What cd/dvd burner is compatible

Hi, I recently bought the HP p6540y PC, windows 7 64 bit installed. I would get an extra cd/dvd burner drive for expansion tray.  Any suggestions on a good burner compatible?  Any help is appreciated!

These articles will help you in installation.  It is a task of 20 minutes approximately. You will need a reader of CD/DVD 5.25 "sata and sata data cable. Look inside your PC and see how the existing CD/DVD drive is connected and powered.  Looking for a replacement power supply connector.

Plextor, Samsung, LG and LiteOn are good brands.  Blu - ray players are a little more expensive and Blu - ray burners cost even more.

www.Newegg.com has many models.

    Hello

We are all here are users of Toshiba laptops and as you probably don t know this is a user forum. :) so maybe not really ;) experts

Like you probably n t know every CD/DVD drive doesn t takes care of all the s possible CD or DVD from different manufacturers.

  • What dvd burner is compatible with Tecra A2

    Hello

I want to know what dvd burners are compatible with my tecra A2 because I bought a dvd burner and does not work with the tecra A2 (IDE1 #error).
There is nothing about it in the manual.

    Can you help me?
    Thank you.

This #error IDE1 appears because of the evil master\slave\c-salt settings.
All Toshiba slim line discs works in cable (CSEL) default selection mode. In other words, the player receives a signal from the laptop it say if it needs to act as a master or a slave device on the IDE channel.

Some portable computers on the market do not work according to this specification, but use the way inverted CSEL signal to save a bit of power electric. If you are installing a drive running in standard CSEL mode in such a laptop, the inverted signal will require to work evil master/slave mode giving the reader the logical address as the hard drive installed on the same IDE channel. Accordingly, the optical drive, HARD drive or both cannot be detected by the BIOS and is not usable. Some laptops may display an error message at the start, for example 'IDE #1 error"or similar.

In some user manuals, you can find information about compatible CD/DVD players.
    Did you check that?

If you find any details on a compatible player then contact ASP in your country for info. You can also order such driver of these guys here.

    Good luck

  • Equium L20-198: what DVD burner are compatible

    Hello.

The combi CD / DVD writer on my laptop decided to give up the ghost.
In my view, there is a good choice of burners 'slimline' designed for portable computers out there, but I was warned that not all burners are compatible with all PC.

Apart from one obvious Mat * like one already installed, someone could you please recommend or advise the slimline burners will be compatible with Toshiba laptops, or better yet my model in general or at least advise what brands are known to be incompatible with computers laptop toshiba.

I would be extremely grateful for any help you could give. :)

    Thank you very much
    Steve.

You are right. Not all CD/DVD drive are compatible due to different master/slave/c-salt settings.

But I ve discovered DVD Super Multi Pinan could be compatible:

    -MATSU * A (UJ-841BTQ-A)
    -HLDS (GSA-4082N. ATAKN0)
    -Pioneer (DVR-K16TBA)
    -TEAC (DV-W28EA)

  • What external DVD burner would work with Toshiba LX830?

Try connecting an external DVD burner for Toshiba LX830 via USB.
Nothing won't work - I've tried 3 writers and different software.

Is it important that all writers are USB 2.0 and the 830 is USB 3.0?
The best I have is 3%, then it's just sitting there.

Can anyone recommend an external recorder that will work with the 830?

    Hello

Have you tried to connect this external hard drive to CD/DVD to all available USB ports?

As far as I know the Toshiba LX830 all in a computer supports 6 USB ports and two USB ports support high-speed USB 3.0 standard.

So, even if the external USB ODD (optical disc) would not support USB 3.0, it should work in 4 other ports USB 2.0

  • Satellite Pro M30: What DVD burner is compatible?

Can someone point me in the direction of a substitute for the current drive - I really don't want an external, but a replacement for one that is already there. Product ID and where to buy would be really nice.

    Thank you

My internal superdrive drive just died, a kind of inner part rattling... sounded like a trombone bouncing around. Has to be replaced. • Satellite A80-131: what CD/DVD player is compatible

    Hello

I need to buy a new DVD - ROM drive because my old is bad!
    I have a toshiba Satellite A80-131 with mati dvd - rom * a UJ - 831S.
I would buy another drive: toshiba, samsung, pioneer the suport of mati because * a (panasonic) is not very good. But what model is compatible with the old drive UJ - 831S?
Support does not provide this information to me.

I have a toshiba HD MK4025-GAS and I want to do an upgrade, but the
    model PA3406U - 1 HA 0 (100 GB 5400 MHz) is very expensive.
    Model MK is cheap.
But that model MK I buy with 100 or 120 GB?

