What happened to save the tabs when Firefox is closed?
In Firefox v3.6* every time you closed the browser asked you if you want to save your tabs open so that they reopened the next time you start Firefox. Even when the update to the extensions/add-ons and by having to restart Firefox it would happen. It has been very useful but in v4.0. * This feature seems to no longer exist.
Firefox stores now always the old session, and you can access it by going to the history menu and selecting "restore previous Session."
If you want Firefox to display the message to save the session, it can be turned on again by changing some preferences.
- Type of topic: config in the address bar and press on enter
- Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
- Find browser.tabs.warnOnClosepreference, if its value is set to false, double-click on it to change its value to true
- Repeat this for 3 preferences browser.warnOnQuit, the browser.warnOnRestart and the browser.showQuitWarning
If you always open the last set of tabs, another approach is the following:
- Click on the orange button Firefox, then select options to open the options window
- Go to the general Panel
- Change the setting "When Firefox starts" to "show my windows and tabs from last time '.

I can't save the tabs when Firefox is closed
I tried the solution in this link
Firefox does not ask to save tabs, windows and exit
but it did not workOne of the changes in Firefox 4: by default Firefox 4 does not display the warning "Save tabs and exit" then to the closure of several tabs, but it can be turned on again by changing some preferences.
- Record of the tabs was not removed from Firefox 4, but it works a little differently.
- By default, Firefox 4 will not ask to save tabs, but instead it will always save your tabs in the output. You can restore the next time by selecting "Restore previous Session" in the history menu, or by pressing the button restore Firefox's default homepage.
- Note: This was a decision by the developers. On this forum, we are all volunteers without compensation here to help other users. Develop them and employees of Mozilla/Firefox rarely, if ever visit here.
To display the message "save tabs and exit" when closing multiple tabs, you can do the following:
- Type of topic: config in the URL/address bar and press the Enter key
- Accept the warning message (promise to be careful)
- Open the preferences/list page
- Filter = browser.tabs.warnOnClose
- If its value is set to false, double-click top (in the lower panel) to toggle its value to true
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the 3 following preferences also:
- browser.warnOnQuit
- browser.warnOnRestart
- browser.showQuitWarning
- Note: last pref is new in Firefox 4 b 12, may need to add (boolean)

Save my tabs when Firefox is closed so that they are always there when I restart Firefox
You have to use restore on my computer recently and once I did, Firefox seems to have lost the ability to save the tabs that I had opened since the last time that I used it, do not remember how it was configured to save tabs after each session. Also restore previous session was grayed out on then the previous session was not guarded, was able to recover some of the tabs looking through my story, right now I can't just close Firefox and open it to my previous tabs, it starts a new session. Will be closed in the future Firefox until a solution is found from my task manager, because it usually allows me to restore the previous Firefox tabs because it acts as an accident.
Normally, Firefox saves your open windows and tabs that you will when your browser crashes, so it can restore your session automatically. To get Firefox to do this each time that you start, you can set that in the Options page. See: start-up, homepage, tabs and download settings.
If Firefox does not always restore your session, check the Options page Privacy panel to ensure that:
(1) you authorize Firefox saves history
(2) you may not erase history at the stop -
the previous version would ask something like "save the file" when I would close firefox. as I use different tabs, it is a very useful feature for me. I want to get this same functionality on the new version, if I want to know how to go back to the old version.
Thank you

In all previous versions of Firefox, when I close Firefox, asked me if I wanted to save my tabs. The latest version does not have this option. Why not and what adjustment will bring back this feature. I don't have to pull down the menu history and ask the previous Session, I should be able to start with my previous session if I exit and not to close tabs.
Updates should increase the functionality and NOT completely change the appearance of the program.
Thank you
"I asked also originally where the setting was to open Firefox with my previous tabs."
I do not see that in your original question, above. I have provided an answer to this question in my second reply:
- You can set this option in the Options > general change, "when Firefox opens:" to "show my windows and tabs from last time '.
"If you receive a number of issues, I think that you and your partners might inform Mozilla user base concerns."
- It is not our function in his presence.

