What is the pricing model for the future of Windows after 10?

I've heard rumors that after 10 of Windows, the operating system will move to windows as a platform of services.

Is it true and it's going to be a monthly subscription?

Windows will be a service like constant updates, but there is no indication of a subscription model, apart from a lot of wild rumors.

Unless Microsoft Announces otherwise, I wouldn't worry the bit "subscription". I think it's just a ploy to 'News' sites more hits than anything else.

  • What is the future of interactive ebooks, according to Adobe? (Because right now, it sucks)

I work in the school edition (for most of the manuals). I am a graphic designer and I've worked with interactive books for 2010. The current situation in the production and distribution of interactive books sucks. And I must say I am puzzled by the decisions and strategies of Adobe. By using the tools and technologies Adobe, it seems impossible to create interactive manuals which can be sold and distributed to a wide audience.

Let me explain what I mean, and tell me if this is your case... Am I missing something?

    I - interactive PDFs suck

If you want to create an interactive PDF that you want to distribute freely and that people will read on their computers, it's great. You have a lot of tools to create interactivity, navigation, videos, sounds and other place. Rich in creative tools, easy to use... It's great. But if you want to read this great interactive PDF, you have created... on a Tablet (that's what an eBook is supposed to allow, is it not?), then you're fucked. On the iPad, Adobe Reader software cannot play videos, sounds, forms and of course anything in Flash technology. You can only use hyperlinks and build a kind of navigation. What makes a very lame "interactive book".

Of course, you can use PDF Expert or ezPDF Reader to play videos and use your interactive PDF forms, but what happens if you want to sell the book (you know, to pay the salaries of your employees, etc..)?

If you want to sell the book, you have two options:

OPTION 1-selling DRM-free and ask everyone to please do not illegally distribute (.. .and if you know something about human nature, this is a lost cause) or...

OPTION 2-sales with a DRM, which makes your PDF impossible to read in an application that manages video or any kind of interactivity. If you get stuck trying to sell an 'interactive' PDF which is basically just a normal PDF. Sucking of interactive PDF files.

    II - EPUB suck

EPUB is excellent for novels and books without any fancy layout. I get it. But if you want to have control over typography, page layout and design of your book (you know, what a graphic designer did for a living), well the epub gives you nothing. Layout fixed EPUB is difficult to work with and InDesign gives near zero tools to make them. You must work in the code and twist it. So, is this the solution? Is the answer to what Adobe? Zero Adobe tools and coding in TextWrangler?

What about EPUB 3? I'm still waiting to see any good and beautiful interactive book using this technology. Even the examples on the International Digital Publishing Forum are unstable. The industry is very slow in adopting this format, to say the least. It seems dead on arrival. InDesign can export to Epub3, but is not any tool to help you to create interactivity. It doesn't seem like Adobe is really pushing this technology in any case. EPUB suck.

III - Sodo from Digital Publishing Suite

DPS is very good if you want to create apps just for iPad. If you want to create content for Android, it's a little more complicated, but it can be done. But if you want your DPS interactive books to be read on a PC or a MAC, it seems impossible (did I miss something?). You cannot export your book to these platforms. 99% of our audience are students. Their tool is a computer. They do not attend the class with an iPad. They bring their computer. So that we cannot make the manuals for them. DPS sucks.

So, what is the future of interactive books according to Adobe?

1 - is the interactive PDF? Have we not wait until the Adobe Reader software can read really interactive Adobe PDF with DRM?

2 - is the EPUB? Then why Adobe seem to be so inactive in the development of tools that could help create the good interactive EPUB?

3-is DPS? So is it possible to read on a computer? If not, is aware that the manual whole publishing industry cannot use this technology in Adobe?

IMO, Adobe gives up interactive PDFs because it was mostly flash based, it doesn't care EPUB3 and offers a minimum support just because a designer in need and he puts all his energy into the DPS and tries to create a format that he order.

For now, interactive design and production books suck. Am I missing something?

Something is in the wind. I can feel it... but I can't talk about... Stay tuned.

  • What is the difference of windows 7 32-bit to 64-bit programs?

What is the difference of windows 7 32-bit to 64-bit programs.

    Original title: * bits *.

    64 bit 32 vs

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/32-bit-and-64-bit-Windows-frequently-asked-questions

My PC running the 32-bit version or 64-bit Windows?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/find-out-32-or-64-bit

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/installing-and-reinstalling-Windows-7

Windows 7 64 bit comes in handy when you need to deal with at least 4 GB of RAM or more. Windows 7 32 bit can use up to 3.2 GB of RAM. Because the address space of memory is much larger for 64-bit Windows, this means that you need two times more memory than the 32-bit Windows to accomplish some of the same task, but you are able to do much more, you can have more apps open, do things like run a virus scan in the background it will affect the performance of your system. 64-bit Windows 7 is safer too, malicious code cannot easily infiltrate it, drivers are more reliable because they must be signed before it can work with 64 bit Windows 7.

