Want to m6-k015dx: HP Envy M6-k015dx-installation of Windows 10

On a three months ago, the hard drive on that laptop is dead. Since then, I have installed a smaller (250 gb vs 750 GB) SSD and installed Ubuntu as an interim OS because it's not my main computer. When the previous drive died, I had improved this Windows 10 laptop and plan to buy 10 Windows and install it via the USB port. When I install the drivers for this laptop specific installs as well or I'll have to install manually?

Hello:

If you had already upgraded to W10 on your laptop and it has been successfully activated, you can clean install W10 free by making the support of installation from the link below.

http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/Windows10

When you get to the installation routine, you select the option "I don't have a product key" and 10 windows will install and activate automatically as the Microsoft activation servers have a record that W10 has been previously installed and activated on your laptop.

Regarding the drivers... everything that is missing after that W10 is installed, you will need to install the drivers there is place of support for your laptop and driver page.

    Hello

"do a custom (clean) installation for windows 7 home premium.

You say you want to install Windows 7, NOT Vista.

It is a better idea if you buy you the Windows 7 DVD and then install it from the media.

You then save model the work of making a Bootable DVD from the download and you also then have a reliable way to reinstall Windows 7 and repair work on this, if you have the need to.

Before purchasing Windows 7, make sure that your hardware and software will work properly with him.

Take some time and these checks:

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

  • Want TO K204TX 15: HP ENVY K204TX - RAM Installation

    Hello

I want to upgrade the RAM, the thing is I can get RAM cheap online. The problem is I don't think an easy way to fit it inside this laptop. This is screwed with no easy to access these items option.

I mean I have a HP Probook s 4530, who had coverage back that can be easily removed and the ram and HARD drive are accessible. But how can I update this (HP Envy 15 K 204 TX)...? without voiding the warranty. Only way is to go to the center of service...? And if I provide RAM, even so will I pay... ? I'm on warranty...

If anyone has experienced this... or knows about it, would appreciate the help! coz I have to hunt for service centres in the region.

    Hello @vinoHP,

    Thanks for the reply.

I am pleased that your laptop is still under warranty.  I do not deal with warranty, so I'm not sure if the ram upgrade could invalidate or not.  I recommend you contact the HP support and curious for a definitive answer.  If it might void the warranty, they would also be able to advise you on any cost, if any, did.

Please contact HP to Contact HP Supportassistance.

    Good luck!

    Hello Baron Belal,

Since your computer is new, contact the computer manufacturer to get the recovery disks. You can have a recovery on your computer partition to use instead of the discs. Look at your documentation or contact the manufacturer. It should still be under warranty.

  • Installation of Windows 7 64 bit on Envy M6-1205dx - I'm screwed for now...

I just want to M6-1205dx... First thing I did was bust on my CD of Windows 7 64-bit... I enabled legacy mode so that it can boot from CD... I deleted all but the recovery partition (thinking it would allow me to go to Windows 8 I if desired)... I install W7, and then he got all the way to the end of the installation and gave error "" windows cannot configure at installed on this hardware "and won't be finished...»

Then, I discovered that it is not a recovery (must have need of one of the other partitions I deleted) and given that manufacturers no longer include media (all the cents.35 it cost them) I'm totally screwed...

I really wish I had loaded W7, but if that's impossible, I would put 8 on!

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

Today, I had a Client who wanted to Downgrade to Windows 7 Windows 8 on a laptop HP Envy M6.  After that reading many articles about everyones unsuccessful attempts to install Windows 7 on this laptop, I had to respond.

    First Things First

    1. go into the BIOS and enable the Legacy Mode.

    2. under the Legacy boot order - have the CD - RW / DVD - RW DRIVE Boot First.

    3. restart the computer

    4. press the "ESC" button when she said HP or when it says press ESC for Boot Options

    5. Select "F9" for "Boot Device Options '.

NOTE: DO NOT SELECT THE ' INTERNAL CD/DVD ROM DRIVE (UEFI) - even knowing that you have your Windows 7 DVD in the drive

6 SELECT ' INTERNAL CD/DVD-ROM DRIVE (this is the Option to boot Legacy & is the difference between failure and success.

    7. install Windows 7 normally

PLEASE NOTE: DELETE ALL PARTITIONS ON THE DRIVE C, INCLUDING THE RECOVERY.  IF YOU DO DELETE A RECOVERY, THIS PROCESS WILL NOT WORK.

