What is going on? Help? HP said that it is not normal...

I use a hp pavillion and running on a windows vista.

the free space on the drive in my computer tends to go up and down (for example: it went down to 5 GB, but then rose 7 GB.) [Note how the value of the free space backwards is greater than the value goes to the bottom. it worries me, really] and now the fluctuations are on... 1 GB from top to bottom), so I thought it was a virus. I've searched the forums on the analyses of virus and other things so I scanned my computer with Prevx (recommended by SpiritX) and malwarebytes (recommended by M.Murphey). the two results are out own.

When I got my hp Pavilion, it came pre-installed with norton 360, and my parents have decided to continue their subscription. so I scanned with norton too. Also he's own.

to make sure that I didn't have a virus, I even called the people of symantec to Australia and even started a computer using link, so that aid could check if there was a virus in my registry and other things. He checked and said my system was clean, but when I told him about the problem of fluctuation, it also was diverted, since he checked and nothing virus-y came. then he suggested, I called microsoft.

When I called microsoft, they said to call my computer manufacturer, to see if they can help.

I called them and told them about the 1 GB, up and down, and they said it was normal. so I hung up and realized I forgot to ask them about the fluctuations about 5 GB. so I called again. the hp guy did not understand what I said and said that I should send a mail.

and so I sent the email, asking if fluctuations going back 5 GB and 7 GB down is normal. I got a response that said "I want to inform you that the fluctuation of the free space on the disk is not normal."

and now the free space on the disk is down 0.3 GB every hour!

Anyone know what is happening? Help!

If you have a Recovery Console will help the link I listed above and therefore cannot your system
manufacturer support and forums (if any).

Make the disc, and then run Startup Repair which is an automatic option of the disc then
Run the commands listed to go to the command prompt and check links.
