Watch a video on Qosmio G30 of Hi8 (analog) camera.

One of my reasons to buy Qosmio was to use a TV - to be able to view videos from my analog camera and scan them. But I can't do Qosmio works correctly with my camera. I tried to connect the camera through the video and S-video, but I get a very bad quality image (not color!). Why is this? When I connect my camera to a TV, it shows very good image. I thought that with the Qosmio, it will be the same. I was wrong? In addition, the manual says you should use WinDVR software, but it was not installed (I had to buy it and install it). Can someone help me to connect my camera to Qosmio and operate well (please, instructions step by step)?

> can't do Qosmio works correctly with my camera

First of all, I think that you can't do your camera works properly with your Qosmio. For me, it's a very important difference. I connected my digital camera for Qosmio G20 and saved material recorded everything on the HARD drive. Later, I used Ulead Movie Maker to create a DVD.

I have also the same tested with VHS recorder connected to my Qosmio. I was able to copy all the old movies on the HARD drive. Connect your external device on port antenna Qosmio (VCR VHS). You can watch the material recorded on Qosmioplayer or using Media Center Edition. Cam switch to play mode and at the same time start scanning on Qosmioplayer or Media Center edition channels (your choice what you want to use). In my case, MCE has based the image on channel 33, and image quality was very good.

To connect the digital camera I used the firewire port. Can you do the same? My Cam is recognized automatically and also shown Ulead Movie Maker as signal source. Copy and video editing was a piece of cake.

Please try all possible options. I also tested record with Qosmioplayer. It works well, but I think that the image quality is not very good.

  • The simultaneous use of two input DVB - T & S - Video on Qosmio G30

Is it possible, Qosmio player or media library, to have the G30 established to receive a signal from two the built in DVB - T tuner & an external source, such as Sky Digital, connected to the S-video input or Composite?

The setting in the library seems to insist that you choose one or the other, which seems extremely restrictive.

Also, if possible, then would it be possible to record one and watch the other?

The other feature limit seems to be that, despite its hybrid TV tuner, media library allow only one tuner analog or digital set up again, which means that it cannot be used to record from one channel and watch another.

    Hello

This is a very interesting question, but I guess that it is not possible to do this with the Microsoft MCE.
Like you said you can use either the analog or digital configuration, but not both together. But of course, you can use standard connectors such as S-video to connect your cable or satellite for your PC Media Center box and then to watch and record TV programs.
But I don't know if you can do all of m.

Some Media Center PCs are equipped to handle multiple tuners.
For example, if your PC Media Center comes with two TV tuners, you can record two programs while watching a third recorded program.

You know the Microsoft MCE FAQ site?

  • Ulead DVD Movie Factory on Qosmio G30

    Hi all

I have a Qosmio G30-194. That came with Windows media center, but I update for Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit.
All the drivers work fine except the VIDEO IN and S-video ports.

When I downloaded from Toshiba Center dvd movie factory 5.51.0147.05 downloads, they said that it is the correct driver for it.
But does not work because during the course of the installation, the program says "the installation program can't find Ulead Dvd Movie factory 5 installed on your system.
Seems to me I downloaded at Toshiba, just a pach file.

I can't install Dvd Movie Factory to retrieve original dvd because there are different file.
If you have tips, please let me know!

    Thank you very much!!

    Hello

    > When I downloaded from Toshiba Center dvd movie factory 5.51.0147.05 downloads, they said that it is the correct driver for it.
    I wonder about this sentence.

As far as I know as the Ulead Dvd Movie factory 5 is additional software which can be downloaded from the Toshiba page. There are on the Toshiba and the image are on the Toshiba Recovery CD. This is an OEM version and can be installed only on Toshiba laptops you.

So if you want to install on the Vista operating system, you have to buy a full version!

Incidentally: the gift of ports S-video and VIDEO-IN t need all drivers! To capture video you need a 3rd party software like Ulead Dvd Movie factory, but you can also use other programs as well.

    Good bye

  • Qosmio G30-116: how to connect to the Sky Digital box to watch TV?

I recently bought the Qosmio G30-116, with the understanding that I can connect my digital Sky to the laptop (somehow) and watch and record the sky on the laptop

    * note: I do not use TNT or TV I'm on SKY DIGITAL *.
SINA the converter cable provided to connect the video in on the laptop (video is like a headfone Jack and converter converts to this female RCA/RCA)

I connected on the laptop and then connect a RCA 3 SCART toward it then in the area of the sky, when you set up the TV section in Windows Media Center, I followed the instructions until it gets to the point where it scans a signal, (before that I wonder what kind of signal that I receive, I select digital but have tried all combinations in) but it does not find a signal.

