Web site says 8.0.1 available, but my paycheck update v8.0.0 says that Firefox is updated

I see on the web site of Mozilla Firefox 8.0.1 is available on the output channel, however, when I check with v8.0.0 updates that Firefox says it is up-to-date. I tried with my user and administrator accounts.

I also tried the 'solution' described in the MozillaZine Knowledge Base (delete files in the folder % LOCALAPPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates). This has worked in the past, but does not work this time.

The automatic update has been unreliable for centuries. That's under investigation? Y at - it once and for all solution?

As a Windows user,.

  • you need not to update, unless you have if crash problems caused by an older version of Roboform (plenty of answers to questions on this issue in this forum resolved).
  • Firefox 8.0.1 is no problem of security; only, it addresses issues of crash in 2 cases.
  • Shown above: only Mac users get the update of idle/8.0 to 8.0.1 patch manual.
    • This means that only Mac users will have updated with the help > about Firefox > check updates
  • For now, the only way for users other than Mac update, is to download the full installer and install on top of Firefox 8.0.
  • Please review the information I posted.
