Want to know if Scanner 32-bit driver may be installed on Windows 7 64-bit operating system.

Original tile: 32-bit Windows 7 64-bit TWAIN driver

I just installed Windows 7 64 bit on a new machine. I have an Epson Perfection 3200 scanner but Epson does not deliver a 64-bit TWAIN driver, which is not very friendly to them. I don't want to have to buy Vuescan, just to get a pilot. Can I use 32-bit Epson installation?

Hello

Please contact Microsoft Community. I understand that you want to know if you can install the driver for the Scanner 32-bit on 64-bit Windows 7 operating system. I will surely help you this question.

All devices devices need 64-bit drivers to work on a 64-bit version of Windows. Drivers designed for 32-bit versions of Windows do not work on computers running 64-bit Windows versions.

See the article for more information.

32-bit and 64-bit Windows: frequently asked questions
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/32-bit-and-64-bit-Windows#1TC=Windows-7

However, you try to install all available updates Windows including optional updates and see if there is a 64 bit version of scanner drivers are available. If this isn't the case, you will need to purchase VueScan from Hamrick Software as suggested in the Web of Support of Epson site or check with the help of Epson if they have other alternative suggestions.

Hope this information helps. If you need more assistance or information on this question, reply to this message. I'll be happy to help you.

I have a HP Pavilion a1615.uk (RF783AA) and I want to upgrade the hardware so I can install a 64-bit operating system. What should I do to make a 64-bit system? It is an upgrade of the bios or it means new equipment?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

Normally, for modern machines we only need the 64 bit operating system itself and the drivers appropriate to go with it. There is no need to upgrade the hardware except we may want more RAM to use the 64 bit OS.

In your case, the machine is too old, my suggestion is to buy a new machine. In the long run, can be cheaper than buying part and piece of component to upgrade the existing.

    Kind regards

  • What can I do to upgrade my computer laptop os 32-bit to a 64-bit operating system?

I have windows vista family premium, my os is 32-bit, I want to upgrade my only 32-bit computer to a 64-bit. What should I do to change

    my computer to 64-bit?

First, check with the manufacturer of the computer to determine bring them or not, he is capable of running a 64-bit operating system.  You should also check with the manufacturer of your devices (printer, scanner, webcam, etc.) to ensure that 64-bit device drivers are available.

Then buy Vista 64-bit edition desired and, after you have backed up all the data that you want to keep, format the hard drive and install the new OS, install your applications and restore your data.

I read your post with a lot of attention. There seems to be some confusion on your part. I want to arrempt in order to clarify the information so that a good solution might be found for your needs.

The Epson LQ-680 is a matrix printer with a print head 24 pins. It is designed to use a parallel port. This means that its computer interface conforms to the IEEE 1284 specification. This is often referred to as a Centronics parallel port. Series No.

    http://www.Epson.com/cgi-bin/store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&OID=14331&infoType=overview

Thus, because your computer does not have a port for a direct connection, you must use a parallel to USB device.

Not all of these devices are supported printers. Please check the specifications of the device that you use to connect your USB printer and confirm that it supports the printers. It is preferable that it supports bidirectional printing through the device. If it is not the case, getting the arrangements put in place for this printer could be a problem.

    =================

You did not mention whether your machine is a laptop or computer desk/workstration. If the latter, and if she will allow to install PCI cards or PCI-E, install a parallel port card would work more simply.

If you want other help, please let us know the make and model of the parallel to USB device.

  • Dell studio one 64-bit operating system

I have a Dell Studio one operating system 64-bit and need to know if I can install a 32-bit operating system on his computer without any problem.  I have several programs that can only be used on a 32-bit system. Please tell us if this can be done and what to buy to do.

    http://support.Dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx

Check on the Dell site above to ensure that the Vista 32-bit drivers are available for your model computer.

You must then buy a license and Vista operating system 32-bit full disk and do a clean install of the 32-bit operating system.

How to do a clean install:

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

    (3) I know 64-bit is faster and more efficient than the 32-bit processor, but why os 32/64 bit too? OS working elbow-to-elbow with processors?

    (1) If you have an Intel processor, check here: http://ark.intel.com/ (all news are 64-bit, but many in the pentium and celeron series are not)
No matter what AMD processor once sempron will be 64-bit.

    (2) No. 32-bit operating systems were once popular is that 32-bit processors cannot run 64-bit operating systems (although the 64-bit processors can run 32-bit operating systems.

    (3) see above. The only drawback to a 32 bit OS is that you can not use more than 3.3 GB of RAM, or to run 64-bit applications.

  • Pavilion a1250n: cannot use 4 GB of memory on 64-bit operating system

I resurrected this PC to give to my grandson, so I added 2 GB more memory.

But when he starts, he sees only 3 GB.

The configuration of the BIOS shows all 4 sticks of 1 GB.

I ran the test memory Windows startup, and it shows all 4 GB and it extracted all OK.

But, the properties of PC watch 4GB installed, 2.75 GB usable.

I confirmed that Max Memory has been disabled in the MSCONFIG startup parameters.

Googling has provided advice to set up activate Memory Remap in BIOS - but there is no such setting, in fact, there are NO parameters associated with the memory in the BIOS.

I am running the latest version of the BIOS - there is no update.

I use an add-in video card GeForce and hoped there will be a setting in the BIOS to avoid system memory allocated to the integrated video chipset, but only focus on the video entry is to choose what video is the main, and I already defined on PCI - E.

I am at one loss as to what else to do...

    Hello:

What you see is probably normal for a PC with an AMD chipset this old.

I know for a fact that on a desktop computer Intel, you must run with a chipset 965 or newer which takes in charge of 8 GB of memory or more, so that Windows to "see and use" 4 GB of physical memory.

These PC that can support 4 GB memory shows the same amount of memory usable net as a 32-bit operating system.

There is nothing you can do about it.

I guess the same goes for AMD platforms... you probably have a PC with a chipset that can take over 8 GB or more memory on order for Windows to "see and use" all of the 4 GB of physical memory.

  • LabWindows 4.0 is compatible with the 64-bit operating system?

I have a very old code CVI for PCI 6030th, who works on a 32-bit windows xp computer. The PCI card has been installed recently on a new computer that has a 64-bit windows 7 on it. The code does not work on the new pc. I was told that 6030th PCI can be performed by a virtual pc, so the only option would be to partition the HARD drive and install windows xp. CVI 4.0 code runs on a 64-bit operating system? I guess that the drivers may not be compatible. If not, is there a way to run the old code on a new version of labwindows cvi without having to rewrite it completely?

    Thank you!

    Sikora

    Hi Sikora,

I don't think you'll be in too much luck. I'm assuming that your code has probably been covering on your PCI device 6030th using traditional DAQ, which is not supported on the operating systems Windows 7. You might go to NOR-DAQmx 9.1.1, that is supported on Windows 7, but this will require you to rewrite your code to convert into orders DAQmx.

  • I just bought a new computer.it has windows 7 64 bit operating system, it is good with the exception of my call of duty games running, they used to run very well on my windows vista 32 bit system, what is the problem?

There are video games that are compatible with windows 7 64 bit operating systems?

    Hello Peter.

Yes almost all games in 10 years works perfectly on 64-bit Windows.  What Call of Duty games are you having problems with?  If the first two, you might have to enter the video drivers for your graphics card/computer manufacturer as the first two required OpenGL which is not included with the drivers that Windows uses by default (this has been the case since at least Windows XP).