Regarding compatibility, you need device drivers 64-bit hardware devices, you may have. In addition, there is no 16-bit subsystem in Windows 7 64-bit, which means, your applications must be 32-bit only, not 16-bit Installer or programs uninstaller. Also, if you decide to switch to Windows 7 64 bit in the future, there is no way to upgrade from 32-bit Windows, clean install only.

    Can I run 32-bit programs on a 64-bit computer?

Most programs designed for a computer running a 32-bit version of Windows running on a computer running 64-bit Windows versions. The notable exceptions are many antivirus programs, and some hardware drivers.

Drivers designed for 32-bit versions of Windows do not work on computers running a 64-bit version of Windows. If you try to install a printer or other device that only has 32-bit drivers available, it won't work correctly on a 64-bit version of Windows. For information on updating drivers and troubleshooting issues with device drivers for 64 bit versions of Windows, contact the manufacturer of the device or program.

    I would be using a 64-bit computer?

The benefits are more obvious when you have a large amount of RAM (RAM) installed on your computer, typically 4 GB of RAM or more. In this case, because a 64-bit operating system can handle large amounts of memory more efficiently as a 32-bit, 64-bit operating system can be more responsive when you run several programs at once and switching between them frequently.

If I am running a 64-bit version of Windows, I need 64-bit drivers for my devices?

Yes. All devices devices need 64-bit drivers to work on a 64-bit version of Windows. Drivers designed for 32-bit versions of Windows do not work on computers running 64-bit Windows versions.

To learn how to check for drivers, see update a hardware driver that is not working properly or go to the website of the manufacturer of the device. You can also get information about drivers by going to the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor website.

With Windows XP Professional X 64 expire, what is the replacement? Windows 8 not compatible.

With Windows XP Professional X 64 expire, what is the replacement? Windows 8 not compatible.

Windows XP 64-bit is one of those odd elements that does not quite fit in.  It is based on the code of Windows Server (hence why it only goes back to the SP2 not SP3 as Windows XP did) so it is - upgrade (for purchase in any case) options are limited.  Frankly - Windows XP 64-bit is one of these products, most people should have just skipped (in my opinion) - and with this in mind - the replacement for those running it should be to get Windows Vista 64 bit or Windows 7 64-bit or 64-bit Windows 8.  It there just will be no discount to do on monetary incentive plan.

My suggestion - if your system is good enough, compatible, etc. and you actually * needed * to upgrade (it's not like YOU all just because Microsoft will stop their support extended to it in 2014 - big deal?)  Download Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and clean install.  You can use the free Windows XP (32 bit) MOU to run many older programs, you have * if * you have one that cannot be run under Windows 7 or with the compatibility mode.

In addition - get an unknown computer (for you).  You can find a lease one or something with Windows 7 64-bit, probably for the same amount you'd pay for a version non - OEM Windows 7, pay a little more and you'll probably have a machine that could handle Windows 8 - If you wish.  ;-)

but also, I do not understand the meaning of the charger and why we name Loader?

    Is it safe to use?

If you're responsible for coding, Yes.

If you're someone else, probably not.

The problem lies in the fact that the loader of hooks into the system at a very low level and can pretty much do what he likes.

There's a trisk that the encoder has inserted the code to allow access to the system and your data and that he might have the ablity to turn your machine into a on which you have little or no control.

    Stay well clear.

Apart from this, their function breaks the license agreement that you accept when you install Windows, and it automatically turn you into a fraudulent user, who might be sued for damages.

    Hello

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.
If my assumption is correct, you are looking for which file to download service pack update.
Worry not choose files. Download the .iso to the update file, either burn it or mount or extract it and install. These files are called the symbol files. They differ in the language, for example. frequency refers to the French version. They are used to debug the Service Pack and are not really necessary unless you start to run into problems and try to find solutions on your own.

Can someone tell me, what is the difference between windows 7 OEM and sales vs retail?

There is no difference in the product itself.

Although if you get a generic OEM full version, it contains the
even software, it has the following disadvantages compared to the
    commercial version:

    1. the biggest drawback of an OEM version (at least in the USA) is
that its license it permanently binds to the first computer, it is
installed on. He can never legally be moved to another computer, sold,
or given (except with the original computer). If the computer
dies or is stolen, your license dies with him.

    2. he can't do a clean install, not an upgrade.

3 Microsoft offers no support for OEM versions. You cannot call their
with a problem, but rather to secure the necessary support of your
OEM; who take in charge may go anywhere between property and non-existent. Or
You can get support elsewhere, like in these forums.

Regular accumulation is the regular version at retail of Windows because most of us use (SP1 or not).

The build Debug/Check is specifically aimed at developers who developed to make it easier for the debugging flag