    8. upon completion of the installation of Windows 7.  Open the Device Manager.  You will notice that there are several devices that the drivers are not installed.  PCI device / Sm Bus controller / network card / adapter Ethernet / USB controller / USB Controller.

9 go to the following Web page of HP and install Audio / LAN / WIFI / CARD READER / GRAPHICS for Windows 7 64 bit, providing that you have installed a 64-bit Windows Version.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=4063 & LC = on & CC = US & DLC = in & sw_lang = & Product = 5282147 #N1887

Don't forget not under "Input Devices" to download the card - reader This will install the driver for the PCI device in Device Manager.

In Device Manager - you'll end up with SM Bus controller and 2 USB controllers to install.

10 navigate to this Wepage Lenovo for the Bus SM AMD controller driver.  Download the file (DO NOT RUN) and install as usual.  Accept the license agreement.  After completing the driver installation, the device shows as installed SM Bus controller Manager (possibly after a reboot).

    http://support.Lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?docid=DS019868

    11. Finally, you need to install the drivers for USB 3.0 to your card controller mother AMD.  Go to the following Web site to download these drivers.

    http://support.Lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?docid=DS030088

    NOTE: RUN-DOWNLOAD & INSTALL normally

    12. open the device Again Manager - check the peripheral No. are yellow (point yellow question mark)

    13. restart the PC after installing all the drivers

    14. after rebooting, open the Device Manager and you will see that all devices have been installed.

    Hello

Q1: Yes, you can install Windows on a module mSATA on this laptop...

    http://Forum.NotebookReview.com/HP-envy-HDX/729085-envy-15T-J000-mSATA-SSD-HDD-fresh-install-mSATA-boot-drive.html

I recommend to remove the hard drive if the how does not say that. MSATA module is compatible, so I do not think that this will affect the warranty.

Q2: Difficult to answer this one, but some guy already confirmed that Samsung PM830 256 GB drives to work with this series. Other models also work, just search this forum...

Q3: The mSATA can be used as cache or a boot disk. If it will be useful to cache it will not work with 12 GB or more according to the manual of the laptop series. If it will be used as boot drive should not be a limitation, so you can use the max 16 GB or so.

Q4: mSATA is a format standard/interface/so any mSATA SSD must correspond to the slot, the capacity is not serious.

Q5: As I said mSATA is an interface (slot), SATA II or III (speed) is a matter of the chip on the motherboard. This is the case even as the typical SATA connection. Connectors and slots are the same, but the speed is founded by the chipset...

  • HP Envy 17-J006ED drivers for Windows 7?

    Hello people!

I just bought my laptop new HP Envy 17 J006ED.

I'll put up a new installation of Windows 7 on a new SSD.

I would like to ask where can I find the right drivers for my model and they instead beforehand in order not to face unwanted problems?

Everyone sings the above downgrade to guide me?

Any help will be very appreciated!

    Kind regards

    Zak

    Hi, Zak:

There is a certain process, you will need to do in order to get the chart works correctly.

First of all, do your W8 recovery media set even if you want to keep W8 on your current HARD drive.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03481733

Then, you will need to change a setting in the BIOS to be able to install and run W7 on your laptop.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03736054

    Drivers:

Use the drivers in section chipset, audio driver, applicable network drivers and driver of this model card reader:

    http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdHome/?sp4ts.oid=5405417&spf_p.tpst=swdMain&spf_p.prp_swdMain=wsrp-navigationalState%3DswEnvOID%253D4059%257CswLang%253D%257Caction%253DlistDriver&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken

    Now for the graphics...

First, you must install the driver Intel graphics from this link (or you can try the above model Intel graphic driver).

    https://downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23405&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207%20(64-bit) * & DownloadType = 0a % 09% 09% 09% 09% 09% 09% 09Drivers % 0 a 09 09% 09% 09% 09% 09

Then, you install the graphics driver nvidia.

    http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/70187/en-us

For any other driver you need, you can probably get a series HP business notebook above, but if you know not what you are missing, click on the device that need pilots and display the hardware ID, so I can link to the driver you need.

If you don't know where to find the hardware ID, please read the guide at the link below.

Unfortunately, when I did, I found that the drivers on the HP website do not work for some things, especially my wi - fi.

In Device Manager there are three things that make their appearance as having a problem:

    Unknown device:

    Thank you!

Nevermind, I fixed it myself by reading old son of Paul_Tikkanen

    I used http://www.pcidatabase.com/index.php

and found the diver that I needed, and now I don't have to pay $40 for the version of bloatware.  Yay!

