• Adding more than one host ESX and the upgrade at the same time.  What is the order of preference of the operations here?

  We are budgeting for more licenses and hardware for 2014 and want to do immediately in January.  I am trying to decide what is the best order of operations for adding two vmware hosts additional to our current installation of vsphere and also upgrade our vsphere / esx 4.1 u3 for the latest and best.

  We have 3 Dell PowerEdge R710 running ESX 4.1 U3.  In this vmware cluster, there is a vcenter server 4.1 U3 virtual machine handle this.  The three servers are about 90% memory used so we add 2 additional servers.  Probably the Dell PowerEdge r.620 since we get up 2 in the space of a 710.  Storage is on a san EMC NX4 NFS which will become too but not yet, let's just deal with the vmware part.

  When adding additional r.620 2, should I install ESX 4.1 on them and join them to the existing cluster and THEN pass vcenter and each one esx?  I ask precisely because 90% of use on 3 current servers, I need 2 other servers to support the update operations take place.  They would be able to repel vmotioned vm while each host receives an upgrade at the same time.

  So which is the best way to go about adding of the hosts and the upgrade?  Would I add as 4.1, then they would be available as targets vmotion and so I have room to start the hosts one upgrade at a time?

  If I update vcenter to the latest version, it is comparable backwards and can manage the 4.1 hosts, but also hosts 5.x?  I guess version 5.5 is the last one I would get from VMWare?  It is right of ESXi, then, how is this ESX ESXi 5.5 4.1 upgrade?  How much storage space do I need for ESXi 5.5, as I'm dechatoiement out of these r.620 Dell and need to know what hard drive to put in.

  The steps that you must follow

  -Updated vCenter Server

  -Upgrade of the ESX hosts (because we do a updating of the material we will install 5.5 on our new guests and add them to the cluster and then dismantle our existing)

  -Upgrade VMWare tools

  -Update data warehouses

  ESXi 5.5 has these storage requirements:

  • Installing ESXi 5.5 requires a boot device is at least 1 GB in size. When booting from a local disk or SAN/LUN iSCSI, a 5.2 GB drive is necessary to allow for the creation of the VMFS volume and a scratch 4 GB partition on the boot device. If a smaller drive or logical unit number is used, the installation program attempts to allocate a region scratching on a separate local disk. If a local drive is not found, the scratch partition (/ scratch) is located on the disk virtual ESXi host, linked to the/tmp/scratch. You can reconfigure /scratch to use another drive or logical unit number. For best performance and memory optimization, VMware recommends that you leave no /scratch on the ESXi host ramdisk.
  • To reconfigure / scratch, see Configure the Scratch Partition of vSphere Client vSphere Installation and Installation Guide.
  • Because of the sensitivity of the I/O devices, USB and SD, the installation program does not create a partition scratch on these devices. Therefore, there is no tangible benefits to the use of the great features of USB/SD that ESXi uses only the first 1 GB. When installing on USB or SD, tent Setup devices to allocate a region scratching on a local disk or the data store. If no disk is local or data store, /scratch is placed on the virtual disk. You must reconfigure /scratch to use a persistent data store after the installation.
  • In Auto deploy facilities, Setup attempts to allocate a region scratching on a local disk or the data store. If no local disk or data store is found /scratch is placed on the virtual disk. You must reconfigure /scratch to use a persistent data store after the installation.
  • For environments that start from a San or use Auto Deploy, it is not necessary to assign a separate logical unit number for each ESXi host. You can co-locate areas scrape for several hosts ESXi on a single LUN. The number of hosts assigned to a single LUN must balance the size of the LUN and behavior I/O virtual machines.

  Its been bothering me since I started using Dreamwever 10 years now, when you use template files to create small, who later turn wholesale websites. Whenever I update a template file I have to find each file in the files Panel, then download them. When I navigate through a lot of directories to find it can get a lot of time and boring.  Whey cant be just a button that does it? See the attached file.

  Is there a way to do this?  Any help would be appreciated.

