on an Ubuntu host?

Then I'd clearly vote for host of 2003 for the following reasons:

-installation of VMserver 2 on 2003 is trivial, while it is an adventure on current Linux

-Host Windows can be configured to return all the virtual RAM inside the actual RAM that is not possible on Linux hosts - which means that a host of 2003 will work better for a single virtual machine

-2003 is very stable so that a host Linux VMserver 2 tends to leaking memory after long uptimes

-on a host of 2003, you can easily use the ViClient to manage the virtual machines

    Hello

Are you looking for the drivers for Windows Server 2003?
Well, I think you will find all the drivers Win Server 2003 because this drivers don t exist.

Win Server 2003 operating system was designed based on windows XP.
So usually the drivers Win XP should work!

Furthermore, as you are probably aware that the Win Server 2003 operating system is not supported by Toshiba you need to search on sites of third 3rd ATI graphic driver.

Maybe a site www.omegadrivers.net might help you.

But note; 3 third party drivers can be installed ONLY at your own RISK! Why?
Because these drivers have not been tested and so no one can tell if the laptop will run stable and will work properly after installing these drivers.
