What is happening on your pc after the expiry of the "trial of activation period" of 30 days without activating it?

I am hving problems with the installation of Windows XP Professional. I was not able to get any help yet in this forum to reformat my HARD drive in order to reinstall the operating system. What I want to know with this issue, this is what will happen to my PC after the end of the 30 day trial period and I hv not "active"? I guess I'll hv access to my bios but not the operating system. Will be my boot mgr restored b (it has "disappeared" from the bios when I tried to do the installation of the OS)? The operating system will still try to prevent me from doing a reformatting the drive HARD in preventing me from creating diskettes; I need to do a reformat with Seagate Diskwizard or via a command 'format' floppy worldwide BACK?  Also concerning 'activation '; Pc shud be built entirely (with all its components installed) before activation or can some components b added later... I put, t want to add my Creative Labs audio card and printer until after everthing else has updated drivers, etc.. ???  I read several of the MS solutions on "activating" HT, but none seem to answer these questions. Thanks for any help that can b gave me. Neil 70yroldnewbie

Hi 70yroldnewbie,

Thanks for posting. If you're using a genuine Windows, you can activate at any time when activation is up. If it cannot activate online, use the telephone option. The reprocutions of activation would not be some windows features will be locked down. You will always be able to boot, reinstall, backup files and other functions.

I hope this helps!

Possibly, you have made changes to your 'by default develop settings'. The default WB in Lightroom should be "under the shot" to view this selection has recently imported a file raw in the develop Module, click history in the left panel, click on the first import. (see screen capture) and then see what settings have been applied to import for the white balance it must be 'in the know '.

  • Again - the EULA allows to keep Windows XP after the installation and activation of a retail upgrade to Windows 7

The EULA allows to keep Windows XP after installation and activation of a retail upgrade to Windows 7?
I understand that the EULA (EULA) prohibits the USE of the operating system upgraded - must also be removed from the system?

I intend to upgrade a pre-installed Windows Media Center 2006 on a Gateway computer to a level of detail to Windows 7 Pro 64 - bit.  I am adding a new hard drive, as this case nears end of life... and plan to install the operating system upgraded to the new HD - because I have XP 32 bit to Win7-64 bit... and a "custom" installation is necessary, anyway.

This will result in an operating system XP on the old hard drive and the new OS Win7 Pro 64 - bit on the new drive.  There have been suggestions that the answer to this question is simply to remove the "old" operating system, after activating the 'new' Windows 7.  However - I see that any installation (or REINSTALLATION) of the operating system upgraded to Win 7 requires the previous XP to be "present on the computer.

QUESTION: as long as I don't 'USE' the BONE replaced/implemented to date, I am in compliance with the EULA?  Alternatively, do I install "over" this Windows Media Player OS - on the old, due to lack of hard drive?

The Media Center EULA States: «...» "15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After you upgrade, you can no longer use the software upgrade of. ... ', but is silent (as far as I can find by reading the EULA on the question of if software upgrade HAVE to be 'destroyed'.)

Thanks for your review (a reference to the appropriate Microsoft documentation would be nice too)

You said above, «...» "You will be able to upgrade to Windows XP, it is a qualification license... »

And I assume you are talking about my software Windows XP Media Center Edition (currently installed), as being a "qualification licence".

    That is right.

Are we in agreement that a copy preinstalled OEM of Windows XP Media Center Edition IS extendable with a 'detail' update the license for Windows 7?

His qualification, but you can't make a real room upgrade, you can do a custom installation. See the previous post on how to migrate from Windows XP to Windows 7. An upgrade maintains the personal files, settings and installed applications.

I understand the ban on using the OEM OS software OR the upgrade replacement software on one computer other than the one on which it was originally installed by the OEM.

I also understand that I cannot use the "improved" XP Media Center software, once the upgrade of Windows 7 has occurred.

The rest to determine if it NEEDS to be deleted or replaced... you have no guidance on this issue?

Well, when you perform a custom installation, in essence, it is deleted or replaced. Then, it is part of the upgrade license. It's like it becomes a mind is more tangible, but always there as a base to which the upgrade license may exist on your system.

Although I can't find the ban against the "continued" it any where in the EULA.

  • Purchase 6 of Lightroom to desktop after the trial with CC

    Hello

After the trial period with Lightroom CC I would buy the desktop version.

I just want to be sure that all the work I did this plane on the catalague ticket are not lost. The purchase means the key only to LR, or will I have to reinstall the whole? I backup the catalog on an external drive, it will be sufficient for reloaded with the new version?

    Thanks in advance,

    Dario

    Hi dario74xyz.

    I hope you do well.

Yes, you can buy for sure LR CC or LR 6 and none of your work will be lost, and you don't need to reinstall it after buying it.

After the purchase of the trial of LR, it is allowed under your email address.

If you search for items 14, go into products from Adobe, click on 'Buy' in front of the name of the product and use the drop down menus to specify Mac or Windows full version or upgrade.

  • Pre-load Palm TX - what will happen when I Hotsync for the first time?

I bought a 'medical' Palm TX Ebay delivered pre-loaded with lots of software.  I want to save the unit since I have no way to recover it in case of hardware/software/human error.

I downloaded & installed Hotsync 6.2 but I'm afraid to try the Hotsync because the documents of the seller warned do NOT hang on to my computer because it damage my programs.  Why would I NOT want to do?  What happens during the "1st" with a PC & Palm Hotsync.  The PC formats the Palm?  Can I control who and keep him to crush and run the Palm over the PC profile on 1st sync?  I know that I can come back it up after the PC & Palm are synchronized, I'm just afraid it will clear things if I do not pay attention.

Bottom Line: I want to protect the investment, but information from the seller have me worried that I would lose it all by using the native Hotsync tool.  Should I be afraid?

Be afraid... Be very afraid!   I hope that the bottom does not apply to your purchase, but we have heard this story before.

There are a lot of scams on eBay with preload Palm devices.  Many of them use pirated software.  No respectable seller of Palm devices with any conscience at all wouldn't you to "not HotSync. This should send red flags floating and alarms goes off!  I have several medical programs on my TX, and they are not cheap by any means.

It is possible that the programs will be 'home' to the author of the programs and will try to check the recording.  If the software is pirated, the registration process may come to an abrupt stop, and the program will not work!

Did you get a Palm to purchase installation disc?  Do you have codes for registration for medical programs?  I bet that you do not have...

You have a choice to make.  Keep the appliance and do not use it for all 'normal' functions that involve HotSync or return the unit as soon as POSSIBLE for a full refund.  Palm TX can be found on amazon.com and there are a lot of available medical software - the two freeware and for purchase.  Skyscape.com is one of the best suppliers autour and very probably has anything that your specialty needs.

  • Make sure you get all your drivers after the upgrade of your operating system

I've seen a lot of post lately in which users try to upgrade their operating systems (Vista-> Windows 7 or Windows 7-> Windows 8).  Often the hardest part of this upgrade is to make sure that you get all of the available drivers and software in order to use the material.

You can always download software and drivers for your laptop computer manually by visiting the HP support Web page and search for your laptop in the product number.  This document shows you how to locate the number for your product.

However, the best way to download and install the software for your laptop is to use HP Support Assistant.  This application comes pre-installed on most computers but portable consumer is likely to be absent after a clean install or upgrade the operating system.  It will search all the drivers and other software that can use your laptop as well as updating existing drivers/software.

I hope that you will find useful information.  Have a great day!
