  • Need a list of what I can stop using the Task Manager to help play games that are hanging up or jump or stopping programs.

I know how to stop most of the programs running in the back ground by using the Task Manager and the process tab.  But, I click "Show processes from all users" list is double what it was.  I need a list of what I can finish process without going through the computer off and restart or with on dreaded blue screen.  So I ask if anyone has a list of processes that are sure to stop?  Thanks in advance, Frankster195

  • What programs from Task Manager windows peux turn off to improve performance?

I would try to speed up the newspaper at the time, seems a bit slow, it seems that something is running in the background at startup, do not know how to find out what it is.

Also can I turn off all windows task manager of programs to increase performance?

    Windows key + R--> type:
    Msconfig
See the Startup tab for everything that loads the startup/logon.  Then determine which ones that you don't need and learn how to permanently change their settings through their own configuration and/or manual change.

Everything in the Task Manager is what you see when you look through the Startup tab - as well as everything you ran manually or startup items for you.  It's just to show you what is running.

What are the characteristics of your machine in general?  Processor (brand, speed, number of cores), amount of system memory, amount of video memory (and if it is shared) and what your specific operating system?

  • What is (Security Task Manager)?

What is (Security Task Manager)? I opened the Task Manager and noticed that I have too many running .exe files. When I googled the names of Web sites, such as www.Neuber.com and www.file.net, .exe files, give the possibility to download (Security Task Manager). The first 2 lines that I have google Isass.exe and msseces.exe and the two websites mentioned the possibility of .exe files is a virus, Trojan, spyware, adware or worm.

Security Task Manager is designed to detect all the tasks and processes running on a computer and can alert you to potential security risks. The program is designed by Neuber in Germany.
However, it is not designed to rid your system of spyware, virus, or trojan so if you think you have one, you'll need a spyware remover or antivirus program.

  • In the Windows Task Manager, I have 76 processes running. What are they all? Can I reduce/close them?

In the Windows Task Manager, I have 76 processes running. What are they all? Can I reduce/close them?

I am only a very lightweight browser and the user of the social network. I do not use my PC for something else.

It is average for a system Windows does not.

Windows is broken down into different components so they can be executed in parallel to improve performance.

Their closure will cause your computer to malfunction and eventually fails.

Run process Explorer to give you a description of each process and information on the services that are running in each svchost process.

  • Outlook stops responding. The Task Manager is unable to stop it. Then, the Task Manager is not responding. What is the problem

My Dell 1720 runs on Windows Visate Home Premium. Sometimes, Outlook stops responding and will not recover. I launch the Task Manager to stop the program. He is unable to stop Outlook. After several attempts, the Task Manager is no longer in effect. Sometimes I get the message that Windows Explorer has stopped working. What is the problem please?
    George

    Hi George,.

3rd party applications and malware are often cause for this. Have you tried the clean boot such as suggested above (that isolates the background application that could cause the problem)? Also try to run a full scan with your antivirus.

  • What happened to the Task Manager?

until recently, on my XP and Vista OS, bringing to the top the task as Manager provided other assistance in drop-down menus for the functions - but NOW displays only the display of the window Task Manager running programs and their status - and all the other menus are gone - what gives, and how do I access these related menus now?

Open the Task Manager, and then double-click just inside the border. This should return to normal appearance.

When I call to the top the task manager that the portion showing a task demonstrated. What became of the rest of the screen?

I guess the title of the window manager tasks and the menu are missing. To retrieve the full options, double-click the border of the Task Manager window.

  • What is Center.exe process (in Task Manager)?

After pressing HTTP://WWW.ITIS.GOV/SERVLET/SINGLERPT/SINGLERPT?SEARCH_TOPIC=TSN&SEARCH_VALUE=163342-ALT-DELETE, how do I know with certainty which processes in the Task Manager are necessary and which are not? What is Center.exe and is are necessary?

    Hi Chloris,

All of the tabs in the Manager tasks is very important programs required for your computer to run, that's why we recommend you not to process the end of it. Please note that finishing process is a crucial process that could disable some important programs which is necessary for your computer to function normally. If you want to make your computer run faster, you can customize the programs you want to run including required from Microsoft programs. You can do this by performing a clean boot, to do so, kindly check How to perform a boot in Windows 7. However, you can complete the process in the Task Manager Applications tab, programs within this tab are the programs that you are currently using, is that programs that is safe complete the process.

Regarding your question on Center.exeis a process installed on your computer by the manufacturer. It allows devices to run, such as USB Server and Wireless LAN network. It is recommended that do not end its process, for which reason it can cause such devices do not work correctly.

  • What is 'Quickactionbox' appliction? He is constantly provide in the list of applications that are running in the Task Manager on several occasions.

Here you can see the problem. What is this thing?

    Hi Benjamin,

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

According to the description of the problem some application named QuickActionBox is running and showing in the Task Manager.

If you think that this application is not known to you and you think that's not important, then you can uninstall it in the list of programs. But before you uninstall this application, I recommend to create a system restore point and try to uninstall the application so that if this application is important, then you can come back to this point again.

To create restore point, you can see the article mentioned below.

A restore point is a representation of a stored state of your computer's system files. You can use a restore point to restore system files from your computer to an earlier point in time. Restore points are created automatically by the restore of the system each week and when System Restore detects the beginning of a change to your computer, for example when you install a program or a driver.

    Create a restore point

You can uninstall a program from your computer if you no longer use, or if you want to free up space on your hard drive. You can use the programs and features to uninstall programs or to change the configuration of the program by adding or removing certain options.

    Uninstall or change a program

Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.

    Kind regards

When I fly over things that should light up, nothing seems to happen. I have similar issues - when I open the Task Manager, the mouse begins to click. In fact, when I press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and with the pointer of the mouse on "Start Task Manager" I can see the mouse commit but I don't know what process is engaged to achieve. I can also drag files in folders or use the scroll wheel with my mouse. I use a Lenovo laptop on a dock with a keyboard and a Microsoft wireless mouse.