Now I was told that Windows Media Center doesn't support analog input and the connection between the sky and the laptop is analog.
Is this correct or not? then, while typing this I learned by someone else that my laptop is not capable of receiveing SKY DIGITAl as it cannot decode or something. Is that also correct? If not, can what am I doing wrong, and someone help me to get it going? And I go about it the right way or I'm quite the wrong way if the laptop is capable of it?

    Hi Liam

AFAIK if you are using an external receiver (sat receiver or even sky digital box) the laptop can bring out just what external device send to the laptop. You can connect your external case to the laptop using composite to the port (transfer of video and audio signals). After that, you can start Qosmioplayer and analyze the available channels.

You will find a program, but the different channels, you must select the box itself. If a channel must be registered, use Qosmioplayer save option.

The same must be possible with WMCE. I'm not 100% sure but I also think that the connection between laptop and Skype is analog.

Sorry, but that's all I know about Qosmio. I tested it with Qosmio G20.

  • Qosmio G30: black and white photo via the S-video input

    Hello

I have a Qosmio G30 Win XP MCE running. I'm watching the TV from my digi via S-video sky box in the port within the media library. The problem is that the picture is black and white and not very good (lots of interlacing artifacts).

I checked the driver for the 'TOSHIBA PCI DVB-T/Analog Tuner hybrid' and I am running the latest version of Toshiba, I also checked the output settings on my Sky box digi, which are correct. Is there a resolution?

    Thank you.

Have you noticed the same result with Qosmioplayer and MCE?

  • Qosmio G30-155: video Capture does not work using s-video in port

Toshiba Qosmio G30-155 video capture does not work via the ports of the video (Windows Vista Ultimate x 86) victory of version 3.90 BIOS
Video capture does not work in Windows Media Center, even if selected as ports of entry port composite or s-video in Windows Media Center settings.

In the BIOS version 3.90 parameters via esc - F1 can only select this option: NTSC (USA), NTSC (Japan), PAL (S-video).

It is worth noting that the laptop is supposed to be capture NTSC for composite input mode

Someone turned to make this model of video capture for laptop, via composite video input with the new version of the BIOS (version 3.90 win)?

Can you please explain what you want to do exactly?

Many years ago I had this old Qosmio with TV tuner and antenna in port so I used it to transfer my old VHS format videos and burn movie DVDs.

To this end, I didn't use Windows Media Center. Why you n t use other recording applications. I think that everyone is better than Windows Media Center.

    Hello

Why you n t visit the Adobe page and see for yourself
On the Adobe page, you will find info on all the need of hardware requirements.

But to be honest, the Qosmio G30 is a powerful machine and strong performance.
I think that it s not a problem of performance of the material, but maybe some software issue

Maybe you should try to read downloaded using another player movie files.
VLC Player is nice, small and free. It supports almost all possible file formats.

Hi, I'm starting to question my own sanity. I posted a question earlier on the video capture from the plug-in software component video port on the adjacent right sode of the laptop to the s-video input. I never really had a complete response to this (see link http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=19160&messageID=70057

  • Qosmio G30: Can I use component video software plug-in to connect the Gamecube or PS2?

The Qosmio G30 has a VIDEO-IN bit for the red/white/yellow wires... So I wondered if this meant that I could connect my PS2/Gamecube/similar to television, playing games on my laptop, save me money when I move to College :)

Indeed, if I pretend that I'll put up a set - top box for the TELEVISION, the Gamecube appears under "Video Composite", I just can't save like a channel or anything at this point...

Someone help? Would be very grateful...
    Thankee.

    Hello
The s-video-in port can be used to connect and to import data from the external device such as an analog video camera or VCR. Imported video can be edited or written on a DVD disc.
Video port can be used to connect the external device such as a game console

I think you should also consult the user manual because you will find the full description on unique ports and use.

  • Qosmio G30-158: is it possible to watch digital TV with Qosmio Player?

