  • FTP problems with the linux ftp server

    Hello

    I have a problem when trying to get a file via FTP. The FTP server is an embedded linux system, get the file manually via FTP is no problem, but to TestStand, I get the following error:

    Cannot download the file ' / opt/log/sislog.log'.
    Check if the local and remote path exists and is read and write respectively.

    The system does not have the specified path.

    error. I know that the file is there, the permissions are given. So I tried the other way around and tried to download a file called "mysislog.log" in that directory and download it again. I get the same error, but when I telnet to the LUX machine, I see that there is a file in this directory, but the file is called "\mysislog.log" - so I think backslash TestStand put the last bar in the name of the file and therefore impossible to load the file.

    Here is the list of the repertoire of the LUX machine:

    root@FCM2001-A2-03-37-4A: / mnt/exponent0/opt/log > he's
    -rw - r - 1 root root 0 16 Apr 08:51 \mysislog.log
    -rw - r - r - 1 root root 111219 16 Apr 08:41 syslog_0.log
    -rw - r - r - 1 root root 262096 Apr 13 11:52 syslog_1.log
    -rw - r - r - 1 root root 35503 Apr 13 11:53 syslog_error_0.log

    Any ideas?

    Hello

    Unfortunately, this is a known issue that will be fixed in a future version of TestStand (although I don't know what future version). The FTP step was designed for LabVIEW RT.

    The workaround is to call a code module that runs this ftp upload, possibly using a ftp software.

    See you soon,.

  • Security and restricting access to an FTP server

    I did a search here on the forums about this and I wasn't able to find a good topic for my questions yet, if there is a debate currently on the forum, please forgive me and I would be grateful for a link. Anyway, my situation:

    I have an ASA firewall and I have never set up an FTP server for a large-scale network (good in my opinion). I want to ensure that we have the highest security level optimal for FTP and restrict only specific users designated by an ACL. SFTP would be the best option available for the security measures? Should I only use the passive FTP mode and range of ports above 1023 do I open for only 1 or 2 FTP clients at a time? Also if I use passive mode do I need to use FTP protocol control?

    In addition, currently, I'm not sure what files need to be available on our network, but the SFTP server always must be installed in the demilitarized zone?

    Thanks for any advice,-Mark

    To activate the SFTP-server on the computer where the data resides is easy, but far not the safest option.

    There are a few more ways to better ensure that. What about:

    -Place the SFTP-server in the DMZ and let this server access the internal server via a fileshare. If someone takes your SFTP server, so it cannot directly a system in the internal network under its control.

    -If the data display, data cannot be copied or synchronized to the DMZ-SFTP-server once the changes.

    SFTP is based on SSH, so it works entirely on a port which is usually TCP/22.

  • PIX 501 to allow access to the ftp server

    Hello

    We have a public ip address of the pix 501 and the other, I want to access the ftp server on the internal network from the outside. I tried to configure the PDM by a static nat, which translate to the address of the FTP to the public address, but then none of the stations networks could out - how can I configure it?

    I would also like to know what ports should I open on the acl for access to the ftp server.

    Thank you, daguech

    Yes, sorry... You must use the unique host for addresses command. The access list is applied to your external interface?

    for example, the command would be:

    Access-group acl_out in interface outside

    Also, can you connect to the local ftp server behind a firewall?

    Hello

    If you prefer not to post on this public forum, you can email [email protected] with a link to this post.

  • FTP server on a virtual machine XP

    I have a set up problem on a FTP server on a virtual machine.  I'm out of prompt Windows XP on XP with Filezilla host that the server I'm trying to put in place.  Network connectivity is in NAT mode (I can't get bridged to work properly).  When I start the server, I can connect locally within the virtual machine, but I can not connect from outside the server.  Frankly, I don't know what IP address to use to connect.  I tried the IP address contained in an ipconfig on the client, the IP addresses listed as VMnet1 and VMnet8 when I run a command ipconfig on the host, as well as the IP found by visiting whatismyip.com from the guest.  None of them work properly.  Someone at - it ideas?