  The sync tool should do what you want (second "circular arrows" icon in the files window).

  Who checks your files against the files of the current server and download all that is changed. By default, is also download any file from the server which is more recent than your local files at the same time, but you can set it to 'Put the latest files remotely' rather than 'get and put newer files' and you should be good to go.

  Hey everybody! I hope it's a quick question. Does anyone know what do the carrots 'unused' when I put AE make several images at the same time? I noticed that even if I don't have enough RAM to use 4 of my 12 hearts (at least what AE tells me) all 12 hearts still hit near 100% usage when I export. If only 4 of my carrots are used to restore 4 separate frames simultaneously means that the other 8 cores to help with the 'first' image? Or those who do something else?

  The reason why I ask, is that I just bought another 32 GB of RAM to give me a total of 48 GB. Who will give me enough RAM to use 3 GB by heart every 12 and still have about 12 GB left for other applications. It will make a difference in the rendering time? Or is what I see above all a difference not having to wait for RAM previews from my projects will be not enough to fill even 30 GB for a single scene? Of course, I'll have to wait for the first preview of the RAM, but with CS6 I will only reload the layers that I change after initial loading.

  No, there is not. Same minimal differences between the seemingly identical projects (another used effect etc.) can result in significant differences in the treatment of behaviour. He is completely unpredictable, more so as even a theoretical capacity to use the MP made with all hearts does not mean it will happen actually in this way - CoDecs, effects, I/O bandwidth limitations, and so on audio processing could work against it. that and of course there will be still multithreading in some of the processes as well as the process of master control.   I can't find a way to the iPad to choose a large number of photos at the same time (similar to the use of the SHIFT key to select a group of files in windows).  I would like to delete a large number of photo files to save storage space can be used for the future taking pictures.  I wonder if there is an easier way to do that than to have to select and remove each file individually rather than delete them as a group.  By the way this should be done twice if you want immediate deletion.  There must be an easier way.  We appreciate and support.

  I also always wanted something similar, but rather an Outlook that manages multiple profiles , which means that you can check emails, calendars, etc., which exist in separate profiles with only an Outlook application running. For the moment, I have to close Outlook to open a different profile.

  As it is, you can have two instances of Outlook running at the same time, which means that cannot open two independent pst files simultaneously. When you start Outlook, it will always check if another instance of Outlook is still running and happening rather than open a new instance. You can programmatically thwart Outlook in finding that there is no other instance of itself (when it is in fact) and do what you think (in this sense the answer is not impossible), but is not an approved approach and you have trouble of programming or run another application - the end result is messy. Runs also two instances of Outlook can put pressure on resources unnecessarily, especially on memory.

  Perhaps what is required is a feature to Microsoft for Outlook request that can manage multiple profiles simultaneously. If you run this I would sign of course. I'm sure that there is a lot more there.

  We do have an option to set a generic reminder under choice of account in the accounts of the company and can be set by going to the tab account-> account settings-> send parameters and set reminders.

• What should I upgrade to be able to change the 10 cameras at the same time?

  I'm doing a video for live events and I must be able to modify the 10 cameras at a time.

  My system I've set up 2 years ago has a 3.4 ghz Ivy bridge i7, 32 GB of ram and a 2 GB video card. When I do multi camera changes in adobe first, I can only do 3 or 4 at a time with fluidity, using the camera multi monitor, but when I try 5 or more, it does not really play. The audio plays fine, but the video is just a frame every second couple.

  I tried mounting on an internal hard drive WD black, which is 7 200 rpm, but I found that I get the same results on a WD my book edition (which is a hard drive WD Green running to 5 400 rpm) via USB 3.0.

  What should I upgrade to be able to play all 10 cameras at the same time? A high-end video card? Which one? Do I need an esata raid configuration? Is what I ask to do even possible or not first even stand that?

  What version of first? The GPU acceleration is activated? You may need to apply a 'hack' at first, so that it actually uses the GTX 560 for the Mercury engine.
