water damage

Hello

Recently, I dropped my iPhone in the pool 6. I'm not covered by a warranty. After consulting a technician, my phone is irreparable. I want to know what are my options with my phone unusable... example sell for parts?

Thank you!

What you decide to do, is you. However, remember that all your content is always on the device. If someone buys it for parts, they would be able to maybe recover all your data. You want them to be able to do. I suggest that you need to Apple and buy a replacement under warranty, for a reduced cost of a new.

  • IPhone 6 s life after water damage

So my iPhone 6s fell in the tub (I still feel stupid) and after doing all the steps and put it in the rice that I tried to open it a thirty hours after I put it in rice. The phone open, fortunately, but I noticed that it took a little longer to power and power off. He also had a bright diagonal stripe on the screen which I guess was the water so I put back it in the rice therapy. Anyway, my main question is, is the power on and put off the power of the issue or the problem of screen I mentioned something I have to worry?

You should worry about corrosion. Unfortunately, the iPhone is not waterproof. You're lucky if it still works after contact with water. Usually, phones and water do not mix, and water damage are not covered by the warranty. Corrosion has already begun.  You must schedule an appointment of genius at the Apple Store

to assess the level of damages. They will offer you the best solution.

  • How to backup iphone 6 after water damage?

Before putting in your device for a repair / replacement, you are prompted to make a backup of your device. This can be done directly from your device in iCloud or you can connect your device to your MACbook and do in iTunes.

But how you do it if your peripheral water damage (iphone 6) engaged?

Then it is too late, should always make a backup before something happens.

  • [URGENT!] I can't access my iPhone 5 because of water damage!

Hello, guys. HM, the story of how this happened is quite simple, I have obviously dropped my phone in the filled bathtub (whose water happened to contain bathbombs, foam, and other products). I pulled it out immediately and it worked perfectly fine, but the water display under which had left some unpleasant spots white and gray. I left my phone in the day rice overnight. I woke up for not much of a change, only a few pixels were dry air inside the huge waste of water. so, I decided several things, like rebooting, drying with AC, with a hair dryer, with a small pump I use to clean my DSLR lenses and nothing has worked, BUT my frozen screen. I can't type in any way to get a reaction and some scratches appear but fade quickly. I read that you have to reboot, so I did it, but now I can't access it because it asks for my password and I can't type. I really want to at least return it upward but iTunes or other software will not recognize it because it is locked. I don't really want to take it to the service. Any advice on how I can unlock unlock/dry/she? Ah, the buttons of my home and lock work perfectly well. Thank you!

You can not.  Your screen is obviously of water damaged and without screen tactile operation you really can't do anything with it until you have repaired or replaced.  No trouble reset or magic software is going to fix the damaged material.

You can't back up in iTunes now, there is no way to do it without functional touch screen.  If you had backups iCloud activated before that, then you should have a backup in place you will be able to restore from.  Yet once again, if you had not already activated your backup, there no way to do it now.

A backup is only useful if its done before a disaster occurs.  Once your material is damaged, your ability to implement damage control are limited or non-existent.

Take it to Apple for a free assessment of the damage and they can explain your options.  Most likely, an output device warranty replacement will be required.  And without a backup already in place, Yes, you go to floating content.

  • Plu heating and water damage

my ipod fell in the pool and ive put in the rice, but it does not turn when I put load response by heating but the screen is black and nothing happens.

Do not mix water and Electronics: strips of thin copper on the circuit board can corrode easily. It is very likely that you always have it damaged. Talk to an Apple Store - they can offer you a replacement reduced, although I don't know what their current policy (except that if it is still under warranty covering the water damage).

  • water damaged iphone memory are accessible by others?

So I found a place that is ready to buy my water damaged iphone 5s, problem is that they want remove me device from my icloud account and I'm not sure and didn't quite stupidly asking why they need me to do, so I am wondering here if they are able to access my memory of the iphone. I tried to connect my phone to my PC, which says that the device is discoverable but not readable, but when I used 'Wondershare Dr.Fone' it allowed me to get my data through Itunes backup file recovery. Which brings me to my assumption that if this software can access memory from my broken iphone, it means that other people can also? If so, how can I completely wipe my phone memory?

Sea water is corrosive. It is doubtful that the phone still works.  If you are concerned about this topic, then do not sell.

  • IPhone 6 s water damaged more

I recently damaged my iPhone more 6s due to water damage and I just got my replacement phone - another iPhone 6 s more.  However, I have to return my iPhone damaged by water, but it ends destroyed, it does not, etc. Instructions ask that I erase all the contents of my previous phone before returning, but how do I do that if I can't turn it on. I did remove my old SIM card and put it in my new iPhone 6 s more, is that enough?  I already located towards the top/restored my iPhone more than 6 s and I removed my old iPhone 6s than "find my iPhone". Disconnected from 'Find my iPhone' there is a selection that says once the phone is connected to the internet it would erase content and I chose, in the hope that it would remove any remaining info I have on the phone after removing the SIM card, if the phone is never repaired and returned to new. Thank you for your help.

As long as you remove the device to locate my iPhone, you did what is necessary.  If Apple has problems, they will contact you.

  • How to fix an iPhone 6 water damaged?

