I've noticed recently that LxrAutorun runs periodically on my computer.  What is this program and what is its role.

It is a security program that comes with a Lexar USBjump reader.

You can remove it from Control Panel > Add / Remove programs.  If you don't see anything about Lexar Secure II, useAutoruns to find where LxrAutorun or other Lexar software is started.  Uncheck the entries and restart.  Unchecking a box in Autoruns does not remove anything from your computer, however things start during the next reboot.  If you want to permanently delete the startup item, you can do so by selecting it and pressing the delete key.

  • I have a computer that runs XP and used to run on Vista. The computer came with an activation key for Vista. What should I do if I want to return it to Vista?

I bought a brand new computer, so I can't remember if it came with a Vista installation CD or if this content is available online. As far as I know, the activation key was initially registered under my name.

Also, if I succeed at, go back to what it will do for installed programs. Should I install them again? What about programs that come with a limited number of licenses, as a McAfee antivirus?

    Hello

If you reinstall vista, you must reinstall all THE programs

Here are the different ways to reinstall Vista

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

    ____________________________________________________________

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

    __________________________________________________________

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

  • Plan the work that runs according to max date in the source to create table

    Hi all

I am trying to create an automation in my sql. Basically, I have a table I do reporting and analysis on which is a subset of records from a source table. For the purposes of this example, I called the source table "src_table" and my table as the target table, "tgt_table." Essentially the source table gets updated with a value again months from date (founded order_dt) and I have a procedure I call when the source table is updated to load the value of the new month of records in my target table. So let say June 2012 data is loaded in the source table, I call my procedure that has a date parameter and enter June 2012 as the point of departure date so that it looks for new records in the source table from June 1, 2012 and load it into my target table. For variety reasons I won't get in, my goal in a position is not a view, there must be a stand alone table. The problem is that the source never table gets updated at the same speed interval... sometimes they will load a new months of data at the beginning of the following month, sometimes medium of the month... sometimes I have to wait a few months to get another month of data. So, whenever I get a email notification telling me another month of data is loaded in the source table, I have a windows batch file that runs my setting... I just have to change the start date (based on the order_dt column) and run it. I want to do is automate the process so that I did not yet do. What do I think creates a task that runs every day or even at the end of each month, this work has basically seized the date of maximum order of the source table and if the date of the order is greater than the maximum order date in my target table, it runs my procedure that loads the new month with a value of data in my target table. Thus, for example, my maximum order of my target table date is May 31, 2012. The work runs at a certain period of time and check the maximum date on the source table, if the maximum date is May 31 nothing happens... new data has not been loaded so does not perform the procedure. If the maximum date on the source table is June 30, 2012, the maximum date is greater than the maximum in my table target date so that the procedure runs. I need also the procedure to insert records into the table in the source where the order date in the source table is > = at the time of maximum order in the target table.

In a Word, this is what I need but I'm not sure how to put in place. The procedure works fine... all I need is an interim procedure that runs as a scheduled task every x number of days and the date of maximum order check on the source table if it exceeds the maximum order on my table of target date it runs my procedure. My procedure is called "insert_new_orders" and when I run it I run it like:

    execute insert_new_orders('01-jun-2012');

If anyone can help me with what would be great :-)

    Thank you

  • I don't get my firmware or software updates. I see that someone has registered my computer as a workgroup computer and I have no right administrative no matter what I do

No update software, no firmware updates...
All parameters must be set up whenever I connect... Security etc...
There Samss and about 15 svchost.exe, WUDFHost?, Netman, homegroup x 2, amd Blutooth?

I reconfigured Vista 3 times and installed a clean copy of 7, but it must be in the BIOS or illegal product? The two return to the initial setting. (even after I reconfigure my hard drive). (I can modify manually on each file and even in the Panel administrator rights, but each change back!) I believe that when I shut my computer down start installation has been reconfigured with a backdoor.exe.  How can I get this person from my computer! I tried all the spyware, malware, etc... but it does not detect the "domain servers with functions of remote logon" and spies. Also, I used my personal card broadband since the date of purchase, but I don't really use this card that my supplier tells me. I'm tunnelling through their server. (Still a thing... they live 20 feet away!) Help!

    Wheretostart,
I'm a little confused about what exactly it is you are having problems with and are trying to accomplish.  However I will try to answer the items you listed.

1.) your BIOS update is something you need to do by using the machine to motherboard\PC.  They will provide the update to the BIOS and would be able to provide assistance to that.

(2.) what software you are trying to update?  If you try to update 3rd party programs, then you will need to check with the software manufacturer for updates to the software.  If you want to update Windows, and then run the Windows Update program that is located in the section of all programs from the Start Menu.