Since the update for Firefox 4, I offer more the ability to save tabs on shutdown - makes more rapid access to these sites when commissioning the next day. Why this possibility has been removed? It was a feature favorite and saved a lot of time.
Firefox 4 records the previous session.
You can use "Firefox > history > restore previous Session" for the previous session.
There is also a button 'Restore previous Session' on the default on: Home home page.Another possibility is to use:
- Tools > Options > general > startup: "When Firefox starts": "show my windows and tabs from last time '.
You can set the preferences of warning on the topic: config page true via the context menu or toggle the value with a double click of the left.
- browser.showQuitWarning, see http://blog.zpao.com/post/3174360617/about-that-quit-dialog
- browser.tabs.warnOnClose, see http://kb.mozillazine.org/About%3Aconfig_entries
- browser.warnOnQuit, see http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.warnOnQuit
- browser.warnOnRestart, see http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.warnOnRestart
To open the topic: config page, type Subject: config in the address bar (address) and press the 'Enter' key, as you type the url of a Web site to open a Web site.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access this page. -
I have my best sites 'pinned' to the new tab. Since the update of Firefox do show that the first four sites (top line) and I can't drag/release those missing bookmarks.
I have just discovered that the sites are still there but only appear when I select the mode "full screen".
Is there a way I can restore the page to show two lines of pinned sites without being full screen mode please?
It seems that there is a regression with 39 Firefox on the new tab page. A bug report has been filed on 4 and the triage team responded.
I saw the same thing with the difference in mode full-screen during the test of this "change"; the 'missing' line appear in full-screen - but with the resolution of my screen, I could see two rows of tiles, the 3rd rank was not missing mode full screen.
Overall, I think you should try the new tab extension tools and see how you like it.
https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/addon/new-tab-tools/I use that in a number of my Firefox profiles. Profile where I checked this problem which has been mentioned in a number of discussions of the forum over the weekend that I use rarely - I use it see how Firefox works as "installed", before making a change.

When I have 2 or more tabs open in my browser I want to close Firefox and save the tabs so when I open it again the sites will return. Use to do this, but something needs to happen. begin to close, now it asks me if I want to save sites
If you still want to open the sites that you opened before, in the Options dialog box, go to the general Panel and make sure that the parameter 'When Firefox starts' is set to ' show my windows and tabs from last time '. You will not be asked to save the tabs because they are automatically registered.
If it is set to one, but sites do not open when you start Firefox, open your profile folder and delete sessionstore.js and if there are sessionstore.bak. For more information on how to find your profile folder, see the article of profiles - where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data . Who can help if the file that stores the details of the session is corrupt.

How to configure Firefox 4.01 to save all tabs when closing the browser?
In the previous version 3.x.y to Firefox, when I closed the browser, he asked me if I wanted to save my open pages / tablets before closing. When I open the browser again, then it rebooted all previously open tabs / pages. In the version 4.01, before avant de fermer close the browser warns me that I'm closing multiple tabs, but when I restart the browser once again, it does not load the already open tabs. How to configure the browser to behave like the old version of 3.x.y, that is perfectly save all open tabs and load these new opening to restart the browser?

Firefox does not save the tabs after the upgrade of Microsoft Silverlight.
A Web site that I visited recently demanded that I update to the latest version of Silverlight. I did it, and Firefox said it had to be restarted. When I restarted Firefox, even if she asked me to save my tabs this initial reboot, my tabs have not been saved. Now, every time I close Firefox, the warning that I am about to close x number of tabs appears, and there is no option to save my tabs. Clearly, the Silverlight upgrade has been the cause of this error, but how to re - activate the option to save the tabs?
You can check the startup parameter:
Tools > Options > general > startup: startup of Firefox:
Show my windows and tabs from last time
Show my home pageSee also:

Even thought is selected the option ' when Firefox starts to show my windows and tabs from last time "I always have the default page of Firefox.
Hi Goldie_,
I guess you don't watch this page when you closed Firefox last time. Also that you are not in private, correct navigation mode? Looks like it is maybe a problem with Firefox being able to save your file pref.js. You should try the steps listed in the preferences section that won't save trouble. Try and let me know how it goes.
Hope this helps!
