What happened to button the history tab?

I upgraded to Firefox 4 and noticed the historical by-tab button that if you clicked on it would be the list of all the sites that had been opened in this individual tab and allows you to select a site and there come back quickly has been deleted! It is on the left side of the tabs to the left bar of the ' < ' button and he looked like what looks like the current button "list all tabs". This feature has been SO useful, now if I want to go see all the sites I visited in a tab historically I have to keep clicking the button arrow to the left, which is much less effective. Developers Please ADD THIS BACK!

Click and hold or right-clicking the Unified rear / front of the button to see 'history' in this tab. Or, you can install this add-on that restores the arrow drop-marker.

  • Could not get current historic recent navigation on the history tab

For several weeks, whenever I use Firefox, sites recently visited from the history tab, below the selection recently closed Windows are always the same game. When I look at the history in the window view history, the history is updated. How can I clear the list of the sites of recent history on the history tab and reset it will be current each time that I use Firefox?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.

  • How to remove the history tab.

Despite the erasure of history, setting don't forget history forever, etc., always Firefox remember my history in tabs when I open a new tab. It shows some sites. This is clearly in direct opposition to clear the history settings I selected of course, violating my privacy.

Apart from the cognitive dissonance of a browser that is supposed to guarantee completely insecurity, and people do not have stopped using it completely, I guess that anyone knows how to disable tab history, or people are naively using Firefox thinking that it is a secure browser.

If the first is the case, and people do not know how to disable the history tab, I would like a clear explanation of how to do something not only a geek technique could understand.

I found a solution to this problem clearly explained here:

  • What happened to move the hand in CS6?

What happened to move the hand in CS6? You know when you create an adjustment layer, and then you could drive under the sliders and just start dragging anyway? And you could option-double-click and reset the value to 0. Is this feature still in CS6?

You should see a hand when the pointer is on a label of cursor, then drag everything keeping the visible hand. Double-click a tag to set the cursor in the middle.

  • What happened to save the tabs when Firefox is closed?

In Firefox v3.6* every time you closed the browser asked you if you want to save your tabs open so that they reopened the next time you start Firefox. Even when the update to the extensions/add-ons and by having to restart Firefox it would happen. It has been very useful but in v4.0. * This feature seems to no longer exist.

Firefox stores now always the old session, and you can access it by going to the history menu and selecting "restore previous Session."

If you want Firefox to display the message to save the session, it can be turned on again by changing some preferences.

    1. Type of topic: config in the address bar and press on enter
    2. Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    3. Find browser.tabs.warnOnClosepreference, if its value is set to false, double-click on it to change its value to true
    4. Repeat this for 3 preferences browser.warnOnQuit, the browser.warnOnRestart and the browser.showQuitWarning

If you always open the last set of tabs, another approach is the following:

    1. Click on the orange button Firefox, then select options to open the options window
    2. Go to the general Panel
    3. Change the setting "When Firefox starts" to "show my windows and tabs from last time '.

  • My new sites pinned tab only display full-screen mode. What happened only since the update of Firefox.

I have my best sites 'pinned' to the new tab. Since the update of Firefox do show that the first four sites (top line) and I can't drag/release those missing bookmarks.

I have just discovered that the sites are still there but only appear when I select the mode "full screen".

Is there a way I can restore the page to show two lines of pinned sites without being full screen mode please?

It seems that there is a regression with 39 Firefox on the new tab page. A bug report has been filed on 4 and the triage team responded.

I saw the same thing with the difference in mode full-screen during the test of this "change"; the 'missing' line appear in full-screen - but with the resolution of my screen, I could see two rows of tiles, the 3rd rank was not missing mode full screen.

Overall, I think you should try the new tab extension tools and see how you like it.
    https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/addon/new-tab-tools/

I use that in a number of my Firefox profiles. Profile where I checked this problem which has been mentioned in a number of discussions of the forum over the weekend that I use rarely - I use it see how Firefox works as "installed", before making a change.