    HI Ronai,

Any optical drive slim form factor fits physically to your laptop, but you'll hjave to make sure that you get with the correct connectivity. It will be either master or slave (and sometimes C/salt). This setting is normally carried out by the manufactrer reader and it is not easy to change later unlike the larger disks used in PC where you can return some small switches to change the setting.

To be sure, you can ask your local authorized Toshiba Service partner which models are fully compatible.

In regards to your hard drive, you can choose any hard drive manufacturer (the MK designation indicates a Toshiba drive) but I don't know if 100 GB is greater that the BIOS will allow you. I know that 80 GB working fine (I use a Fujitsu 80 GB HDD in my SA30) but I've never tried a higher capacity drive.

You may also like to consider a faster rotation speed. GAS from Toshiba records with the suffix are usually 4200 RPM, while those with a GAX suffix are quicker to 5400 RPM. MK8025-GAX is a good option.

    Kind regards

We know the internal CD drive for this laptop model.
I know its old & outdated but I just use it in my Studio to execute TURBOCNC to my milling machine.

    TIA.

    Wow. It's really an oldie!

To be honest, I don't think that someone here in the forum knows exactly what readers are compatible with this laptop.
"I think that this series is older than some users here in the forum). Just kidding ;)

I think you last resort might be the local ASP. Maybe they have a few old documents and Satellite 220CS parts lists.

I finger keep he's crossed for you.

  • What CD/DVD drive is compatible with Satellite 1400-103

    Hello

I've been looking for A replacement Dvd Rom for my Toshiba Satellite 1400-103 and I can't find one.
Because she was so old so I was wondering if there is some other Dvd Compatible disks that I can buy for my laptop?

    Thank you

    -Toshiba SD-R2102
    -Matsu * a UJDA720 *.
    -TEAC DW-28TH *.
    -Toshiba SD-C2502 *.

  • What CD/DVD drive is compatible with the Satellite A10 S103

I use the laptop Toshiba Satellite A10 S103 and I am about to replace the CD/DVD-ROM drive of origin by a new who can also write CDs and DVDs.

However, I got a notice, that after the installation of the new DVD to drive the "IDE #1 error" message may appear. According to my knowledge, this error can be avoided by replacing the old disk with a new one which requires the same Primary/Secondary Master/Slave/cable select settings like old.

Can you recommend a drive of DVD - RW which could replace the old DVD - ROM drive and would work without any additional adjustment of HW?
The new DVD - RW drive should be similar to know
    [http://www.sonynec-optiarc.de/en/exhibits/slim-line-drives/ad-7540a.html].

However, I was not able to decide that if this device will be or does not work in my computer that I don't know the parameters of the original DVD.

My original Toshiba DVD drive information as follows:
    ' 1. ' "model SD-C2612
    2 "ROM worm." 1315
    3 'serial No.' 394N002659
    ' 4. ' 302 ' version number.

The computer is already out of warranty

    Thank you.

You are right. FDI #1 error is displayed because the BIOS doesn't recognize the new internal CD/DVD drive because of the wrong master/slave/c-salt settings.
Usually, these settings are fixed and cannot be changed on the external sides with another position of the rider.
The firmware controls the notebooks internal parameters ODD.
The use of ratings taken in charge and compatible is so very important.

Sorry, but I didn t find details of compatible CD/DVD players.
Did you look in the user manual of your laptop series?

In my manual, I found some info on my laptop-compatible players.
So maybe you are a lucky man and your owner's manual will provide useful information.

  • DVD burner Burns suddenly only 1.5 x

TS-H653G SATA 16 X burner (after 6 months use) suddenly only Burns 1.5 x... Last update of Windows could cause it?  Poster channels IDE DMA (not PIO) Device Manager - although it's SATA device so important?  It happened a year ago with a different burner, so I replaced it with the current.  Using XP Pro SP3 Dell Inspiron 530-SATA HD & optical drive.  A DVD burned 1.5 x checks and everything is readable, then it's just a matter of burning rate.

    Hello

    1. what CD/DVD burning software you use? Do you use Windows Media Player to burn the CD?
    2. If so, what version of WIndows Media Player do you use?

If you use Windows Media Player to burn the CD, refer to the article below and check.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/change-settings-for-burning-a-CD-or-DVD-in-Windows-Media-Player

If you have the 3 rd party software, you need to make changes in the settings of the software.

    I hope this helps.

You need a compatible because different master/slave/c-salt settings.
I m not very well what drives could be supported, but in my user manual which was preinstalled on my laptop (unfortunately not P200) I could find a list of compatible drives. Maybe your manual contains a similar list

But if you won't find details of compatible media in you manual user then you may contact the service provider allowed in your country and could order these ODD.