Living near Paris, I recently purchased a QOSMIO G30-158 PC, with tuner hybrid, and even if it is easy enough to watch digital tv programs with Windows Media Center, I don't understand why the Qosmio Player can only watch the analogue programmes, but also non-digital programs (my Qosmio Player references are v4.4.1 built 2006030822)? Thanks for helping me

    Alain

    Hello

Yes, you are on the right.
The Qosmio player may be able to receive only analog TV signals and its not able handle of digital television.
If you want to watch digital channels, you must use the MCE.

A few days ago I found this info on the net, but he did not also for me.

    Now I know and u too ;)

  • Qosmio G30-163: encoder Windows media does not recognize video devices

I can't get the Windows media encoder to recognize my video camera connected to the S-video (Qosmio G30-163) port.

I have a similar problem with Web conferencing pro application Marratech (it crashes after 15-20 seconds if I try to use it-during the time the application is inactive - in configuration I see the photo/video test).

If I use InterVideo® WinDVD Creator 2 Platinum software packaged for video capture it works fine.

    Hello

In my opinion there would be something wrong with the compatibility of the MCE and s-video. Have you tried to run the MCE updates?
If the s-video connection works with InterVideo WinDVD Creator, then I guess there is no hardware malfunction (s-video port).

How about the video and the port? Have you checked if it works?
This port allows you to import video data from analog video camera.
    I recommend you this option

    Hello

You can press the TV key which is placed above the F keys to start the Media Center edition! As I remember it s a first touch.
Press this button will launch the CCM who pick up a signal from the s-video port.

Did you look in the user manual? Please do it! The preinstalled operating manual provides lots of useful information and advice about the ECM and the video in the port ;)

  • Qosmio G30 - video input using WinDVD Creator and WinDVR 5 problems

    Hi all
My G30 (PQL32L) supplied with Windows MCE. It has preinstalled WinDVD Creator 2 and personally I install WinDVR 5 (application of part 3 came with my Plextor ConvertX PX-TV402U PVR).

    Problems:
1 WinDVD Creator 2: failed to set the TV system. I plugged my video source via the video cable (yellow, white, red) provided and connected to the AV-in port. I chose TV on the HARD drive for the new project. Default WinDVD defined as NTSC but my TV system is PAL. Therefore, input video quality is blurry and cut in two. Once I changed the setting in the software of PAL, the video screen turned black and no response. I have no problem with Qosmio Player with the same configuration of the connection.

2 5 WinDVR: Application can not start correctly (hang and cannot complete the program) I to my Plextor ConvertX PX-TV402U PVR TV source, then connect it via USB2.0 for G30. My ConvertX works in my office, but failed with the G30. The application cannot start properly and hung. No response yet I'm trying to complete the program, but the screen was always there. When I try to stop my G30 then Windows MCE hung at the "Closing Windows" screen. I have to stop by pressing the button. ConvertX being operation USB cable, it is not achievable in Qosmio.

Can someone help to solve these or give advice?

    Fine thanks
    Samuel

    Hello

I copied the film on my camcorder for Qosmio G30 (WXP MCE) without any problem and subsequently created the DVD using Ulead moviefactory program. I also tested it with VHS-recorder. Once again without any problem!

My camcorder was connected with firewire cable and it has been recognized correctly. VHS-recorder was connected with the aerial cable simply. I was able to record sources using Qosmioplayer (it was just to test because I'm interested, how it works). Movie from VHS-recorder was also possible to record using Media Center Edition.

I know I also tested it with pre-installed Win DVD Creator but camcorder has not been recognized as usual. If I remember well I put the TV source and that the camcorder is recognized correctly. To be honest I don't like this Win DVD Creator and I have not tested properly.

So I would like to know what your video source and what you hear in AV-in port.
Please tell me exactly what cable you use for audio/video data transfer and exact port on your Qosmio laptop?

This problem exists with two HD DVD, heroes and Batman Returns.

    Help

    Concerning

    Nick

    Hello

It seems that you are using Vista Ultimate and not the original Vista that was preinstalled on the Qosmio G30.

I think I know why Toshiba HD player produces this error message.
Always is that the Toshiba HD player that is on the page of the Toshiba driver is not a full version but only the update. The full version of the HD DVD from Toshiba drive did not appear on the page of the Toshiba driver due to some restrictions.

If you want to use the HD DVD player, you must install the Toshiba image, and then you could install the update of the page.
But note; the recovery CD Toshiba which contains the image will format the whole HARD drive.
This is why don t forget to back up your data.
