What is the cheapest video card that will work in a Dell Studio XPS 8100?

Map of 5770 in my Studio XPS 8100 seems to be dying.  The screen keeps have corrupted and I can't do anything until I restart, then it happens after a few minutes.  I have a corsair cx430 power supply installed.

The only weird thing I've noticed is that when it is started in safe mode the display seems to work perfectly.

This machine is my server machine, so I only need to make a minimum of working directly on the machine.

I think I should just replace the video card.  What is the cheapest video card / lowest which will work in my 8100?

Thank you

Jamie

The Sapphire 6450 is a video card large budget.

    Hello:

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c01035677.PDF

Support for HARD drives and capacities are listed in Chapter 3, page 3-25.

Personally, I think you could install a SATA II 320 GB to your laptop.  Maybe even a 500 GB.

You could also probably install a drive of 7 200 rpm for better performance or if the battery life between charges is more important for you, then stick with a disk of 5 400 rpm.

Like Szalam say Mylenium, there is only one obsolete feature that requires a card to this list.

Here's the relevant part of the page that Szalam said:

"IMPORTANT: a common misconception is that After Effects requires features a specific set of Nvidia CUDA GPU." This is not true. Requires only the GPU acceleration plotted in 3D rendering engine Department. The other GPU features work on any GPU that meets certain basic requirements, including the AMD and Intel GPU. • What is the best video card for h8 1280t? Because it does not support 700s GTX :(

I bought a GTX 770 and found HP does not update the bios to take account of the series of video card. TOTALLY LAME. In any case, what IS the best card video, the MB - t supported? (Pegatron ECA2) I have a 550 2 GB GTX OC now so I would like to move to something that is clearly visible to make it useful. Thank you.

    Hello

HP released a list of HP OEM video cards that will work in the h8 - 1280t.  Look at these specifications.

The HP h8-1280 is since over 2 years and I don't expect HP to post additional updates.

If you are having problems with the graphics card no - HP OEM then ask the manufacturer of the video card for redress.

A Nvidia GT430 or GT520 is better than a 300 watt power supply will manage. If you want a better graphics card than Nvidia or any Radeon HD card you willl need a more powerful power supply. The Corsair CX500 and CX600 are highly recommended and are favorite forum. For more information, read Guide of Big_Dave of a discrete video card selection .

  • What is the best video card for a Dell Optiplex GX620.

    Hello!

I have a Dell Optiplex GX620 and after many trials with glitches in video games, I am told that I need to update my video card. What is a good which corresponds to my mini-tower and a good price?

    Thanks for your help!

    Puppetguy

You asked the best video card for the GX 620 minitower then this would be the HD 6670 or 7750 HD.   Apparently, you do not have any dedicated now video card.  If we have linked is too heavy, you will need to give us an idea what you can spend.  Your will does not get a lot for less than $50.  If all want them you want, you can get a HD 6450.  I got one on ebay for $32.

  • Dell E510 needs a SATA card that will work.

    Hello

I have and older Dell E510. It has 3 HDs [10 Windows (32 bit), Windows 7, Windows XP]. They all work very well, but I have to keep going back and forth to the data connector Sata of W7 to XP. Everything I needed was that greater SATA, port 7-pin. I bought a Syba Silicon Image SY-SA3114-4R control card, to use for the XP disk, which was supposed to work specifically on this PC. Well it has been several weeks now and has been a total nightmare. I only list the very many pilots and methods I've tried so hard to get this card to work [Online, file, supplied mini disc, CD, DVD, floppy] but this is a no go. Device displays the map Manager is and BIOS also indicates that he is there. But when the card and the HD XP are connected, all 4 ports are dead [2, 2 Raid non Raid]. Nothing does nothing. It's a very healthy HD XP. When I plug into the motherboard 7 pins original Sata port, it works very well. I so give up.

Does anyone know a simple and reasonable controller card that will give me the extra port I need, so being able to work?

Huge & thanks for any help.

    You care.

    SpeedStep,

Thanks much for the reply very educational and useful. This is great information to know before buying the next controller card.

I appreciate all the work you put in informing me.

  • What is the best graphics card that can fit in the p7-1003w hp?

The card that came with my CPU. the ATI Radeon HD 4200 is too low to run demanding games like Arma 2, so I need a good graphics card that would adapt and balance of my motherboard, so the video card and the graphics card could be facing another.

    CHHeinrich, welcome to the forum.

Before you can update the video, you will need to upgrade the power supply (PSU).  The existing PSU is only 250W.  New mid-level video cards require a minimum of 400 w to work properly.  I normally recommend at least 500W.  This will allow for future updates.  I like Corsair and OCZ PSU.  This is a power supply that works.  I suggest to measure the PSU existing and comparing measures to whichever you choose.

Now, you cannot use integrated video when a dedicated video card is installed.  So you don't have to worry about keeping about with one another.  I love EVGA, Sapphire, XFX and PNY in that order.  Here is a video card which should give you a boost of good performance.  You should stay less than 9 "in length to ensure that the card fits in the space provided.  Always read the customer reviews on all products you purchase to see what users have to say about them.

If you decide not to go with my recommendations, both of these will give you a good idea of what you need.

  • What is the best video card?

Hi, a few days ago, I bought a new dell inspiron 660 s. The intel hd 2000 graphics are disapionting and now I want to upgrade my graphics card to something more powerful. I know he has only 200 watt power beg but I think that there is a low-profile gpu descent that can fit in the machine and powered by 220 watt power supply.

So I would ask you if you can give me advice on what graphics card to get.

    Thank you

This is not a good system to be upgraded.  I know that there is a PCIe x 16 slot, but its location is terrible on this model.  I understand why there is no option to upgrade to a video card and have only a power SUPPLY 220 watt PSU does not help matters.   I don't know yet which way of the card fan or radiator would face at the top of the case.

I don't see something like the HD 5450 or HD 6450 is a lot of improvement.  The HD 6570 would be a good improvement if it will work.   Remember, you need a low profile card that comes with low profile brackets.  Most have the flange fixed size and you will have to change.   The HD 6570 would be better than the GT 630.  The GT 630 you linked just won't work.  It was enlarged and I don't know if the HD 6570 you accessed is delivered with low profile brackets.

  • H8 1241: problems with the new video card on h8 1241

OK, I've seen a lot of posts on this topic, but I couldn't find anything yet. I bought this computer as a windows 7, but have just upgraded to windows 10. The stock video card HDMI port came out, so I ordered an ASUS Geforce gtx 750ti to replace.

    http://www.Amazon.com/GP/product/B00IB9P1KG?PSC=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

When I try to boot with the new card I get the blue screen that tells me to Press esc to get into the BIOS, but it is freezing it (I am not able to get into the bios).

Currently, the only way to make changes are re - insert my old card. I can not even start without secondary card by using the on-Board (which could as a result of the changes that I made in the BIOS). Most of the solutions I've seen involved changes in version 8 of the BIOS but I can't get that. I tried to update my BIOS to the latest version for windows 7, but I don't think it worked b/c I am on windows 10 now.

    Help, please!

    Hello

The level of your PC motherboard BIOS is not compatible with the cards NVIDIA GXT 7xx series.

Contact ASUS to obtain redress. ASUS has maybe a video BIOS update or a different graphics card that will work in your PC.

A NVIDIA GTX 660 new or used may be your best bet.

Thanks for posting on the forum.
