  Follow the instructions to transfer video from Comcast DVR:

  I don't know if anyone can help me (and I don't know if I'm posting in the right place, but here goes)...

  I am currently looking for a new laptop that I play music and video clips. The program I want to run has a recommended spec:
  P4 3 GHz cpu
  Card direct X video such as NVidia GeForce 6600 or higher, or ATI 9800 or higher
  4.1 direct X or card Asio sound compatible
  2 GB OF RAM
  200 MB or higher-hard drive

  Anyone know a name or make of laptop can handle the above?

  The specifications of your programs are not high if you buy a cheaper model with a bit slower CPU and graphics card.
  But important to know would be what display size you want because there are a lot of different Toshiba laptops.

  Theoretically, Toshiba NB300 should be fast enough but it has a small screen size but very high battery life because it saves energy.

  You have external speakers or headphones? If this isn't the case, I would recommend a laptop computer with speakers Harman/kardon powerful as Satellite A660. This last one I and it of absolutely brilliant, the best laptop I've ever had. It has the powerful processor Intel Core i7 CPU with 6 GB of RAM, 500 GB drive HARD and nVidia GeForce GT330M graphics card. Keyboard is quite nice for typing and the display has many colors due LED backlight.

  Friend bought me also by Satellite A660 but with processor i3 and Core 4 GB of RAM. That s too powerful and for your needs, it would be fast enough.

  Here are a few ways, one using the Netstream class using the FLVPlayback component.

  The NetStream approach, what follows in the timeline code will play/loop for the planned mp4 file...

  I assume you mean WTV and not the WMV files? Likely the reason is that the adapter
  questions of cable is not HDCP compatible. (Rules of DRM Media Center

  I do video editing.  I transferred my camera video file and Windows Media Player played the video and audio very well at the beginning.  I edited the file with editing software and exported the file again.  Now, the sound will not play using WMP but it will play if I use video editing software.

  (a) don't you get any specific error message when you play the video?

  (b) what is the file format of the resulting video file after editing by using the video editing software?

  (c) you are able to play the files on the computer? You hear the sound?

  I suggest you try the following steps:

  O make sure that windows MediaPlayer is not muted, press F7 on the keyboard to turn the sound back on.

  Ø check if the volume is at a minimum in Media Player, press F9 on the keyboard to increase the volume.

  Verify that the default audio device is correctly set

  1. click on start, type Sound in the box to start the search.

  2. click on sound in the results of search at the top of the start menu.

  3. click on the tab reading notice the check mark next to the default device. For most users, the default device is speakers. Make sure that the audio settings are configured as expected. Follow these steps:

  4. on the playback tab, select the playback device, click Properties, click the Advanced tab and make sure that the default Format is set to the value you expect. When you are finished, close this window to return to the previous window.

  5. on the playback tab, select the playback device, click on configure and make sure that the configurations are set correctly.

  6. If the sound settings are well positioned, you are using speakers as the audio device and your speakers are already set as the default device, go to method 5 now.

  7. Select the audio device you want as the default audio device and then click on set as default.

  8. click OK to save your settings and close the sound dialog box.

  Now, check if the problem is resolved.

  Please help - it's driving me crazy! I got this to work!

  I am using Vista Ultimate and a connection (cat-5) ethernet to an xbox 360 as a Media Extender (via a Linksys router). I get the error of the video:

  I have a Happauge PVR 150 TV capture card installed, and you want to watch TV and my video files Via the Xbox 360. I can see the guide for lists of TV programs, but not to look at them without getting the message above.  I can also put in place a program to record, display the video thumbnail, but not play. Video files only will play are videos very select few years recorded only where there is.

  My graphics card is an ATI 2900XT - 512 MB of ram, with the latest drivers.

  I've seen a number of discussions on the web that describes the same (or similar) problem, but none of them seem to have no solution.

  I had Norton Internet Security installed and it has since withdrawn because of the firewall. I had thought, it could be a firewall issue, but it is not. I'm now using the Windows Firewall for now.

  I deleted and reinstalled the Xbox as an Extender media several times... no help. I have re-installed the complete drivers for the video capture card, it has not helped either. I checked and double-checked the settings on my router as well.

  The xbox is set for the share on my multimedia computer. The correct files can also be programmed for sharing.

  On the PC in Windows Media Center, I can view the TV programs, record programs etc etc etc all work.

  Any help would be really appreciated!