  • Envy 17 3010eg: upgrade to Windows 8 and update Bios: no switchable graphics and other problems

    Hello

I'm of the Germany, but I'll do my best to write this in English.

    The product name and number: HP Envy 17 3010eg {information}

Operating system: Windows 8 Pro 64-bit

    Drivers: everything up to date

    Long story short,

I just wanted to upgrade the pre-installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit to the new Windows 8 Pro 64-bit.

So I waited until the driver for Windows 8 support has been completed by HP.

This month, I noticed that HP has released a graphic driver for Windows 8.

Happy as I was I installed Windows 8 immediately via upgrade function.

I installed all the missing drivers.

    * Update Bios to F.08*

I noticed that I had to upgrade my Bios to version F.08 to install new graphics drivers. I did the upgrade and installation of the driver.

BUT after the update to the version of the Bios the laptop only F.08 recognized the AMD graphics card. The integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics card had disappeared!

Even after installing the new graphics driver, the Intel card is still missing in the 'Device Manager' of Windows 8.

The battery life is now about 1 1/2 to 2 hours maximum because the laptop always uses the card AMD.

So I looked in the 'new' Bios, but I have not found a way to change the graphics card. So I think that there is only a 'software' switch to do so.

I have installed "AIDA64"and look under "Graphics".» The graphics card Intel HD 3000 has been mentioned as 'disabled'.

Nice, but I have no idea how to turn it on again.

So I re-installed Windows 8. This time, I did a completely clean install. With the same results.

So, I switched to Windows 7, and there you go. Two graphics cards are displayed in "Device Manager" and the switchable graphics feature works perfectly (! even with the new version of the Bios F.08!).

    * Tested in Bios Version F.09*

Yesterday, I noticed another Bios Update. This time in version F.09.

So, I updated the Bios with Windows 7 installed.

    Everything went well (I thought!).

Once, I've done a completely new installation of Windows 8 to take a peek, if Intel HD 3000 card will be recognized this time.

    BUT without success...

So, I thought that the problem could only be Windows 8, because Windows 7 works perfectly.

    * Problems with Bios Version F.09*

BUT then, I noticed a strange behaviour of my laptop:

    -proximity sensor no longer works

-the keyboard backlight cannot be (DIS-) activated

-the brightness of the backlight is half as usual

-internal fans are going crazy-> they accelerate without reason (laptop is idle) and won't slow down until I do a re-boot

    * Version of the Bios downgraded to F.05*

So, I spent to the version of the Bios to the older Version available: F05

And I was a little shocked by the result.

Windows 8 acknowledged the Intel HD 3000 graphics card again!

    The problem is the Bios!

Then, I upgraded the version of Bios version to see which version of the cause of the problem:

    Œuvres F05

    Œuvres F.06

    F.08 does not work

    F.09 does not work

So I decided to stay with the version F.06

BUT to install the new Windows graphic 8 driver you need the version of Bios F.08 (min.).

    I installed the driver anyway...

I found myself with a black screen... I had to reinstall Windows completely.

    Yet more long story short,

I ended up using Windows 8 Pro 64 - bit with the graphics card AMD only.

I also updated the Bios (back) to the version F.08 dispelled the problems with the version of the Bios F.09 I mentioned.

So for the moment I am absolutely no idea what the problem might be.

The support has not yet heard of these problems and I have not found any website which explains the same problem.

Every posting, I found explains that the AMD card is not recognized by Windows 8 but Intel HD card.

Someone else got the same problems?

What do you think? Is it really a problem with the Bios?

What can I do to solve the problem?

for me the best driver are:

    http://leshcatlabs.NET/

Works Perfekt (cards during execution of the F06 BIOS and a map when F08/09) and are updated often.

I want to download El Capitan, but KEEP the installation program.

I have a partitioned hard drive, (I need to keep old versions of Mac OS because I do video editing).

How can I keep El Capitan Installer?   As many know, in the world of the downloaded software, installers can be removed or disappear. I like to keep a copy of things as much as possible.

    Thank you.

As soon as the download is complete, it will jump to the top of the installation start screen. Press command-Q to stop the installation. Open the Applications folder and copy the El Capitan installer in any drive you want as a backup.

Can I download it from the HP site?

    IAN-VANCOUVER

    Yes, both...

How the MS download tool usually does is it checks that you have already installed when you run the download tool to make sure that you download the same version.

But since you have to use another PC to download, just be sure that you download the SAME VERSION of Win10 you have on the PC.

    Good luck
