  I am trying to add SSI in my web pages.  Is it still possible with Dreamweaver CC?  I see that this feature has been removed in Dreamweaver CC.

  Inclusions on the server side are a feature of the webserver and not Dreamweaver. You certainly can still add them to your Web site.

• Problem with server-side includes

  Hi - I have a page with two php includes no longer correctly display. They were great when I got to the top, and I have not changed anything.  They are not displayed online - and also do not appear on my local server (Apache).  I have same code on other websites which display correctly, on my server and online.  There is nothing wrong with the paths to files as they will be displayed correctly on the screen of DW, and also on the live view, so I'm completely baffled.

  Anyone can shed some light?

  If it is hosted on the same servers that works? If I save a file .shtml with php scripts, it does not address on one of my servers. The other is classic asp, so I can not test it. But on that has php, ssi are not treated, but I do not get an error. I create a simple SSI and use the [an error occurred while processing the directive] on a test page and see if it works. Easy way to test what booth said.

  I discovered earlier SSI and it makes much more sense than using frames, but I want your experience to take into account.

  The above code will preview the text in 'Content.shtml', but will not display the text in 'content2.shtml '.

  For troubleshooting purposes, I reduced the content in each file to only basic text lines.

  Dreamweaver Live View will display all of the side server. However the "creation Mode" and "Preview in browser" will only show a ssi.

  Preferably following settings are enabled:

  -Preview using temporary file

  -Display the contents of the included file

• Server Side Includes do not appear?

  I support a website and I was keeping up with DW (prior to CS3 and now I'm on CS3) and with the exception of the home page, whenever I have test a page locally on my PC, the content of understands it do not appear in the browser.  Once I have download from the web site, they work fine.  I must emphasize that the homepage is the only page in the root directory.  All other pages are in a folder of next level.  At that time I designed the website, I thought it might help me to organize things, but I regret the fact.  This has happened with the previous version and with the CS3 version.

  In any case, what I'm stuck with.  I've set up my local site without access to the server.  Given my situation, is anyway to get includes it to work on my PC when I test the pages in DW?

  Open the preferences panel in the Edit (menu Dreamweaver on Mac) menu and select invisible elements. Make sure the checkbox labeled "Server-Side includes: display the contents of the included file" is selected.

  It is also important to ensure that your server-side includes contain only fragments of the page. There should be no DOCTYPE., or duplicateortags in include files.

  Also in the preferences, select Preview in the browser and choose the option to preview using a temporary file.

• Server-side include does not not on Web site

  I try to get side Server includes work on my site, but I had some problems with it. I have a server side include on 1 page where I am trying to get my head to work. So it appears fine in Dreamweaver CS5, but it does not appear on my site. I tried the file and virtual and do not seem to difference between the two (in Dreamweaver at least). I'm hosted on GoDaddy, if that makes a difference.

  What additional information do you need to solve problems?

• Insert menu - no Server-Side Includes? Help!

  OK, so I'm very new to Dreamweaver and web design in general. I bought the Adobe Dreamweaver Classroom in a Book and now, in Chapter 6, I wonder using the Insert menu, choose Server-Side Includes... but there is nothing of how, in the Insert menu.

  I take it step by step-, also bought Jennifer Robbins 'Learning Web Design' (in which she recommends Dreamweaver), so I'm trying to make it through BASIC Dreamweaver before entering the examples of Ms. Robbins... and I'm stuck... any help or suggestions? I have upgraded my package CS6 Design & Web Premium for versions of CC - maybe thats why this menu item is "missing"?

  Adobe has created a headache for users with this redesign rather sudden and radical of the menu Insert without any prior warning - and no real advantage for everyone. Seems to be a case of change for the sake of change

  We have now two very different insertion of DW CS6 menus: Cloud and non-Cloud.

  It's a poorly timed decision by Adobe with the unfortunate design has an impact on beginners (trying to learn training CS6 material) and Veterans DW whose workflow is interrupted without valid reason. The change had to be made in CS7 when everyone had time to adapt.

  This "little yellow tab" is indicating that ssi / hidden code is inserted in the page.

  You can configure dreamweaver to do not show this in your preferences - invisible elements - elements of server markup.

  In this topic, I will refer to the following containers on my page:

  A: DIV contains the content of the page; This div has overflow, highlight the value.

  B: DIV contains links

  DIV A contains 3 different SSI, each with a different ID. Using the show/hide element, I put it so that when the user clicks on a link in a Div B, the side appropriate server include displays in A DIV, and the other two server-side includes are set to hide.

  The only problem is that when their appropriate links are clicked, ISS 2 and 3 of SSI do not appear in the top of the DIV, but to the position they would be if SSIs all were set to show, then the user must scroll to see SSI and SS 2.

  Know you people anyway to the poster of the SSI at the top of the DIV?

  It occurred to me that instead of use show/hide behavior, I may need to include somehow a SSI only when a DIV B link is clicked, and when a different link B DIV is clicked, that SSI is stripped form on the page and the appropriate SSI are included. Is it still possible?

  Without seeing your code, it could be how you position these elements on your page.  If you plan on hiding the layers you may set these layers to show at the same place every time by setting the position of A parent DIV and the absolute position of the 3 inner layers with a top and left value set to 0.

  If a shortcut is used while Firefox is already open the error will not occur.

  For me, the problem was the FoxClock extension. Once I disabled it, the problem was gone.