    If you use NAT, you must port the FTP port forward to your Vmware workstation. http://www.VMware.com/support/WS55/doc/ws_net_nat_advanced.html

  • Try to connect to an ftp server

    I am able to connect to Cerberus (5.0.0.5) using the web browser or by using a client, CoreFTP, but I can't connect programmatically using org.apache.commons.net.ftp.FTPClient.

    Here is my code (it is actually using the ftpclient java through Coldfusion):

    ftpsClient = CreateObject("java","org.apache.commons.net.ftp.FTPClient").init ();
    ftpsClient.connect (JavaCast ("string", "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx"), 21);
    connected = ftpsClient.isConnected ();

    Login = ftpsClient.login (JavaCast("string","username"), JavaCast ("string", "password"));

    That's what I see in the log file of the ftp server:

    2011-12-13 13:47:54 [0] client connected to Cerberus FTP Server 5.0.0.5 on "computer".

    2011-12-13 13:48:41 [1] application for incoming connection on FTP interface 0 to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    2011-12-13 13:48:41 [1] connection accepted FTP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx request
    2011-12-13 13:48:45 [1] USER svc.script
    2011-12-13 13:48:45 [1] 331 user svc.script password please

    At this point the Coldfusion/Java client returns "truncated server response.  I have also tried no way connection and sending the command instead of the user and pass command separately like this:

    userCmd = ftpsClient.sendCommand (JavaCast ("string", "USER"), JavaCast ("string", "username"));

    But as soon as I send the 'USER' command I see above in the file log and the same answer, «answer truncated Server»

    When I use the PCTCT tag like this:

    < cfsetting requesttimeout = "1000" >

    < PCTCT action = 'open' connection = 'ftptest' course = "false".

    Server port = "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" = "21"

    username = "username" password "password" timeout = "1000" stoponerror = "true" >

    I get a ' java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect.

    Someone at - it ideas?  Thank you very much.

    This has been resolved.

    There is a bug in the apache commons ftpclient which distorts / r in the welcome message.  The people of ftp server an amendment that resolves this problem.

    With PCTCT, when I changed the server attribute on the PCTCT opened in the name of the server instead of the ip address, it started to work.  For me, it's a bug in ColdFusion, you should be able to use the ip address.

    The other thing I noticed that when you use getfile, you must set the the failifexists attribute to "false".  If you do not, it will fail every time and the file has a size of "0", if the file really exists.  For me, another bug.

  • Reading file from the ftp server and importing data into the table

    Hi experts,

    Well, basically, I text with different layout files have been uploaded to an ftp server. Now, I must write a procedure to recover these files, read and insert data into a table... what to do?

    your help would be greatly helpful.

    Thank you

    See the link, hope it will work.

    It is an old method, using the utl_file_dir parameter that is now obsolete and which is frankly a waste of space when external tables can do exactly the same thing much more easily.

  • Export a Table to a flat file and upload to a FTP server for external provider

    I did some extensive research on forums and I think I have an idea, but really need help. Basically to have a table that is to be exported in a flat file and uploaded to an FTP server so that our provider can obtain the data from Monday to Saturday and automated by sysdate. These data are used to produce daily letters that come out to customers.

    After doing some research I came across the UTL_FILE package and read more into that right now, but I don't know if that's what I use to create the file.
    I use TOAD right now and see how the do it manually but really need the file to create itself and send it automatically to 06:00 Monday - Saturday, with the date at the end of the name of the file, which makes a single file for each day.

    Thanks in advance for all your help.

    As Justin and others have said that I wrote [XUTL_FTP | http://www.chrispoole.co.uk/apps/xutlftp.htm] If you won't find in the Oracle documentation. It is pure PL/SQL using UTL_TCP and implements a built-in FTP from PL/SQL client / API. One of its many procedures overloaded FTP the contents of a refcursor directly to an FTP server of your choice, which means that no intermediate file is necessary. Since it is pure PL/SQL, it is trivial to program using DBMS_JOB/DBMS_SCHEDULER.

    Any questions just ask.
