• Cooling fan does not work on Satellite Pro A300

  I was asked by a friend to repair their Satellite Pro A300, because their CPU cooling fan had stopped working even during the start of the POST and the laptop could overheat and shutdown. So I thought it might one of three things:
  # Fan is obstructed by dust or dirt
  # Rolling fan failed
  # Fan power cable was loose

  So I disassembled the laptop and cleaned the fan/radiator with compressed air and check the connection of the supply, which was solid, but this does not solve the problem, so I replaced the fan and the heatsink with another that I knew worked from the same model laptop that had a motherboard fault due to the bug of password to start random bios (out of warranty) but still no joy.

  I'm starting to believe that the fan was perfectly fine rather motherboards temperature of the processor or the sensors that control the activation of the fan has failed.
  Am I correct in thinking that it is essentially, irreparable without specialized tools and my friend will be content themselves to turn the system off each hourish or is there something else I forget?

  I m not a technician, but for me, looks like the fan connector is working properly if you already replaced the fan and therefore, it would be necessary to replace the motherboard

  That s all I can say about it having a look for second mainboard or laptop where you can get a motherboard cheap. Maybe it works. :)

  I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A300 PSAG9E, which was just bought recently. However, I noticed that the DVD - RW drive (or not) sometimes, work at the start of the laptop. I have no idea why this inconsistency occurs!

  As you can see there are many different laptops with hardware components completely different models

  My keys (5 buttons) are useless!

  There are several questions and perhaps the best solution for you is to install the new OS by using recovery image. I know, it's more radical but the simplest method. After 30 minutes, you must again factory settings and everything will work correctly.
  I'm sure that everything worked fine at first.

  If you want to fix this only solution is to reinstall the value-added driver package and display, and hope that this will help.

  By the way: this number XYZ is not so important. Part number of your machine is important. It is PSAG1E for your A300 and the part number is important for the identification of model and correct drivers download.

  Not quite sure, why some of your FN buttons stopped working, but the fact is that utility support memory card Flash controls the FN keys and you should try to restart Flash cards first.

  Select all programs-> Toshiba-> Flash cards, and then restart the tool.

  Also go to Control Panel - tools and performance Information - adjust Visual effects

  Here the function "Use Visual styles on windows and buttons" option on the bottom must be enabled to allow the Flashcards software work

  When you get the message if another program uses always the camera.

  So, try to disable the webcam software and other e-mail programs in msconfig.
  Restart the laptop and if you want to use the webcam software you need to start the first webcam software.

• Satellite Pro A300-1 system restore has 8 Vista works not

  I wanted to use the system restore because of the attempt to reconfigure the administrator rights, its somehow deleted all my shortcuts on my menu and messed with a few things.

  However, when I try to use the system restore (I tried to use it in safemode, via cmd promp, bunch together and normal), but all seem to keep hanging in the same green page where you can read something in the sense of "system is initializing restore etc" (spend 45 minutes on this page until I get fed up and shut down the computer). I tried to use different restore points the same thing happens. He loves his work not at all.

  You mean the Vista tool, which is located in (Start button-> all programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> system restore) does not work and you cannot set back the Vista until the early time?

  Well, usually there's not much to do to restore the operating system to start time the point you have to play the System Restore tool and choose the restore point. Then everything should run automatically.
  If this doesn t work while something is messed up as you said in your ad above somehow deleted all your shortcuts in my menu and messed with a few things possibly operating system was messed in.

  Try to clean the operating system by using the freeware CCLeaner for example. I also use it. It s great. Repair and clean the operating system and check if it is possible to use the system again restore tool.

  I do not use this system for games or anything like that, for most 2007 Office, web browsing, media and programs such as Photoshop and Dreamweaver. Nothing too high end.

  One of the things that I noticed also is the max for my system Ram is 8 GB and most of the others are only 4 GB. I will not use 64-bit windows, so it is not serious anyway.

  Mainly, I would like to know if it is worth worrying about the FSB. I get how BSF works and what it does, I'm not sure if I need to worry about this.

  Any advice or suggestions are welcome.

  In your case, the speed of the FSB is not really important if you want to use your laptop only for Office 2007, web browsing or Web design.
  The higher FSB is useful if you want to use the memory high performance with higher speed.
  For example; you have bus 533 Mhz front and memory 800 MHz that was wrong with 800 Mhz memory modules because the lower FSB would slow the speed of the memory modules.

  But as I said a higher FSB is not really important if you don t use the laptop for high end games.

  I have a Satellite Pro A300 PSAGDA 2000R

  It had Windows Vista installed when I got it, but after a while, had to reformat, so I did, (I want to reformat my computer every 6-12 months on average), it came only with XP disks even if he got a serial number for Vista on the underside of the laptop so I installed XP. That was about 2-3 reformats there now.

  However, so that finding drivers I've seen mention of a hidden partition to reinstall Vista (which I hope it is 64-bit) and tried to do this several times but unfortunately it does not work, I guess that maybe what XP installation I can accidentally deleted or something? (Thought they had in fact on some solid state memory which could not be written more or something.)

  * Is there a way I can access it, take another that won't cost a ridiculous amount (for example download) or a nice person enough to create an image to download on a site or something that I can download file sharing? *

  I have European A300 and I believe that the principle on the rest of the same models.
  A300 was offered with Vista preinstalled but without recovery disc Vista. Image that contains the operating system, drivers, tools and utilities for recovery has been saved on the HARD drive and with book factory owner was able to begin the installation of HARD drive recovery. It works with the factory only settings.

  With preinstalled Toshiba laptop recovery disk creator owners have been able to create the recovery disk that can be used if the disk HARD recovery doesn't work anymore.
  If you don t have access to this image saved on HARD drive recovery, you must use the recovery disc. If you don t have the disc that you have a problem. Recovery image can not be downloaded. All you can download are the unique rivers, tools and utilities that you can use if you install a clean version of the OS (operating system).
