went from a secure connection to a non-secure connection

att dsl modem to the router (linksys) wifi is not secure. It was fixed before. How did get unsecured?

Hello Panther,

Try the steps below and check if they help to resolve the issue.

Step 1

Open your browser and type the IP address of the router in the address field. This address appears in the manual of your router. If you can't find your manual, try "192.168.0.1" or "192.168.1.1", which are commonly used for routers.

Step 2

Enter your credentials to access the administrative utility. The default user name and the password are listed in the manual of the router. However, "admin" is commonly used for the username and "admin", "password" or a blank field is commonly used for the password.

Step 3

Click 'Wireless Settings' in the administrative field. These can be found at the top or in a menu on the left. If you have a button that says "Manual Wireless Network Setup", click it. Not all router software will have this button. Instead, some may immediately bring the configuration page.

Step 4

Find a checkbox or a drop down menu security. If you find a drop down menu, select 'None' or 'no '. If you see a check box to enable encryption, uncheck the box. Every router is slightly different; If you have trouble, please consult the manual of your router.

Step 5

Click 'Save Settings' to make your network unsecured wireless.

Hope the helps of information provided.
