What is the function of drive D with respect to the C drive with regard to performing backups of disk?

I noticed that when I back up the drive 'local disk' C drive D "recovery" appears as a choice of backup also.

If I look at the contents of D drive, it reflect to some extent the contents of the C drive.  However, it also seems to be very comprehensive, showing only 2 GB free of possible 12 GB.

First of all, what is the purpose of the D drive?  I don't remember when I put anything in there manually.

Secondly, I should back up disk and drive C clear D?  Not that it would take long or take a lot of place, but it's too redundant to do?

Thanks for any comments on the ground!

D is something your OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer - the company that brought the computer in a package deal for you like HP, Dell, Gateway, Lenovo, etc) put it there in case you need to restore the default values.

I would like to backup everything.  The worst of the method chosen, it's that you probably do not have CD/DVD to restore the system in the event of a failure of hard drive... so, this hard drive dies and * poof *-you have nothing.

  • What is the swing (APLB) automatic loading of performance?

    Hi all

Do you want to tell me what is the equallogic array APLB? I read APLB 'eql configuration Guide.

    and how to configure?

    Thank you.

Take a look at TR1070 - EqualLogic PS Series Architecture: load balancers. (do not know if there is a more recent)

APLB means 'Automatic load balancing Performance' and not MPLB (manual). There is therefore no configuration is necessary or possible. You need a table.

APLB manages the distribution of pages (blocks) within a pool. This load balancer works mainly based on latency settings. If APLB detects that a pool table's unevenly more workload to cope will take care of him, as well as when it detects latencies high on a member of the pool (> 20ms?).

IIRC, the BEAK and the NLB comes first and over the years, he has been huge improments.

It was fine on March 8, 2011 before the automatic updates have been installed.

We need the logfile itself (called DMP file) because they contain the only record of the sequence of events that led to the accident, what drivers have been loaded, and what has been loaded.
We prefer at least 2 DMP files to track trends and to confirm the cause.

What, in my opinion, is with block change tracking turned on, is that the differential must roll in the full backup of level 0?

What makes you think that?  Block change tracking allows simply to rman avoid having to analyze each block to see if it needs to be saved.

I've never heard of a differential (level 1) 'random' in level 0.

Recovery begins by restoring the files of level 0.  Followed by the restoration of the blocks from level 1.  Follow up by applying archived redo changes.  Follow-up (if necessary) changes it again online.

As stated previously, the tags are just user-defined labels.  Use however seems them appropriate - after fully understand what they are and what they are not. Tags specified by the user are not even necessary. I'd be cautious about change in a system already set up and running.

  • What are the files must be included in a backup of the catalog?

Is it enough to save the .lrcat file, or must the .lrdata file and folders setting always come with? The previews.lrdata is sometimes a huge file. A catalog works always with a slightly desynchronized previews.lrdata file?

Yes, the catalog (lrcat) backup is a MUST. Not so important is the Preview file (lrdat) as LR will rebuild it for you if it considers that it lacks. If the size of this file is not commensurate with the size of the catalog file that it is maybe because you manage 1:1 previews. Options for what you can find in the settings of the Catalog under file management. What is a record of settings? Oh and don't forget not to backup the catalog file (lrdat) has nothing to do with the backup of your images - they you will have to do for yourself if you do not already done.

  • What are the policies for upgrade regarding annual accounts?

As a creative member of cloud, if I subscribe to the plan, annual plan of $29.99 paid monthly, am I able to upgrade to the expansion/750 $199.99 annual plan plan before the end of my year up without having to buy a second subscription? And if I update, the date of renewal/expiration of the upper tier then changes the date of upgrade?

Can't find a specific official response and I won't end up either locked in the lower plane, be forced to pay for the 2 shots when I choose to upgrade.

    Thank you

    Jen

    Hi Jen

The 29.99, 10 images/month plan is available to users as a group plan (CC + Stock) or as an add-on of CC.

If you went to the CC + Stock plan bundle, it would begin a new contract with a charge each month.  However, if you then change the plan of 750 images, we need to cancel the CC + bundle of Stock and you would need to register for a new CC plan and plan of 750 images.

If you bought the Stock as an add-on plan, you would have a load for the CC plan more fees for the Stock plan, potentially on different dates depending your registration.  You would, however, be able to cancel the 10 image plane and get the 750 image plane without affecting your creative plan Cloud.

  • What is the problem with my workflow?  Re-import the deleted photos.

Can anyone offer some advice?  I'm sure I'm neglecting to use a useful feature of LR, or more likely there is something strange on my workflow that I must correct.

Normally I import pictures from my card reader, copy it to a local hard disk.  I do not immediately delete pictures from the card.  I leave them for a while for several reasons, including temporary backup and eventually remove the card when I need to reclaim the space.

In the meantime, holder processing photos in LR, I tend to remove the total breakage as they are a waste of space (I mean on the photos of the total disaster, for example when I accidentally hit the shutter button with the lens pointed at my foot).

Next time, when I import the map, LR did a brilliant job to do not reimport the photos that are already in my catalog.  But he do not reimport the bad pictures, I deleted my catalog.  Fortunately, I have arrange by date in the import dialog box, all of these pictures are grouped together at the beginning and I can usually remember (or judge visually) where begins the series of new pictures.  But it is quite troublesome and prone to use checkmarks to deselect photos bad and avoid re-import them.  I'm hoping to find a way to ensure that I will never see these photos, even if they are still on the map and I deleted it from my library.

Tips for a better workflow?  Native importer utility from my camera has a nice feature that it keeps track of what photos have been copied from the camera, that you always have this copy on your hard drive.  LR has something similar, or is there a better way for me to reach my goal?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

leave them for a while for several reasons, including temporary backup

What are the other reasons? If only for backup, you should... or could do "import backups" instead.

Don't need even a dedicated for this player, you can use a folder on one of your internal hard drives. Once you sorted out photos, archive photos, make your permanent backup... backup of import can be trashed.

    The basic workflow is:

    1. Import a copy of 'secondary '.
    2. Visually confirm that the files are copied well.
    3. Format the card.
    4. Sort your photos.
    5. Photos of archive.
    6. Delete the backup of importation.

This is the part that I don't understand, why would anyone specify a password does not not a default one.

The user that is granted to select the encrypted password has no need to specify a password when you select the column to the table. What good by specifying a password?

What of the user who is not granted to select data from the data files in this table, who steals the hard drive and hacks. Would you want your data by encrypting with just the default encryption, or you want to make it more difficult for them?

  • What is the recommended size of repository to store saves the backups of ACS SNS-3415-K9, v5.4

Hello guys, we need your advice :),

do you know what is the recommended size of repository to store backups of logs of ACS SNS-3415-K9 (v5.4.0.46.0a software)?

We intend to create an FTP server to record a monthly full backup and an incremental backup daily.

We would like to consider the worst case in which ACS View Database is complete and a full backup is required and daily incremental backups.

In the second period, we would appreciate really any advice on how to maintain, say, only the last 2 full backups and all the related incremental backups in the FTP server, is there a way to automate the removal of the oldest backup when a new backup is generated?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Rodrigo,

Honestly, there is not a suggested size of space available to FTP/SFTP server used as the size of your backups of data base of progressive and complete view depend on 100% of the amount of newspapers ACS server receives every day, so what I would suggest to take a look at a couple of incremental for 2 consecutive days and would help you to determine what would be the amount that you need for a period of 30 days (one month).

And associated with your concern if the ACS would supports the option to manually maintain the last 2 full backups view, unfortunately, it is not available as an option.
