  Hi HARI,.

  Yes, this short video shows Designer LC (although an earlier version).

  The video shows how to create a dynamic form, where you can add and remove items at time of execution and other dynamic features. Develop this type of form, you will need to LC Designer ES2 (current version: 9). as I said it works on Windows, so you would need a virtual machine on the Mac to run Windows.

  LC Designer is bundled with Acrobat X Pro for Windows (note it does NOT come with Acrobat X Pro for Mac). See http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/matrix.html.

  You must also take into account what your users will have to fill out the forms: Acrobat or Reader. There are some features that are not available in Reader unless you drive to activate the form. For example users with reader will not be able to save their data in a form that has no active drive.

  Forms created in LC Designer are according to the XFA specification. They are wrapped in a PDF wrapper that allows then to be opened in Acrobat/Reader. However, they are not like a standard/native PDF and some features of Acrobat Standard, as his comments are not available.

  You can also create forms directly in Acrobat, these are called AcroForms. They can be used to collect data, but don't usually have the same level of dynamic behavior that you saw in the video.

  There are many examples on the forums, then I recommend that you explore these before making any purchase. There may be a learning curve, depending on whether you have scripted before.

  While 64-bit Vista is not listed on there, the latest version of Flash Player, 18.0.0.160, will always install on it.

  I use Personal Software Inspector from Secunia (http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal/) for programs on my system is up to date.

  Tonight I was alerted to the need to update the 9 Reader and Acrobat 9 Pro. I did it; I started with Acrobat, restarted, upgraded the drive and rebooted.

  Secunia has reported yet in Acrobat as in need of an update.

  I checked again once, and Acrobat itself reported as updated to version 9.4.1.

  I checked the properties Acrobat.dll and Acrobat.exe; It is, I clicked on each file in Windows Explorer and properties. On the Details tab, file and product version report the file as being 9.4.0.195.

  The same thing, for what it's worth, is happening with the reader: the program reports itself as 9.4.1 but the AcroRd32.dll file properties both AcroRd32.exe consider that, internally, they are considered 9.4.0.195. (Secunia PSI, is not inconsistent, that flag as a problem.)

  The current version is 9.4.1. You can check the current updates on the Adobe.com site and search for updates, select the Acrobat Windows item and the most recent update shown is 9.4.1 out November 16.

  It is likely that we will be XP support in the not too distant future, and I highly recommend that you start working with your customers to seriously consider a transition (whether for a current operating system, Flash, or for an intermediate solution such as Citrix/VMWare) or otherwise making emergency plans for the day where Flash no longer works on XP.  We seriously considered abandonment of support for XP with Microsoft earlier in 2014, and I absolutely not expect to continue to benefit from past 2015.

  As the former Internet Explorers, it is unlikely that we would explicitly break Flash on XP, but it is unlikely that we would make patches in the event where it breaks.  If it was catastrophic broke, we would block probably just installing XP into the new installers.  To be completely transparent, we do not even have law to connect XP machines inside our offices at this point, so we don't really test.

  We have two options that might be useful in this scenario:

    • Provided in the relief of pain for enterprise system administrators
    • Old version, patched with the latest security patches.
    • Security updates monthly, in tandem with the general release

    • Isolated against any risk of new feature work, but not a substitute for health mental before stable deployment (some security changes may be invasive)