(3.) where you see these processes and how are you trying to start?  Also copied the names of them exactly?  I'm unable to find information about most of them.

4.) it's always good to be protected but having more than one installed virus\malware can cause problems.  You must make sure that only your program main virus has anything from when Windows starts.  Also I would recommend do not use Registry monitoring programs.  Sometimes they can do more harm than good.

5.) If you did a clean install of (I assume) Windows 7 and have not installed all the programs, then you must run the System File Checker to verify the integrity of the operating system.  If you have already installed other programs then I suggest running a clean boot and check the results.

6.) don't know what you're trying to accomplish here.  BIOS will not help you to partition your drive.

Finally, if you're just trying to get your system up and running without virus here, is what I would do if it was my computer:
    Disconnect from the internet.
Factory restore; Download the system to the status of day a "out of the box.
You may need to connect to internet to register Windows, but then I would unplug again.
If at this point you have an upgrade to Windows, I would then install.  And I would use custom installation so that it does not update the files in Vista but in fact move in Windows.old and install everything from scratch.
Once Windows 7 is installed, I connect to the internet.  Windows registry, run Windows Update, until there are no updates available. Then, install an antivirus program and make sure it is up-to-date.  You can then install programs and update drivers\software.

  • Can we prevent the popup Scheduler task Service at the start of the system for a scheduled task to run periodically?

When I have any task scheduled to run periodically (for example, daily, weekly), the Task Scheduler Service dialog box always appears on the logon screen if the computer was turned off at the time of day the task should run. From my experiences, it seems as the process that determines a spot missed his scheduled time does not consider that the PC is turned off. There seems to be no way to prevent this. Even when a task is scheduled to run at the system startup and periodically, the dialog box appears when the login screen appears.

    This analysis is correct?

I have three tasks in Task Scheduler. I didn't know anything about the task scheduler until I started having the popup. The first time I looked at Task Scheduler these three tasks have been implemented as follows.

Adobe Flash Player Updater - Annex: every 1 hour (s) 03:05 for 24 hour (s) on every day...

GoogleUpdateTaskMachineCore - Annex: Run when the user login

    GoogleUpdateTaskMachineUA - Annex: every 1 hour (s) 20:51 24 hour (s) on every day...

I have no idea how or when it has been implemented in this way, but I only started to receive this dialog box by the end of 2011. Would it have happened during an Adobe Flash Player update or update of Google?

I changed the calendar. I've now set up three tasks to run at startup of the system. The popup appears now. Is there a reason why I have to trigger these tasks once per hour?

    CSF

You don't need these tasks scheduled at all.

You can go to each site and look for updates when you want.

If you have installed google something he will continue to try to catch up, and if you have installed adobe you can disable automatic updating.

  • services that run via scheduled task

    Hi all

I am creating a task scheduled to start/stop services. the scheduled task must be run under the service account with minimal rights, as rights of the user or the user rights of maximum power.
I created the scheduled task running under the account of service with power user rights to stop a service, but unfortunately the task was doing what it suppose to do.
I did some troubleshooting and investigated as shown below:
    1. I used the runas command to run net stop under the service account that runs the scheduled task, the service is stopped, as it is assumed
    2. I connect to the server using the account service and disconnected (the session will be shown in the disk for the service account) and at the same time open a session to the server with a different account performed the scheduled task, the task does what it is supposed to do. (the service is stopped)
Note: the scheduled task is set to enabled (scheduled task to run at a specified time)
3 when I changed the rights on behalf of rights of administrator power user rights service and perform scheduled task, the task runs correctly and does what he must do.
    4. the service was set to be managed by the user with power, which means that if a user opens a session on the server and try to start/stop the service, he will be able to action and is successful.
my questions will be as shown below:
    1. to start/stop the service via a scheduled task, the service account needs a session to be able to perform the task?
2 must. the service account the highest privileges to perform the task?
    3. is there a way to avoid to run the scheduled task to run with minimum privileges? What kind of things need to be done.
Thanks in advance for your answer.

I would look at the link below.  This should answer all these questions.

  • Unknown to the programs that run in the background, slowing down the computer

System resources are always be taxed.  How to get to the screen that lists all the programs that start automatically at system boot?  How to identify unnecessary programs in startup list?  Once identified, how to eliminate these programs?

    Hello DcR3, levels,

How to get to the screen that lists all the programs that start automatically at system boot? How to identify unnecessary programs in startup list? Once identified, how to eliminate these programs?

I would say do not delete program files if you are unsure what it is.  You can do a search online of a file if you don't know exactly what it is.

