  My Satellite A215-S7444 CPU fan stopped working which causes my CPU become very hot.

  After 5 minutes of idle my laptop turns off which makes it almost useless to my laptop.
  After reading a few forums, I decided to disassemble my laptop to check that there is no dust or debris obstructing the fan.
  However, I got so far as to take off the keyboard because I didn't know how to take off the high black/silver (please link to image).

  Could someone please help me with this problem, I use on a daily basis of the laptop and it is important for my studies.

  My problem is that if I'm on the computer after about an hour or two the computer just stops.
  I already tried to change the power settings management that worked for awhile, but my laptop still turns off after a while.

  I'm quite sure that your laptop stops automatically due to the temperature inside the laptop.
  It of a simply overheating issue that could be caused by clogged cooling grids.

  From time to time it s a good idea to clean the fans. Especially dust prevents the cooling modules works correctly, and therefore the temperature rises.

  I made good experiences with the jet of compressed air. These sprays can be purchased from dealers of computer/laptop.

  Hi all

  I noticed that other people have posted messages asking for help on this subject. I have problems in the webcam integrated on my laptop model Satellite A200. There are no icons in what concerns this camera and I'm puzzled because the manual doesn't even mention the camera.

  There is no link in the menu all startup programs. I tried the solution suggested in the forum to add this as a USB but the phone said that there was a mistake. I'm not the person more computer in the world and I would be grateful if someone wants to be good enough to post a step by step guide on how to get this on camera. It seems to be a common problem for those of us with the A200 so it would be great if someone could help.

  Helsfeas if you use the pre-installed Windows Vista you will be able to find the installer for your webcam chicony under the C: don't / drivers directory Toshiba which must be in your hard drive. If you run the installation program you will get an icon in your bar of tasks and on your left, follow a pop up window that can turn on your camera and put effects on it.

  If you have downgraded to WinXp please tell me if I can send you on the program, as I recorded it before the mine downgrading to XP.

  I just installed Windows 7 Professional in my laptop Toshiba Satellite L300D-11V.
  Everything is reported as working in the Device Manager, but the driver of the webcam Chicony does not start.

  Windows automatically installs the drivers, v.6.1.7600.16385 dated 06/21/2006, but the unit does not start with them.
  Windows insists on the fact that these drivers are the most appropriate for a Chicony webcam.

  Download from Toshiba site has a VISTA, not Windows 7 drivers, v.1.7.175.0123 driver, but the unit does not start with them.
  Is that what the camera is simply not compatible with Windows 7 and I have to use an external USB webcam?

  What's even stranger, is that now I have installed Skype webcam works in Skype... ??
  The webcam also works in Windows Live Messenger... ??

  I think you are on the external USB webcam and not the internal webcam that is included in some series of laptops.

  It seems that similar problems appear on laptops from different manufacturers that use the Chicony webcam.
  Everything looks like the chicony Vista software is not 100% compatible with MSN, yahoo Messenger, Skype etc programs.

  If you use Windows Live Messenger 2009, there are two main webcam / video configuration menus.

  a. start Windows Live Messenger and sign in.

  b. before connecting to anyone, open the menu "Tools" then click on "Configuration video / Audio»

  c. perform the tests and click on 'next' and confirm the webcam of video display, and then click "Finish."

  d. before connecting to anyone, open the menu 'Tools' and then click 'Options '.

  e. Select "Staff" and put a check mark next to "Webcam - enable others to see that I have a webcam".

  f. click 'Apply' and then click 'Ok '.

  g. sign out and EXIT Windows Live Messenger completely to save the new settings.

  I have a Satellite A215-S7444 originally shipped with Vista 32 bit, I have since made a custom installation of Se7en 64-bit. There is a problem of coming put fashion 'sleep' audio device disappears. OK, so there is an update of the Bios for my model that is supposed to fix this problem.

  If I remember well in the forums someone had posted "to not start from inside windows or u might completely bork your system." I have dl. The Bios updated and created a "bootable CD" according to the instructions using windows disc image burner, but as far as I went.

  I would therefore like to some someone to write instructions step by step for me on how SUCCESSFULLY Flash my Bios. As much, I know you must press F12 during startup, and then select the "Startup" tab, and then select Boot from disc. "Then you need to select"Save and Exit with changes"or something of the sort. And then restart. Is this correct or am I missing a step? I know that there is a SINGLE shot that if I want to get it's okay. Has anyone else successfully flashed the Bios?

  I agree with the user above. Make sure that you have downloaded the correct BIOS update. Otherwise you may destroy the ROM module

  If you update the BIOS from a bootable floppy, you don t have the stress with running programs. Just start the update and don t stop the laptop during this procedure and hope that everything will work! ;)

  My friend has a portable Satellite L305D-S5893 that he had bought Friday.

  * Install the Service Pack 1 of Vista, or Vista Hotfix KB934374: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934374 (KB934374 is included in SP1)
  * Update your e-mail software (MSN/Yahoo Messenger, etc...)
  * If you have another program that can use the webcam (e.g. Skype), make sure that they are completely closed and not, sitting in the system tray.
  * Try to close the bar Assistant camera on the left side of the office.
  * To stop the Camera Assistant software from running at startup, run Regedit and delete HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "Camera Assistant Software".