My iPhone 6 recently fell into the toilet clear-watered and I automatically took and cut the power, I then took down to the it Department in my college and had a technician shake all the water and remove my hard case to dry everywhere for me, but also to remove the SIM card. From there, I kept it out and about two hours later, obtained a bag of white rice to the kitchen of the College to put my i6, before putting it in my friend tried to turn it on and managed also, only the apple symbol pops up on the screen and it wouldn't really lights up, it is the latest sign that I saw him working. I went to repair an electronics store downtown, but the guy gave me a call recently and said all hope is lost for her. I am extremely disappointed by Apple at this time and I refuse to think that my iPhone 6 is burned because I saw many people fix on YouTube by soaked in alcohol, or something! I'm not sure what the seller of electronics, but I feel like I'm sure he didn't do much to revive. Please tell me that all hope is not lost, and how do I manage to fix it. I've been a very loyal customer to Apple and always highly recommend it to other people, but if my iPhone 6 is simply grilled on a 1 second fall-in with the toilet, I'll be sure to cut my short loyalty and express my very negative experience with others. The iPhone 6 is very expensive and should not have such abilities of poor water/water waterproof resistance of the water.

Blame you Apple to drop your phone in the water? Are you serious?

Even if the phone is quite expensive, it IS NOT impermeable to water, is not allowed to survive water damage. This is clearly stated everywhere where it is possible.

If you need a phone that is sustainable water, you should look for one of the specific models that have these capabilities and which are certified and tested to be waterproof to the water.

You can only hope for the best and maybe leave a feature request for Apple at the link.

  • Water damage on Satego X 200 - suggestions

So yesterday on my new fiancée part (5 days) knocked a WHOLE Vodka RedBull & on the keyboard of the thing... (I almost killed... ;)) Yes... so it was running and I immediately unplugged the sector and it took a bit for my drunk brain to realize that the battery has 3... not the 2 levers to eject the battery so now there are like 10 hours and the big bloop on the screen went a little (I scored after his release to see if his becomes larger or smaller...)

I have the idea that when moisture whole has DISAPPEARED from the screen to insert the battery and take a run... lets see what happening... someone better suggestions?

    Is your notebook dead now?

To be honest liquid damage is the worst thing that can happen. Water damage are really bad and in most cases, nothing can be done and the motherboard should be replaced.
Can you please tell us what you have done with your laptop?

  • A lot of problems with the battery after water damage

Hello! I dropped my iPhone 16 5s in toilets and pay a repair man local £30 to repair rather than £205 from Apple.

He managed to get the phone to run, but now I have the following problem:

    1. phone overheating and tells me to cool before I can use it.

    2. in the use of the app from tesco to run errands the other day, he went to blue screen and restarted on every 5 minutes.

    3. the witness of the life of battery does not work and if you re - start, he recorded a good level.

    4. all supported, he constantly re-boots.

    Help, please.

This time, take it to Apple and pay what it costs.  Water damage to a phone apparently can leave dry on minerals on the contacts so that a simple drying will not work unless your technician who knows really what to do. the only problem is that if the phone was opened by a third party, that apple may bother on considering watch.

  • Indicator 6 water damage iPhone blushed

my iPhone 6a is accidentally fell in the toilet yesterday and my pocket. I had placed my phone in a sealed plastic bag with rice and Silicon gel. However, I also discovered that the water damage indicator has become red/pink. What should I do? Should I still wait to load my phone a few days later?

    Betty,

as far as I know that the water damage indicator will stay red in the future. It does not show that your phone is still wet, but the phone was in contact with the water.

If you have kept your iPhone in the bag plastic with rice and Silicon gel for a few days, you can try if it works always. But perhaps the water already destroyed.

If this does not at all or behaving strangely, you must go to an Apple Store.

  • How to back up data from the iphone water damage over 6 sec.

I dropped my iphone more than 6 s in sea water, and it seems capable of lighting (which shows a black screen). I'm trying to back up data. When I connect the iphone with the computer, the following prompt box appears on itunes. Now I'm confused. Could someone answer my questions please?

    1. This means that my iphone is still able to turn it on?

    2. that means that only the screen is broken and the motherboard still work?

    3. How can I save the data without entering the password by using the touch screen?

    Thank you very much.

This means you should STOP PUTTING ELECTRICITY through your phone untreated, ack!

Your phone has a display problem, but yes - it lights up.
Perhaps your problem is just a bad screen (which is unfortunately a part of $250 to a 6 sec more now).  Apple cannot help you with other water damage that offers to sell you an iPhone refurbished for $349.

But most likely, your problem is also on the logic board - usually fixable.

There is no way around the need for touch operation and the image on the phone to access the data.

In order to access the data on the phone, you need your advice to hold the power and start, (it does) you need of your screen image lines, and you need to contact work.  Ideally, you would also have your backlight lines works as well.

Most of the phones in this condition have a pretty good shot in data recovery in this situation - touch, and line of the image problems are usually solvable if your phone can be detected by iTunes.   It is certainly not DIY work, this is a troubleshooting open-ended the microsoldering and level of card issues.

Your only option for recovering data would be to find a good microsolderer experienced in data recovery.

I recommend to replace any phone which has seen water, corrosion on the Board always weakens solder everywhere, so the phone is likely to have a shorter duration of life more problematic.

Note: It may be possible to cancel your option for the swap of OOW $349 at Apple if you continue recovering data at the level of Council - although I've never seen this happen.

  • to the 6s iphone water damage more

My iphone has been inundated by sea water for about 3 seconds. I have breath-sec, put in the rice, but it won't always turn.

However, I havn't opened the device on mine. In this case, can what support I get from Apple? I heard someone who has encountered the same problem paid about $300 and got a refurbished Apple iphone.  I understand that the liquidated damages are not covered by the warranty, but can I pay $329 for a warranty and get a new iphone more than 6 s?

In addition, is anyway to save the data when the iphone can not turn on?

You are right that the water damage is not covered by warranty. If you have Apple Care Plus, then it is covered as one of your accidental franchisees. If you don't have Apple Care Plus, then it would be a one off replacement under warranty. Depending on your location for the cost, it's the cost in the U.S., $329. See this link, and you can translate to your location if necessary. http://www.Apple.com/support/iPhone/repair/other/

If you cannot turn on the unit, then the only data you have are your last backup.
