    Hey old77mountainman

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a set of vista recovery disc

they do it for a nominal cost

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard disk to reinstall vista back to factory standards

you normally start the recovery at startup process by pressing F10 or F11 etc.

Ask them of the correct key sequence

Hello tomshab1, the preferences will be moved in a modal dialog box in a tab in the future provide - you're on the beta version of firefox and see a series of tests of the in-content-Pref.
at present, it is still possible go back to the old interface of going to Subject: config browser.preferences.inContent by switching to false, but in the long run I guess only the new UI preferences will support...

  • I want to use Windows Easy Transfer XP to my data, but the software said "computers are old computer."

I want to use Windows Easy Transfer XP to my data, but the software said that "the two computers are old computer", how do I chanage the parameter in the new computer? In addition, two computers are running in Windows XP system, thank you.

Thanks for answer you, it is really useful.

    But I have another question:
Why Windows Easy Transfer is still a Windows XP version?

    Thank you.

Because Windows Easy Transfer is designed to transfer data FROM a Windows XP computer TO Windows 7 (or Vista) computer.

For example, you install Windows Easy Transfer on the computer Windows XP, but the output (if it is stored on external media or transmitted over a network connection or cable Easy Transfer) is used by the Vista or Windows 7 computer.

    The upgrade to Windows XP?

Please read these instructions carefully and completely before you begin installing Windows 7: there are important steps that you must follow to upgrade your PC from Windows XP to Windows 7 in order to preserve your files and settings.

Before you begin, you'll need to backup all your data to an external storage device, and you will need all the installation discs for the programs that you want to keep. Please make sure that you have an external hard drive (see details below).

More detailed instructions are available at windows.microsoft.com/upgrade-windows-xp. Here are the basic steps.

    1. start Windows Upgrade Advisor (windows.microsoft.com/upgradeadvisor) to see if there are known issues that may affect the installation and the question of whether you should install the version of 32 or 64 bit Windows 7.

2 back up your files and settings on an external hard drive using Windows Easy Transfer (windows.microsoft.com/windows-easy-transfer). If you do not have an external hard drive, you will not be able to use Windows Easy Transfer. Alternatively, you can copy the files you want to keep on a USB stick, CD or DVD.

    3. you will need to manually reinstall your programs, such as Microsoft Office, after I installed Windows 7. Gather the installation for your programs and all partner/license product key discs. You may be able to download programs from the Internet. For example, Windows Live Messenger can be installed from the download.live.com/messenger.

    4. Insert the Windows 7 DVD in your PC. When asked "which type of installation you want. Click on "Custom (advanced)."

    5. when Windows 7 is installed, use Windows Easy Transfer to restore your files and settings.

If you are not comfortable Windows 7 installation, check with a local retail or the services of the PC company store to see if they offer upgrade services.

replacement computers. How can I keep all of my old emails. I have hundreds of emails in the sent folder and hundreds in my folder of emails saved on my old computer (windows live mail 2011) but when I open windows live mail 2012 on my new computer all the folders are empty. I signed the same account on both computers.

old computer windows live mail 2011 new computer windows live mail 2012 it is the problem

It is relatively simple as you use and that you want to use WLM.

You will need to copy a folder from where it is (the old installation) to another place where you know it will be (for example on your desktop)

The folder is c:\users\your user name\app data (if it is not there, see the note below) \local\microsoft\

At that point you will see a folder named oddly enough "windows live mail" copy on your desktop

If you don't see the app data because it is invisible atm.  To make it visible, you need to go to your control panel > folder options > view > change to hidden folders (see figure)

Once you have mail backed up on your desktop (or where ever) drag the folder from the desktop to the location for the new WLM (once again we C;-... just like above).  Just make sure that WLM does not run in time.  What wont be imported, it of passwords and rules.

Accounts and data should now be in the new WLM when you open it.

  • can I easily get off Windows 8 back in Windows 7?

I hate 8 can easily downgrade from Windows 8 back in Windows 7?

Oh my god! Same thing here! I bought my PC in January of my campus bookstore and because they are a dealer, they can repay or allow me to return it! What horror! So I contacted HP and they said the same thing! So now I'm out $700! I had more problems with this 8 unwanted windows then when I had the virus in my old computer. I AM openminded to ideas and things, but overall it was ridiculous. It may be ideal for touch screen computers, but I'm not anyone and isn't a touch screen. So bottom line, IT SUCKS. I want to Windows 7 back. Whenever I have my slider, it opens the start menu dang and random junk just flys around. Crashes all the time, it's ridiculous! I want to WINDOWS 7 BACK!

  • Satellite P200 - 17 c - I want to install Windows 7 64 bit

    Hello

I use Toshiba P200 - 17 c (PSPB6E) and were broadcast on the public beta of Windows 7 32 bit because it had been released a few months earlier, but I am surely informed Windows 7 64 bit is the way to go, so I would like to give it a try when the RC was released on 5 May. I have some questions I want to answer it please:

    1. the "spec" for my laptop indicates that it supports the Intel 64-bit architecture, but that the BIOS must also support 64-bit. Can someone tell me if my P200 will support and run Windows 7 RC 64 bit?

    2. my current BIOS version is v2.50 for 32-bit and the download page was also a v2.50 for 64 bit, does that mean if I want to use Windows 7 RC 64 bit, I need to Flash my BIOS using thev2.50 BIOS 64-bit?

    3. If the answer to Q2 is Yes and I flashed my BIOS using the d/l 64-bit, do I need to re - flash BIOS 32 bit if I want to go back to using any 32 bit OS?

    4. If the answer to Q3 is Yes, then I would have thought that Toshiba would have created a BIOS that would support 32-bit and 64-bit at the same time.

    Regrads

    Dave

    > As mentioned above, I am using Windows 7 32 bit and if I had to install Windows 7 RC 64 bit, would I need to update my BIOS with BIOS of 64-bit while I use a 32 bit OS and then install the 64 bit OS, or I install the OS 64-bit with my current 32-bit BIOS and then update once the 64 bit OS is installed?
    > (My personal feelings are that I had to upgrade from 32-bit to 64-bit BIOS while I use Windows 7 32 bits and then immediately to install Windows 7 64 bit)?

If you want to update the BIOS, then you must first switch to the OS preinstalled Toshiba!
I doubt that the BIOS update has been tested with Windows 7 at the moment and in my opinion, there is a high risk that something went wrong during the BIOS update process!

I have an old conpac which has windows 98 on it.  How much would it cost to upgradt it for Windows7?

    Three points:

    1. it is not possible to upgrade from Windows 98 to Windows 7. The only way to get Windows 7 is to do a clean install.

    2. your old Compaq is almost certainly * way * low power for Windows 7. Windows 7 installs probably not at all and it if does, it runs very slowly. I recommend strongy * against * trying to do this. If you want to run Windows 7, you need a new computer.

    3. If you want to do this, you will need to purchase a full copy of Windows 7. How much it costs depends on which edition you buy (Home Premium, professional or ultimate edition) and where you buyoit. Go to web sites like newegg.com and check prices.

  • I have windows xp on my computer but I forgot his password. Now, I want to install windows 7.

I have windows xp on my computer but I forgot the password of my computer. I want to install windows 7. My computer doesn't have an internet conncetion as this can't be updated. I have not created a password reset disk. I want to directly install Windows 7 using a disc of windows 7 installation without having to reinstall windows xp first. How can I do?

If you have forgotten your password we couldn't help you get it back, but if you want you could do fresh install of Windows 7 and the format of your driver and all your data would be lost. You just insert the Windows 7 DVD and start with it and follow the instructions. I suggest you take a look at:
