What is 'System Reserved'? Why it appears as a hard drive?
Hi people,
I have just re built my PC game, and thus, it has 5 HARD drives.
He is now showing a 6th disc, called "System Reserved" (70.3 MB free of 99.9 MB)
I checked the disk management, see it as a partition (?) on a 75 GB of HDD from my old PC, which has the Home Premium version of 7 64 bit OS installed.
My new system has 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS installed, which is the real operating system I use.
I read in an issue, which is usually reserved system a partition that contains the files needed to start.
It is not suggested that this reserved system contains the boot for my old OS files? As it is only 29.6 GB, is it big enough to be who? When I 'open in a new window' it says empty, but I think it's really impossible to access files.
I am very happy to leave it alone, but I'm curious as to why it is listed as another drive?
Also, if it's start-up files, and I chose for formatting the rest of the drive is on, which would be he start?
Thank you
Phil :)
See http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/gg441289.aspx and http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/can-i-delete-the-system-reserved-partition-from/656014d2-a516-46e6-a841-d0f9333ecb48 that hopefully answers your question.

How to install a second operating system on a partition on the same hard drive under xp?
Hello!.. How can I install a second operating system on a partition on the same hard drive under xp?... Thanks in advance!
With the elders the older operating systems, in this case 98, has prior installation.
Is that of Vista as soon as it does not matter what operating system is installed first to do a dual boot.
With Vista, you can then install XP as the second installed the operating system in a dual boot.
But this isn't like you do is 98 or XP...
See you soon.

XP operating system recovery CD does not recognize the hard drive. __
Reinstall XP with recovery inserted CD. At startup, autorun starts and starts to download. Immediately after selecting the partition to be formatted, I get instructions that the hard drive is not recognized? I have no problems with the computer, I just want to clean install and remove years of unnecessary work... whats up?
Hi, the drive must be erased all traces of the file system, that is why XP would not move.
Download and burn to cd Darik Boot and Nuke. Start and wipe the drive hard when you are finished it will appear for XP like a new hard drive.

I had problems with my WD usb hard drive, where a "delayed write failed" message keeps appearing when the transfer of files to or from it. Among the fixes suggested on the WD support site is a link to kb908673, and this seems to sum up my problem. This fix is included in sp3, I believe, however, the fix indicates that a manual registry editing needs to be done;
"After you install this hotfix, the following registry subkey is automatically added and configured:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\USB\EnSoftRetryThe registry key is configured with a DWORD value of 1. This value allows the Soft-Retry code path that is used in this hotfix.
"If you install a later version of the patch (a patch that contains later versions of Usbport.sys and Usbehci.sys), including Windows XP SP3, this registry value not be automatically added and configured. The registry value must be manually added and configured as described above to activate the Soft-Retry code path that is provided in this hotfix. »
I don't have this registry subkey and have no idea how to do to configure a key to have a DWORD value - I can create as a registry entry DWORD value in this key, but it must be given a name. Should I create a DWORD value called "EnSoftRetry" in the USB, or should I create a DWORD value in the EnSoftRetry key and, if so, what should it be called? Or am I completely misunderstanding something here?

In XP, why can't see a hard drive in the list of workstation?
I have a hard drive that can be seen in the devices, but also computer management/disk management Manager. But the drive does not appear in the list of workstation hard drives.
The spooky part is under run cmd, the drive appears and I can Dir list its contents.
Hi Heenanjc,
- It is an external hard drive or an extra hard drive connected to the computer internally?
- What is the drive letter assigned to the drive in disk management?
I would say lets you assign a new drive letter of the drive or change the drive letter of your disk management drive and check if it helps you to solve the problem and if you view it in the window of the computer.
To assign or change the drive letter in disk management follow the steps below:
a. open computer management by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel , clicking system and security by clicking administrative tools and then double-click computer management. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
(b) in the left pane, click Disk Management.
c. click on the drive you want to change and then click on change drive letter and paths.
d. do one of the following:
· To assign a drive letter if it has not already received, click Add, click the letter you want to use, and then click OK.
· To change a drive letter, click on edit, clickAssign the following drive letter, click the letter you want to use, and then click OK.
· To remove a drive letter, click on remove and then clickYes to confirm that you want to delete.
Access the link below to learn more about changing the drive letter.

I have Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate Edition and try to get Ready Boost to work on my PC using portable hard drives or flash drives. I have 2 portable hard drives (iomega 120gig, Seagate 250gig) and a 8gig sandisk cruzer flash drive. All this deterioration when you try to use the ready boost said that these discs only are not compatible or not supported. So what do I need?
Not all readers will work with ReadyBoost. There are some readers who actually will specify that they are capable of ReadyBoost.
By WikiPedia:
- The device should have an access time of 1ms or less.
- The device must be capable of 2.5 MB/s for 4 KB random read speeds indicates the spread uniformly across the entire device and 1.75 MB/s write for 512 speed random writes spread uniformly across the device.
You must also put the device and let it plugged in for ReadyBoost. ReadyBoost is therefore best suited for a small thumbdrive (up to 4 GB) that greater thumbdrive or external HD that you would probably be disconnect from time to time.
Open solutions Explorer window, find your Cruzer - right-click on it and click Properties. If there is a ReadyBoost tab, you can set up - set it to dedicate this device to ReadyBoost. It will be implemented and save a file on the USB key. Click Apply and're you good to go.
A caveat which I can testify first-hand. Apparently while booting, Win 7 has trouble with some USB key - it will search the thumbdrive, the operating system, the process of starting to stall and you say: ' Missing Operating System ' - Fortunately the solution is very easy. Shut down the computer, remove the USB key, restart the computer and it will start normally. I had this happen with a 8 GB Cruzer. This seems to be a random thing, because I had the Cruzer plugged in and booted several times without encountering the error of missing operating system message. No idea why or why it is injury. Currently, I use a Kodak USB 2 gig key that seems to work very well.