    To view startup programs:

Right-click on the icon in the start menu. Select "Explorer" from the menu that appears
Find the 'Programs' folder in the pane on the left side of the dialog window. Click the plus sign "+" to expand the tree of folders
Click the "Startup" folder to view the programs that start up when your computer is turned on

Go to the start menu. In the menu list, click on 'run '.

Type "msconfig" without the quotes in the text bar. Click on 'OK '.

Click on the "Startup" tab in the dialog window of the System Configuration that is displayed.

Scroll down to see all of the programs and program files that start up when your computer is turned on.

  • I seem to have in dual processes that run in the Task Manager.

In the Task Manager, I see the same process running several times.  Example: under user/Admin""(My name as) ","Local Service","Network Service"and"System"." "  These really duplicates and they slow down my system?

    Are they duplicates?  Perhaps.

They slow down your computer?  Depends on what you're trying to do.  Anything that takes your resources take the pool available for other applications.  However, if you do not run low on resources (your CPU has a lot of horses for what is needed and you're not missing memory for most) - then it probably isn't as much of a downturn as just all of the resources actually get used.  You won't slow until that run out you of resources and try to open something else.

If you worry about it?  N ° except if you have been compromised (you have a virus, worm, Trojan horse, malware any) and this is what is running - the system is as it should.  You are not running a single-user system - even if you are the only physical user.  Service accounts, etc. are there for the functionality of the machine as a whole.

    Windows XP...?

I have some tips that might help you optimize this system...

    Search for malware:

Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

Remove anything they find. Reboot when necessary. (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

Search online with eSet Online Scanner.

The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:

Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in. Look for whatever it is you do not know usingGoogle (or ask here.) You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory. This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

Do a house cleaning and the dust of this hard drive:

You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:

Windows XP should take between 7 and 10 GB * with * an Office suite, editing Photo software, alternative Internet browser (s), various Internet plugins and a host of other things installed.

If you are comfortable with the stability of your system, you can delete the uninstall of patches which has installed Windows XP...

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

You can use an application that scans your system for the log files and temporary files and use it to get rid of those who:

  • Last night, my laptop that runs windows xp blue screened and says something about the queue

original title: help solve a mistake, please on windows xp

Last night my laptop that runs windows xp blue screened and says something about the queue and to bring the computer out of which I did. I just tried to turn it on an hour ago, I use it now, and I got a message saying he had recovered from a serious error and I wanted to report to microsoft? I clicked Yes, but unbeknownst to me, I had no internet connection at the point of having to re-enter my our Verizon router WEP number in this laptop. I essentially self-taught myself much on computers that tell you, I'm not really computer literate, but if you can point me in the right direction, I can very well do. This is where to ask my question/problem. I went in the event viewer and found this error/explanation: Index information is corrupt and Indexing Service cannot re - index the content automatically. User action: stop and restart the indexing service using the following command:

    SC stop cisvc

    SC start cisvc

Can someone tell me please how to do this?  I think I know, but I'm really not sure so please help... Thank you

It really seems to me as if you had a temporary problem which has now disappeared and that you probably do not need to do anything.

However, please click Start, and then click Printers and faxes and report what, if anything, you see in the window that opens.

If you don't see an icon for the printer that you think should be there, you need to fix this.  On the other hand, if your printer icon is there - or if you do not have a printer attached to your computer - you need not do anything.

If you want your computer to be a little faster and at the same time save space on your hard drive, read the LifeHacker article I linked in my previous post.  However, you need not to do, and you can erase [probably] regardless of the index corruption has occurred by starting and stopping the Indexing Service (cisvc) by entering commands in a command prompt window that I described.

Yet once, you don't need to change your encryption WEP to WPA or WPA2 wifi, but doing so will make your network more secure wireless.  If you want to change your encryption, you would start by changing the configuration of your router from Verizon.  You should be able to find detailed instructions on the Verizon support site.  I don't know if you have Verizon FiOS or Verizon DSL service; This is a page of relevant support FiOS--> http://www22.verizon.com/ResidentialHelp/FiOSInternet/Networking/Setup/Security/124980.htm

    Hello

Emulation allows you to run a program designed for one system on another system.

Come back with the game creator for more information on what you need to run
the game. Check with their forums (if any). Check also in other main game forums
help from others. Do not forget to mention the OS you are using, (name game info
and the platform, it has been designed to work) and your system.

Answers - Game Forum - will also ask for other game forums.

  • How to find scripts that run in the background

    Hey

I'm looking for which scripts to run in the background

    Thank you

Open the Task Manager and go to the Details tab. If a VBScript or JScript is running the wscript.exe or cscript.exe process appear in the list.

Right-click on the column header and select 'Command Line'. That should tell you what script file is running.
