I used the recovery CD to return to XP Tablet PC edition (because the previous installation was messed up) and then tried to launch the installation of Windows from a couple different XP Tablet PC 2005 CD that I got from MSDN.

  Except if you were juggling permissions in a first step, that this type of problem should not occur with any program compatible win7 (some programs will throw sometimes until a glych, for example MS Office)