Why sovereign funds on my hard drive do not use the latest version of Flash Player?
I've looked everywhere and I don't know why no one seems to be talking about this.
When I view a SWF in a browser it uses Flash Player 11.6, but when I view a SWF file on my HDD it uses Flash Player 10. Why is this? It's driving me crazy.
I already know that Chrome uses several different Flash players. One of them is the built-in Flash Player and the other is the 'system' Flash Player. I assumed that the Flash Player system is one that is running when I opened the SWF file on my hard drive, but this is clearly not the case. I tried to uninstall Flash Player and I could always open the SWF file on my hard drive and they always said Flash Player 10. What happens here? How many players Flash do I? Looks like there is a Flash of Chrome's built-in drive, a system of Flash Player AND a Flash Player that is used for the execution of the SWF file on my hard drive.
I am running Windows XP and I have the latest version of Flash Player. I know because I was installing it again and again trying to solve this problem.
The standalone version of Flash Player (projector) is not updated with the Flash Player browser add-ons; You must download the latest standalone player manually http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

system cannot find Red WD 3 TB hard drive
Want to 700-056. Installed above the Western Digital HD. Not seen in the Bios. Not seen anywhere in disk management.
8.1 to win. Says WD support is probably a setting in bios. I dound nothing which appeared relevant.
I have to be honest, I have never installed one side of axis of hard drive upward. Perhaps because the drive Bay is configured to operate in this way. Because the screws are on the bottom to fit into the slots, it may not work with the side label upward. You can always give it a try to see what is happening. If you do not move the computer from one place to the other, it is perhaps not necessary to use screws.

Remove earlier / released old system files and Microsoft applications to wipe hard drive.
This weekend I had a BSOD problem. Fortunately I was able to recover the system due to the construction, it supports routines in XP. Now I try however to condition my system to minimize a reoccurrence by cleaning the system of updating drivers, to eliminate the unnecessary s/w and wipe my hard drive. Is safe for me to remove earlier versions of the update of the s/w Microsoft for office, MSXML 4.0 Service Pack 2, Windows Internet Explorer 8.0 s/w updates, updates to Windows XP, Microsoft. NET Framework 2.0 SP2 and updated security system? I could recover valuable space on my hard drive. Thank you.
PS. is it possible to transfer all the information it is to say, s/w, docs, files, etc. of a hard drive on a bigger hard drive?
I'll answer the part about the updates Windows and framework-
Remove the old Windows updates: -.
Folders that have uninstall as part of the name (for example $NtUninstallKB282010$ who reside in C:\windows (hidden files) are window Hot difficulty updating folders/files) can be removed safely (providing ever, you wish to uninstall the updates). I recommend you leave these records for a period of at least one month to make sure that the update works correctly.
These updates can be removed individually or together. To learn more about the update/s go on:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/xxxxxx
NB: XXXXXX = the actual number, not to mention the "Q" or "Ko."Once you have removed the uninstall folders/files, then go to control panel, add/remove programs. Select the title of the corresponding Windows fix on the folder/file of the patch you just deleted, and select Delete. You will get a Windows error. This is because you deleted the uninstall folder/files. Simply choose OK and the entry will be removed from the Add/Remove Programs list.
Don't NOT delete the folder $ $hf_mig

Have you tried to run a check disk from the BIOS (Basic Input Output System)? If this isn't the case, you can try to do a hard drive from the BIOS test & see if the problem still occurs.

Original title: where and how to get the installation to win 8 pro 64 bit oem disc
Please community, help me. First of all, I have upgraded to win 10 and it works well. So I decided to start from scratch and got a bigger hard drive and reinstall win 8. I did successfully, but when I rebooted the computer, I received a statement that says "Boot Manager is damaged, the system cannot start ', which is why I am now looking for a start or install disk for win 8 64 bit oem. I was not able to start since I received the message. Help, please.
Hello
Maybe that's a problem, but you can try...
You can try to download the ISO of Windows 8 from the following link:
Download the .exe installation of:
http://Web.ESD.Microsoft.com/W8DL/WSEC5B1D8A9DFDFD92DFB736C5B1D8956B5B1D8/Windows8-Setup.exe
Click on Setup.exe. The wizard of Windows 8 will begin. Enter your key of Windows 8 and press Next.
Click install now and let the full download.
The installation files will be stored by default in the C:\ESD\Windows folder.
When the "Install Windows 8" message is displayed, select 'Install by creating media' to create a bootable USB key or .iso (a disk image) file. Chose a folder to store the image, for example "Windows.iso.
OR... http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/upgrade-product-key-only
If this does not work, see this thread...
BTW... You can download an ISO of 8.1 Win or create media from here...
