What is the file path for Windows Live Mail storage files in Win7?

I had to save my old C drive and reinstall the OS and now I can't find all my e-mail folders that were under the "Storage folders" section of WLM.  Please tell us where the program records those so I can copy this folder.

Also, where are the stored so WLM Contacts I can do the same thing for that.

WLM is delivered with a default section called "storage folders".  They are different from where the Inbox stores the messages, you can check in the section Options/Advanced Options / Maint.

This is the folder called storage folders is, too.

Still looking for the answer to where the contacts are stored.

Which varies according to the version of the program. In the last (WLMail 2011), they are in a database in the folder called C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Contacts\Default, where C:\ is the drive operating system. You won't be able to make use of all other folders next default one.

Questions about contacts in Windows Live Mail its place in this forum. You must give your version of the software when you post it. In WLMail to find, has press on ALT - H. If that does not show you the version and number generation, press escape twice, then press Alt - F B.

How to use paper in the latest version of Windows Live Mail?

    Version 2011

Short answer: the stationery support has been removed from Windows Live Mail with the upgrade of v.2009 v.2011 back in 2010.

Long answer: there are two solutions of workaround that you can try.

    • If you have a stationery .htm file, open it in Internet Explorer, and then select file > Send > Page by email (Alt - F E P). Save the message as a result as a .eml file and use it as a model for messages.
    • You can get in shape, for example a background color, to a HTML signature, then apply this signature to an e-mail message. Here's the one I use when sending pictures:

  • Limit of words to the custom dictionary in Windows Live Mail?

I discovered that the dictionary for Windows Live Mail cannot be changed in Live Mail (when you go to the Spelling tab in the Options dialog box on the Tools menu) if she has more than 69 words.  (He still work correctly in spell and you can still add words to him when the Spelling dialog box appears.)  It can be modified, for example to remove an error opening the file (C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\Proof\lang0409.lex) with a text editor.

I am running Live Mail version 14.0.8089.0726 on Windows 7 Professional 64 - bit.  Is there a fix for this limit?

    Thank you.

Yes, it was a known bug in version 14. It has been fixed in version 15.  I recommend that you upgrade to the latest Windows Live Mail:
It will automatically import all your older data to Windows Live Mail.

  • The "Reply address" field does not work under the account properties in Windows Live Mail

I use Windows Live Mail on Windows Vista Home Premium system to access three e-mail accounts that I administer.  I would like to change the default reply address in the accounts to use my address E-mail UKU (that is, when I send a message to any of the accounts, the beneficiaries of the default response is sent to my account UKU).

All of my system messages via a different service provider (Virgin) and I discovered that the "Reply To" address in the header is always to my Virgin account.  I entered all my account settings and entered the UKU address that must seek answers (accounts-properties-reply address), but this setting doesn't seem to work.

    Please advise...

    Kind regards

  • Cannot open the .eml files in Explorer windows except for Windows Live Mail

In Windows XP, I could download the files of .eml Windows Live Mail on my computer and then open them from almost anywhere on my computer. In Windows 7, I can only open these files in Windows Live Mail. I have created an association between the 2, but I can not open files with the exception of Windows Live Mail. How can I change this?

Simple design flaw. Simple solution - but he just buried by so many doors to Microsoft you idiots jump through.

    Follow these steps:

I found the solution: Set Window Live Mail (WLM) defaults for EML files in Winodws 7:

Panel--> programs-> set your default programs--> Windows Live Mail--> choose Defailts for this program. Now simply select .eml by checking the box. Select Save at the bottom and close.

    There you have it.

  • Exactly where on the computer are my 'Contacts' stored for Windows Live Mail?

I use Carbonite backup. Unfortunately, when I tried to restore my contact list, I could not find such a file, the list of backup Carbonite or in Windows Explorer. I know where the e-mails are kept, but there is no sign of a Contacts folder (except a bunch of those empty.) I have a lot of existing contacts, but I was hoping to find an earlier version on Carbonite.

All I really want is access to an email address who have somehow got wiped out.

Log on to Windows as a user with administrator permissions and launch Windows Live Mail. Don't bother to sign or adding accounts unless you have to. This will establish a database of empty contacts for that user.

In Solution Explorer, change the \Default\15.5\DBStore folder in the new user profile by one that contains the address that you need. Start Windows Live Mail and check if the old list of contacts has loaded. If so, drag the contacts you need out on the desktop to create a vCard (.vcf) files containing all their data. Copy these files to a folder (for example, the desktop) for the former user in need.

Log off Windows and log in as the former user. Start Windows Live Mail, then find a .vcf file, right-click on it and select Open with > Windows Live Mail. In order to integrate the contact to your contact list, click Add contact .

Please let us know if it worked and did what you want.

For later use, Windows Live Mail includes a free online backup, regular automatic for contacts; all you have to do is to connect with a Microsoft Account. The contact list will be saved regularly and be available from any computer with an Internet connection. This will avoid having to jump through hoops was anything on your computer.
