Watch is missing, but I have a screenshot?  Mystery!

Hi all

Over the weekend, my wife and I took a trip on the road.  I have a blocking my watch in a pocket of a backpack and threw it in the car. We drive all Friday night, then stayed in a hotel. In the hotel Friday night, I went to look for in this pocket for the watch, he wasn't there.  I quickly rejected it must be in the car.  But after quickly looking in the car, I couldn't find it.  Then we went to another place and I thought that maybe he fell in the hotel room.  I did call, no dice.  So now I think I lost the watch.

I went home after the weekend trip and I saw that in my pictures, I have a screenshot shows with the time 17:19 Saturday.  Now, at this time, I thought I had lost it at the hotel the night before. So I thought this might be good news... The intention always tear the car tonight just in case it's slipped into a crevasse that is not easily visible.

Here's the question if all is simple: at 17:19 on Saturday was the watch near me?  Or could the watch send this screenshot without the phone being nearby?

Thank you!

Hello

Perhaps, but not necessarily.

For example: If a screenshot is taken on Apple Watch when the pair iPhone is not available (for example, when there is no rank or airplane Mode is on), the screenshot is rather synchronized with Photos on the iPhone when the devices then reconnect.
