  Your question is about a couple of terms that may not be much better than the wave by their nature... 'ideal' and 'standards' Chances are you will only to mingle opinions comments as you have already met.

  My opinion would be to keep the thing from the order of 24 to 30 fps and see how it plays for you.  The more fps, the more tax the system that tries to present the game.  The human eye, it has its limits with regard to the ability to detect things that change visually, and when you are 24 to 30 you are probably sufficiently covering this limitation.

  Rather than focusing on the fps, the focus should be more on elements of effective treatment/coding/design.  At any time, you can change the fps, but change the design to try to optiimize performance is not so easily accomplished.

  To turn off hardware acceleration in Flash Player:

  If I turn the printer off and turn it back on I can do what I wanted to do.
