Web page using the browser of centering

Hello

I created my web page for screen resolution 800 x 600.

When a spectator to my Web page put their screen at a higher resolution, say 1152 x 864, my web page moves to the left side of the screen, leaving a blank space on the right.

How can I get my web page to stay in the centre, i.e. the middle of the screen, when a higher resolution is used by the Viewer. I noticed that microsoft.com has achieved this when my resolution is greater than 800 x 600.

Thanks for any help.

WebTime

Use a table that is set to the Center to align for the site?

  • Question on the Web page in the browser of centering

    Hello

    My page is left justified right now.

    I have everything inside a div called container. I have a CSS rule as well. What I have to add to the CSS rule to make the center of the page in the browser? Thank you.

    < div class = "container" > stuff < / div >

    . Container {}

    background-image: url(images/HOME-PAGE-BOAT.jpg);

    background-repeat: no-repeat;

    background-position: top center;

    height: 900px;

    Width: 1260px;

    }

    For reference, auto margin: 0; is the abbreviation of

    margin -top: 0;

    margin -right: auto;

    thebottommargin: 0;

    margin -left: auto;

    Not very well why he pushed it to the right.

    EDIT: / / Re: background image. I would put the image on theortag that will not have this problem. This link might offer some advice for a possible solution.

  • Impossible to center the Web page in the browser window!

    Hello! I have searched and tried almost everything to Center my Web page in the browser window, but it does not work!

    This is the page: www.claudechalhoub.com. I want that page is centered regardless of the size of browser window!

    I have included the following code in my html code:

    < style type = "text/css" >

    {body
    text-align: center; / * For the IE6.
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    min-width: 770px;
    background-image: url(pictures/lastimage.jpg);
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    background-color: #000;
    do-family: "Palatino Linotype", "Book Antiqua", Palatino, serif;
    color: #FFF;
    make-style: normal;
    }
    {#wrapper}
    Width: 770px;
    Auto margin: 0;
    text-align: left;
    }
    ...
    < / style >

    And then I realized:

    < body >

    < div id = 'wrapper' >
    < div id = "ap_text" > "the beauty of the music of Claude Chalhoub, is that it is not 'new' at all. This sounds familiar, even if you have never listened to music Arabic (or classical music) at all. As if it had always been there. It is as natural as breathing. "And it's this great art is all about - what makes the difficult seem easy." < / div >

    ...

    < / div > <! - close the tag div wrapper - >

    < / body >

    I don't know what the problem of not working!

    Any guidance?

    Your background image for the "body" tag contains the image that you used in it also. It's a bad habit. Just use a background image wide 5px and use it in your body background tag. Repeat with horizontally to fill your screen.

    Put your photo in a DIV inside the 'wrapper' div position it accordingly.

    In addition, you used an "absolute" on all items positioning on your website. Their position relative to the tag parent for best results.

  • leave the animation to a new web page (using the file .oam Edge in MUSE)

    Hello

    Ok. Here's the situation. I have a Web page that was made in MUSE, on this page, there is a click of the mouse button that starts an animation on board.

    Once the animation is completed, I want a (automatic) action that displays a new Web page on the same website.

    I tried implementing a "timeline stop" action on the main stage

    window.open ("http://homie0106.businesscatalyst.com/menu-1.html");

    No dice. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

    Bob

    I have it.  The method I posted worked there... once I corrected my mistake of hyperlinking.

  • Adding to my last question... To keep a background image in the center of the Web page when the browser is shrun

    How do do that?  What is the CSS that makes this work?

    Centers of the background, even when the browser window is smaller or the screen resolution is less, but the content remains stationary in the center of the page: www.signatureweddingsbyjenna.ca

    Hello Jules

    I think that Nancy replied to your question in the other thread.

    I have the site you give as an example, this is the CSS that applies to this image:

    {body
    background - image: URL("page_images/background.jpg");
    bottom-top position: center;
    background-repeat: repeat no.;

    }
    Then of course, it is applied as the context in which theelement, it is placed in the Center and on it and it does not repeat itself.  It is what keeps the central image on the page.  Also helps is that the page is a centered layout.  In the example page that you gave, they have this:
    #page, closure-blocks # {}
    margin-left: auto;
    margin-right: auto;
    Width: 1000px;

    }

    Set the width is important and defining the left/right margin as it means that the browser will allocate the rest of the available space at each margin evently between the two, or put content in the middle.  The only other thing you do is to set the content of the site to the center using
    text-align: center
    It is exlpained herefully.  The only other thing the site has done is put a bit of image information in another element to make it appear that the background image loops in the content.

  • For the last week, I had problems on the Web pages in the browser look at a box itself (the box that actually shows the site), I can't click on anything anyone in the top thumb or inch - and a quarter. What does this, and how can this be repaired?

    This applies to all links and anything in this field unless it falls below, then I can click on it. The only thing that seems to get around it, is on a bar at the top of a Web search, I can click and type, but there is no text cursor.

    This problem occurs even when I scroll down, the same area of a Web site can be clicked, because of this problem.

    This does not affect the toolbars, bookmarks, etc..

    Recently, the Yahoo toolbar and the extension of Babylon have been reported because of this problem. They appear to overlap invisibly on the top of the display of the web page. You have both installed, uninstall or disable them / it or see if an update is available that solves the problem.

    If this answer solved your problem, please click 'Solved It' next to this response when connected to the forum.

  • opening locally stored Web page in the browser?

    Hello

    Sorry if this is a stupid question - but I can't find a solution anywhere:

    Is it possible to open an html page that is stored on the BlackBerry (Bold in my case) in the browser?

    I tried to type file://Device%20Memory/home/user/documents/myFile.html but it gives me an error ('rendering of the page problem')

    I also tried to open it from the file browser (explores) in the media, but which opens in some Preview app or what doesn't seem to have the same CSS and JavaScript support that the current browser.

    Does anyone know another way?

    After researching on Google this problem somewhat I think you might have to use 'store' instead of 'Device % 20Memory' to make it work. Try file:///store/home/whatever.

  • I can't scroll to the top on any web page, using the right scroll bar. How can I fix this problem?

    This problem only occurs when using Firefox. Explorer works very well.

    You can have an add-on or plugin that. Disable them one by one and see if you can find the culprit. Or disable everything at a time using Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode and see if the modules are causing the problem.

  • How to automatically center the page in the browser window

    Somewhere along the way, I remember coming across a very simple way to automatically focus your web pages in the browser.  Could someone remind me how it's done.  I think it's an order in one step among the toolbars, located along the upper part of Dreamweaver, but I looked through them and can't find it.  I also tried application center alignment my wrapper div that holds all my content, but who did not do.

    Thank you.

    {#wrapper}
    background: #AEADB2;
    padding: 0px;
    height: 660px;
    Width: 960px;
    position: absolute;
    z-index: 2;
    Auto margin: 0;
    border-style: none;
    Top: 0px;
    text-align: left;
    }

    Thanks again for your help.

    I didn't know you were in the position: absolute on the wrapper div - that is why it is always best to ask for a link - which I did not in this case :-)

    position: absolute;

    For the wrapper div, change this:

    position: relative;

    and it must be centered - he did when I edited the css in Firefox :-)
